hey beginner in logic here, i followed your video and made my snare instrument in exs24. when i exited out and hit record to make the midi region and a few snare hits there was no sound D: i stopped recording and pressed play, there was no sound. you know what would be wrong there? ... i used the ex 808 kit and picked a snare from there.

@imamusicmogul actually i don't know if i loaded it right? i did new>track> software instrument then did exs24 sampler. then i went in and did the edit, picked the snare sound from the kit then did the instrument thing. i don't know if thats right. don't know any other way to get the exs24 as the input.

@TheArcher1393 Ok.. You opened, the EXS 24... Clicked edit, placed in a new sample, dragged, the sample up and down, and saved the instrument... You should hear the sound all the time not just when you are recording... Give me the exact steps you are doing, because if you folllowed every step in the video it will/should work!!

@imamusicmogul hey thanks for the help, but i got it! idk if i really was in the wrong octave because the little virtual keyboard is so little, or it was because i was using a .aif snare not .wav. i downloaded a sound kit with .wav files and used a snare from there and it worked :) so thanks for trying to help. Keep up your videos they're really helping a beginner like me! thanks a bunch.

What I'm hearing doesn't sound like a drum "roll" .... it sounds like multiple beats in a row ?? I tend to use "flam" and a snare hit instantly after. Do I make any sense to you ? Oh, and of course "humanise" But perhaps it's the type of sound I'm after is not the same as yours ??

I use the HyperEditor in conjunction with the first bit of this video to make my SnareRolls.

how do you click a place the add a note? instead of right click create note. is there a button to hold down? so that i can just drag a held down left click across the screen and it will fill in the notes where i go? just like drawing in Paint on a pc?

@ZoSoKiller Dunno if you ever got an answer but to just draw a note in hit ESC then 6, this will bring up the draw icon. You can then just draw in the notes as you see fit :)

@ZoSoKiller you can also alt+click an existing note to make a copy of it that you can drag wherever you like

Nice, I use UltraBeat's sequencer,and drag & drop pattern feature though.....seems faster to me, but that's just me.
