  • thats my dad in the 94 what a good car i miss it

  • rad vid! its too bad this division of cars are dying out. i live in denver, which is home to the smallest sanctioning body in the u.s. the cars ran here are a little different, but still just as great! i would really love to see these isma big block machines run!

  • @bendocks

Thanks for commenting, and I'm glad you liked it! Yes, I've looked the Colorado supermodified group up before. I really like the supermodifieds out west. I want to go take in a show sometime. If the Copper Classic still ran them out in Phoenix, I'd be there. I'm glad there are still groups around that run them. Hopefully they never go away. It would be nice to see them grow. It's too bad the pockets of supermodifieds are so spread out. I wish the east met the west more often.

  • Thanks for the memories, The one show I saw at this track is still one of my greatest memories growing up.

Hope I can take my son out to this track next summer. Hopefully Grandpa will come along too

  • @ccugolfer2 Thanks very much for leaving a comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, you NEED to get your son and his Grandpa out there for a show!

  • Awesome vid. Thank you!

  • @captainpegs07 Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment.

  • Best lineup ever

  • do u kno how much those motors are worth? they look like a ton of money

  • probably upwards to 40 grand or more..you can pay up to 25 grand for a 358 cu inch Morgantini engine for and SST Mod..these are big blocks so considerably higher

  • i got a big block 490 in my truck with a 4.10 rear end

  • Love this Video Have some posted myself from May 23ed 09 race

  • i live in oswego i saw the classic today! congrats doug and joe

  • thank you for posting this. I just rediscovered supermodifieds and plan a trip to Oswego to see them. I raced at tracks back in the 1960's that also ran the supers and they are my all time favorite! Very cool!

  • Great video man!! love the body style!!!

  • RIP Car #77... I am suprised the driver wasn't hurt in that crash. The thing is buckled damn near to the foot box.

  • Yeah XC0688, I love that too. I appreciate you watching this video.

  • i love when they push the cars out. the direct drive is pretty cool and they throw the switch for the ignition and they fire to life and you hear that chevy big block. i love this vid no doubt about it. i like the part too when you were asked what you were filming by some guy off camera haha. either way good stuff

  • Hello! I appreciate you writing in and watching my Oswego Speedway video. I agree, hopefully that track you mentioned will be similar. Have a Happy Holiday!

  • Hello, sorry about my delayed response, thanks for watching my video. Naw, this is Oswego Speedway. I almost think you are thinking of Tioga Motorsports Park? Happy Holidays.

  • I appreciate you writing in! Classic is awesome, right?!?! Sorry about the delayed response. Happy Holidays.

  • Hello! I'm very sorry about the delay on my response, I had no idea I had comments in here. The car at 3:48 is the Bill Hite-built 4-wheel drive rear engine car, built in Alabama many years ago. Gene lee Gibson was driving that night, and it was for a run-whatcha-brung night. Thanks for asking, Happy Holidays!!

  • I have been there done that at Oswego Speedway . I was there for the greatest Classic in 83 .I was there when we lost the "Pine" .

Thank you so much for posting this .God I miss those Hoffman hotdogs .

  • Hello! I'm sorry about the delay. Thanks for writing in, and it was my pleasure to create this video! Happy Holidays.

  • i go there with my dad some times

  • Hello! I'm very sorry about my late response to your comment. I'm glad you guys go to Oswego Speedway, it's a great place to go with your Dad. Keep going! Thanks for watching the video, and have a Happy Holiday.

  • my dad joey payne jr. was in the #4 winged car

  • Never heard of Joey Payne Jr. Kidding! He is always a threat in anything he drives. I hope to steal his money in Atlantic City this coming year. History says it won't work out like that because I saw how fast he is there and I have only driven a TQ midget 3 times, but I would love to say I beat Joey Payne Jr. someday. Thanks for writing, and good luck to you and your family this season. See you in A.C!

  • lol yea...i'll be running A.C. for the first time this year...see ya there

  • Good luck JoeJoe, it's fun driving in that place. I hope you're smiling like I usually am afterward. See ya!

  • Very nice. Wish I had me one of those. I'm a big open wheel racing fan and those babies remind me of the good ole' days. Still try to follow as much modifieds/USAC racing as I can.

  • Yeah, I love USAC too. I wish I had one of these as well (you might have seen that already!). Thanks for teh comment.

  • is there a place in oswego called sky-view drags?

  • I'm sorry I'm so late getting back to you. I am not sure, I have never heard of Sky-View drags. Always remember that there is also a place called Owego, NY, and it is a very hilly region, so maybe this place could be there? Thanks for writing.

  • Listen to the sound.....

There is only one place on earth you can hear a BIG BLOCK CHEVY in 'fighting trim' .....Oswego, NEW YORK.

    Great Video....

    thanks again.....

    dan k

  • its pretty sad that oswego speedway is the only track that i know of that runs the supers weekly.

  • Yeah Yankeebeaters04, it is a shame. I really am hoping that they survive. I try to put in a good word about the cars wherever I go. Thanks for writing the comment!

  • hey petie151 all the supermodified orginazations should do a lot more to promote the supers.

  • Yes, you are so right. I've taken it upon myself to do that for Oswego supers. I have noticed that the WSSRL has finally started promoting their organization, as well as the guys in Colorado. I wrote to the head of the WSSRL to thank him for that, because nobody ever posted anything about the western cars, and I've always been intrigued by them. It'd be nice if they could combine sometime, maybe once per year somehow, maybe out in the Indiana area.

  • Joe Hawksby won a dash or a heat or something that same day with his #2 Hawk. He proceeded to pinch the trophy girl's butt in victory lane. Memorable event!

  • i love how Roy Sova is talking about the Hawk chassis while the video shows Furlong's car, one of the first to eventually run the new Hawk chassis

  • Hi Waytokie,we are pretty lucky to have it within 45 minutes of where I live. I am intigued by the western supers, but nobody promotes them. I search constantly for information on them, and I have found the WSSRL site and one from Colorado. It's a shame that no one steps up and does any Youtube videos for them. Davey Hamilton has put your cars on the supermodified racing map, but here in the east, this is all we know about. Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you liked the video.

  • man i love Oswego.

  • sure these are big blocks? im noticing alotta sb2 engines, saw one 23degree headed engine, and a 13 degree engine.

  • Hello, yeah, I know that most of them are big blocks. I don't think smallblocks are legal. I'm not sure on that though. Everyone I know of at Oswego with a supermodified runs a big block. That's a good question though. I think they run smallblocks out in California, but 468's are the majority here. Thanks for watching!
