Hey, I've always loved this song and I have been trying to figure out the chords, I know it starts in D and of course he uses G and A. Then he does that little step up about 1;15 in the song, It has me all bumfuzulled lol. Can someone help me with the chords/keys in the second part? Thanks
Ain't it funny how "the Storyteller" can paint you a picture of a person trying to revive love long dead, and he is so good at it, you can see it in your mind's eye, the only version, worth the time, B.B. on the mic, and Tom T. on the pen, classic stuff.
I'm usually of the opinion no one sings it like the person that wrote it. But I do love Deryl Dodd's version. Retains the greatness of the song while putting his own touch on it. The Bobby Bare version is not so much a favorite, because it's pretty much just a total remake of Tom T Hall.
Deryl Dodd? No thanks. Tom T. Hall? It's his song, and he can scarcely do a bad job on anything. Bobby Bare? This version oozes with soul, plus Bobby is the one who made a hit with it- first. I'll take this version over any others.
This is a great song ..

Could someone upload Bobby's original studio version of Streets of Baltimore.
Along with Tompall & the Glaser Brothers' version, Bobby's is one of the best

@IamtheDrifter.... all it does is modulate up 1/2 step by way of the 5 chord (Bb) if you are in the key of D......it has a key change to Eb

On of my favorites, for years. Listen how he gets choked up near the end. That's when I do too.
Fantastic.

@Buddawg1960 I agree with almost everything you said, but please listen to Solomon Burke' version, you may change your mind.

Tom T sang it best but listen to the words. True Love no lead drummer just real country music! Great song!

Tom T. Hall wrote this old tune & recorded it also, I believe Bobby Bare did a much better job singing it.
