  • lea michele is fucking unreal

  • is that lea michelle at the right?'xx

  • WoW!!!!!!! You guys sound SUUUPPER amazing!

  • DAMN!!

  • The seven people who disliked this were all Frau Bergmann.

  • Lea Michele is still my absolute favorite. Sorry ya'll; as much as I love the ensemble, Lea stands out.

  • Krysta is amazing.

    had to be said.

  • lauren pritchard is a spaz but i like her

  • There all so amazing! Wheres Phoebe!?!

  • This video is therapeutic for me.

  • @krispykritterlover This is a bit of stupid comment I know, but i was supposed to put a 'thumbs up' for your comment but I accidentally clicked on the 'thumbs down' instead. Sorry! :(

  • ...damn

  • wowza.

  • i love lilli

  • I love Krysta Rodriguez <3

  • original cast... amazing.

  • Lea belted an F at the end- a half step higher than the original key. Damn.

  • ahh this is soo awesome! people talking about all these techniques, I have no idea about =P I can't sing at all. but I love this! Lea Michele is my fave (although I have to say I only know this because of Glee) I think its really entertaining to see the 2 left ones getting soo into it. everyones amazing, but my favorite is lea :] she sounds amazing.

  • LOVE THEM!

  • can anyone tell me the names of all the girls who are singing please?

  • @iLvSawyer

From left to right: Lauren Pritchard, Remy Zaken, Lilli Cooper, Krysta Rodriguez, Lea Michele

  • really really awesome. i did a version of this song with all my voice. it was really hard but it turned out pretty well i think. if you wanna check it out its on my page. ;)

  • I can only belt. It'snot a good thing.

  • they're so amazing. it's a shame that nobody seems to care, at least in the stands.

  • I love the people on the side who're hella not into it. Haha...

  • This girl who plays Wendla is awesome.

  • lea michele :)

  • At dark: How old are you? I hate to sound like the annoying nagging mother, but belting isn't something you force upon your self. I discovered how to do it outside my voice lessons, and then incorporated it into the rest of my songs.

  • belting is something that has a technic...I'm 18, my singing teacher teaches me the technics...and from this on you have to learn by yourself...but of cours you can be teach belting...

  • Damn! thats amazing!

  • this makes me miss the OBC =[

  • Wow, this is SO good.

  • everyone would kill to be a tenor , we sound so nice :)

haha yeah , on a good day im like an A4 , but i can do a b flat 4 if im really warmed up haha.

G#3 doesnt sound that high for a baritone , that sounds more like a bass ?

  • wow

  • WOW!!! yall r amasing

  • thats why they are the originals ;D

  • Why isnt Phoebe here?

  • aargh amazzzzzzing

  • ugh, the last harmony is cut off... BUT IT'S SO GOOD

    D:

  • they gave me goosebumps. FIERCE!

  • whos the girl with the kind of bowl haircut? never seen her before

  • Krysta Rodriguez. :)

  • @Iverson7502 she's Krysta. She was ensemble in the OBC she went on to be in In the Heights and now she's in Addams Family

  • They are so badass. No joke. OBC ftw (even though Phoebe's not here... she's in my heart...)

  • Wow, that last harmony (that got cut off a little bit) is incredible!

  • amazing =P

  • oh krysta, you so fly

  • OMG that was absolutely amazing. whoa.

but wait, how does degrassi play into this?

  • This is an entire half step up from the original recording.

Not only is it ridiculously hard to sing, but Lea finds a way to belt the F (which should be an E) like no fucking other.

    Amazing.

  • That is exactly what I was going to say. Not every person can belt an F4. Then again, not every person is Lea Michele.

  • @Nikbin32092 YES. That's what I was thinking. She's like the only Wendla who has had no problem with that note at all, What a beast. :P

  • @Nikbin32092 It's not that hard if it's your voice...... Gaga doesn't necessarily have a good range but Born This Way is in the key of F and she belts an F all through it. Lea Michele just can do all keys.

  • i bet the people from degrassi were feeling very inadequate during that. :.D

  • ...as they should (no pun intended)

  • beautiful

  • i love the harmonies when they sing "weeping".

    gets me EVERY time.

  • where's Phoebe? anyways great performance! i love how into it Lauren gets as usual! haha =)

  • AMAZING

    the end.

  • omg.

whoever came in with the base drum hits is

    AWESOME!!!

they just break it down right there.

and the harmonies are sooo freaking crazy

    i love this song!!!

  • seriously, between krysta's harmony on "cry" and lea's belting this is freaking perfection. AMAZING JOB GIRLS =)

  • ohhh myyy goooood, what a voices!!! they have talent

  • i can never never never never never never...

    let me repeat myself...NEVER (!!!!!)...

get enough Mama...especially from these perfect ladies here

    yay

  • lea makes it look easy!

  • Boy, does Lauren rock out. =]]]

  • this is my favorite version. soooo fierce

  • FIERCE!!!!

  • Ugh, so fierce.

  • omg girls that was just awesome...

there are no words to explain it

  • i was there at this event and it was simply amazing live.

  • SO FIERCE.

  • uggh

    *POWERFUL

  • *power

  • Krysta has a power "CHRIST"

  • it's "Cry" not "Christ" lol

  • lmfao. my bad.

  • AMAZING HARMONIZING!

  • I did this for acapella.

    this is really good though:)

  • Fuck. That was fierce.

  • this is really cool! it looks like a lot of fun! :)

  • I miss Lea Michele and the Original Cast of Spring Awakening already.

  • I love how this key is one step higher than the actual song and they still killed it

  • search on youtube "mama who bore me reprise harmonies" and theres audios of anna, thea, and martha

  • Is it really that hard...?

  • nope

  • In case you were wondering, I was asking why she thought harmony was hard in general, not the specific harmony for this song. Really, neither should be difficult if you have an idea as to what you're doing.

  • do you know how old the blond one is ? when i saw her in the musical i was like : OMG , she is so young O.o

hey in the part tha moritz sings don't do sadness i didn't understand everthing , does anyone here can explain to me ?

ps : i haven't finished my english curse yet , i'm not american

  • thats remy zaken if I understand right. She's 18 now I think

  • yep, it's remy zaken! <3

  • who's the girl with the really short hair (is it emma hunton??? because i think the girl on the far left is lauren)

  • The girl with the really short hair is Krysta Rodriguez. She was part of the original Broadway cast as an ensemble member. I think she also understudied the roles of Wendla, Ilse, and Anna.

  • Thanx

  • You're welcome. :)

  • She also went on for Martha, and she was on for Thea for one full show and a half of another, I believe. She's now in In the Heights, understudying Vanessa, Nina, and Carla. She's pretty fierce. :)

  • Whoa. Looks like she pretty much covered every female role. Thanks for the info!

I love In the Heights! And from what I've heard, Krysta is one fierce person, doing all that crazy dancing and singing eight times a week. I would love to see her play Vanessa.

  • wow.

You cant do anything but love them.

  • This has to be one of the most beautiful version of the MWBM reprise ever. No lie.

I never get tired of it.

  • My thoughts exactly, I wish it was performed this well when I saw it.

  • AMAZING!!

  • LOVE IT!!! OMG

  • be there was fire! great performance..<3

  • i love how there is so much talk of pitch and problems with what note they are singing on, and not quite as much focus on how fierce and talented these ladies are.

  • and seriously...how much can u expect out of a capella five-part people? hahah

  • wat is this when were they doing this??????

  • the Spring Awakening & Degrassi "Verbal Mash-up" Press Event

  • I was kucky enough to be there yeah!

  • lauren is so amazing!!!! She is rockin out and doing her own thing, so freakin incredible!

  • omg lea michele is freakin amazing

  • i was thereeee.

  • omg.. i really love how lauren pritchard always manages to be the star, even if she's not center stage or even doing like main vocals. she has such great energy. i just looove her

  • Actually it was an F natural. Since it was a'capella they accidentally went up a half step.

  • I don't know why people are 'thumbs-downing' this. I think it is phenomenal that Lea can belt an F [which it was, in fact, not an E].

  • LOL! Idk why, either.

She's one of few who can belt an F4, in the Broadway arena. I would kill just to belt a C4.

  • I am a baritone [who'd kill to be a tenor], so anything above a G#3- an A3 on a really good day- I'd love to be able to hit without passing out. :]

  • I'm a classically trained soprano, but I'd love to be an insanely amazing belter.....like Lea Michele.

  • I'm being trained to be a belter....it's so difficult :(

  • dont, seriously if you still want to be singing when you're older and you have been belting the whole time you wont be singing. there's nothing special about it, you should only belt sometimes.

  • @renethel I'm a classically trained 2nd alto, which I love. But I know what you mean. I have a lower range, so I can't even get close to belting what the intensely and marvelously talented Lea Michele can.

  • C4 is just middle C, so I think you mean C5! I only wish I could belt notes above B5, but alas, I can not.

  • Oops! I have to stop writing comments in the middle of the night. I do know my octaves. lol!

  • WHERE'S PHEOBE? btw, i love this song :)

  • oh my god, i know. she is so freaking talented

  • crazzzy!

  • CHILLSSSSS =]

  • i know...i was just saying that i like her voice.

  • no, i meant that she doesn't use it enough in this show. she uses it for this song, but i think thats all she uses it for....which is sad cuz it's freaking AMAZING

  • whos the girl instead of phoebe?

  • i think that's krysta

  • [ohxsnapson] nice username. =]]

  • haha thanks! you too!

  • lea=AMAZING BELT VOICE! i'm sad she doesn't use it more in the show

  • well when you do 8 shows a week you can't belt everything....you will die...she has to save it...still she sounds awesome

  • i luv this but how could u cut that last note?? it's always the best

  • lol Lauren's rockin' out!

  • what event was this??

  • Spring Awakening & Degrassi "Verbal Mash-up" from AOL

  • and, how exactly did this happen? the Degrassi/ spring Awakening mash-up?

  • ugh-maze-zing!!!! i love these girls!!

  • I saw the show on 1/12/08, I sat up on stage. It was fantastic. The new Moritz was great.

  • I sat on stage that day too haha.

    New moritz is pretty good

  • who is the girl in the white shirt with the really short hair?

  • Krysta Rodriguez. She was a member of the ensemble and understudied several roles. Krysta left the show months ago and is currently playing Bebe in A Chorus Line.

  • She's going to be in In the Heights.

  • yeah i heard about that, she's gonna rock that ensemble!!!!! That makes me wanna see In the Heights twice as much than b4 I found out! :)

  • You are so racist.

  • if you must know one of the girls on here lilli cooper is black and another, krysta rodrigues, is hispanic. not that it matters though because they are all incredible performers.

  • well they're all playing 19th century germans so i guess they kinda have to look that way. it's based on a play that was written in 1891 in germany that was banned for 100 years because of how controversial it is. It's a rock musical.

  • @garzaeduardo The song was written to fit the voices of the original girls playing the characters... all of which but for one were white. Sooo how about we leave the song open to all races, k? They sound fucking amazing, not like "rejected stones" whatever the hell that means

  • ohh myyy goodness

i looove lauren just rockin out in her own world

    they sound soooooo amazing

    :)

  • This is my fave song!!! YES!!! This was really good!!

  • Yeah, I don't have perfect pitch, but I have very good pitch retention, and I could defnitely tell they were too sharp. I know the song is in E Major.

  • E Major? Then why everytime i hear it are they belting those Fs?

  • Probably because they didn't have a pitch pipe. I've listened to the cast recording, it's in E.

  • hahahah, then, they're upping the key a half-step everytime i hear it...excluding the cast recording...

  • they sung it a half step higher b/c that can happen when you sing a'capella.

  • oh, well, i guess...there's no point in arguing...they ALL upped it a half-step and they ALL changed the key...just think...it could have been one or two of them...hahaha, OUCH!

  • lol i wasn't arguing. i just wanted to clear up confusion lol. :)

i have absolute perfect pitch so i could hear that easily, but hey, that just happens singing a'capella. :)

  • Very true with singing a'cappella. E is a very hard key to tune to (in my opinion).

  • yeah, it's just one of those darn keys lol! :)

  • aww...i'm glad u have perfect pitch...yeah, i know that sounded insanely sarcastic...but really...it amazes me whenever i hear of someone with perfect pitch...it gives me hope for myself! hahahaha, kidding.

    :)

  • "it gives me hope for myself!": well you could develop relative pitch. i don't have relative pitch....but you might have it..who knows lol? :)

  • well, i can normally give an small, accurate range for notes when randomly sung...hahahaha, but anywayz...

    I HOPE SO!!

  • that's along the lines of relative pitch. ppl with relative pitch can also identify intervals. you probably have it.

  • Incredible stuff. Wow-inducing

  • fierce.

only word in my vocabulary that describes them.

  • FANTASTIC PITCH!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish i had perfect pitch like you guyz. damnit. then i could fight about it with you!

  • this is crazy!

    omg!

like i wish i could sing like them!

  • okay I LOVE this song! they are SOOO good together! perfect harmony, perfect pitch, and you can totally see how much fun they're having. I wanna sing like that some day! :]

  • it's an f natural orrca1142, im sorry but i have perfect pitch.

  • well geeze lets not go and announce it to the world..

  • lol, i've perfect pitch too. Lea ususally sings an E there but singing a-capella threw them off, i suppose leading them to sing higher.
