  • When I first saw Harry Potter and the PHILOSOPHER's Stone, I hoped that Snape wasn't really evil because I thought his long-haired gothic look was vaguely reminiscent of the classically angelic...I had never seen this movie! ;)

  • the ironic thing about dogma, while very accepting of agnostics and atheists, it still promotes the idea of religion and faith. the good kind when people are accepting and not murdery

  • I just watched Dogma... it's AMAZING... AWESOME.... BRILLIANT... COOL and FUNNY! everything totally makes sense to me!

  • Can someone write that what he say's?

I haven't got sound on my Computer ._.

    thanks!

  • @AlexiBexix3 "To read a screenplay and to see how well-crafted it is, it's a joy to somebody like me who really appreciates good writing and actually, at the end of the day, that's what makes you ever say 'yes'."

  • I haven't seen Dogma yet... i will definitely go and get it though... it's on the "movies i want to see list" along with Bottle Shock, Nobel Son, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and there's at least one more, the name of which escapes me at the time of typing this because i have really really bad Dyspraxia and names are something i'm not too good at remembering

  • What did he say?? Lol I was too busy drooling 8P** he's so freaking sexy.

  • @Liebling05 yeah every time the Metatron showed up on the screen i was drooling too! Snape and The Sheriff of Nottingham are still my favourite characters ever though!

  • As Voltaire once said, "Crush the infamous thing!"

  • Hum sorry but, can someone write what his he saying ? I don't speak english so i just understand " ... to see how ...it is.. somebody like me .... I actually.... ever say yes"

    ^^'

But i saw the movie and I really apreciate the point of view over the religion, and god, really brillant movie, and funny ^^

  • @yakibaru "To read the screenplay and to see how, how well crafted it is is, uhm, its a joy to somebody like me who really appreciates good writing. And, actually, at the end of the day that's the only thing that ever makes you ever say yes."

So .. he just thought it was a good script and really enjoyed it.

  • Dogma is a badass movie.

  • dogma is dog shit

  • Dogma is a great movie it had some really good Philosophy like what Selma Heyak said about faith and what Chris rock said about Organized Religion

  • @Joeyal123 exactly ^-^

  • @Joeyal123 not to mention the deleted scene of the devil explaining what "evil" is.

  • @torment3d hes not the devil hes a muse turned demon

  • @Joeyal123 In many ways I agree with Dogma. The relationship between an individual and God is exactly that! It's between the individual and God.

  • Dogma was funny haha

  • I bet the same people who hated this film are the same one who deny that Catholic priests bum little boys.

If they are so brave, why not have a go at a real target, like that Satanist psycho who sings a song about "Total War"?

  • @Dirtcreature that is true

  • Defending 'Dogma' means defending freedom of thought. And there are lots of people/organisations fighting against. Not only so called muslim terrorists, ... there are Christians, Scientology, Politicians and many other more, who are not interested in free thinking ... not interested in frankly discussions.

'Dogma' and 'The Life of Brian' expose the myth of Christianity, catholic church does it too, with sexual abuse and mistreatment.

  • Dogma is a destructive force. "Dogma" is a cool movie. Big difference.

  • Absolutely genial film

It is not so outrageous as "Monty Python's The life of Brian but also very intelligent and funny.

    Kevin Smith is good.

  • @NatallaFry This film is far more outrageous than Life of Brian. The only biblical character in LoB is a cameo by Jesus giving an accurate sermon on the mount. Dogma is littered with characters from the bible. Azael led the revolt of the Seraphim, Metatron is the Seraph who spoke to every prophet and the virgin Mary and Jesus. God is in it. The Golgotha demon, well Golgotha is the name of the hill where JC was crucified and appears as a shit-demon in the film. They also said Joseph boned Mary.

  • @jacksawild its not as bad as your makin it out to be =/ i have religious friends and they found the movie funny its freedom of speech we dont have to bite our tounges because christians cant take a joke =/

  • @gacktandhydefan101 A strict interpretation of this would be heretical. I love this film and LoB.

  • When Religion says bad things about the Movies, oh its on...

but when a movie says something about Religion?

    Sinner! Sinner! Sinner!

  • but arent all religions acceptance amongst there own sin evn if the sinner has no religion isnt he a fre soul confined by no man no god confined to nothing..that is truly free? correct?

  • No.

Religions are a war of Idealogoies.

    1) Fantasy vs Reality

    2) The oldest form of Fandom.

  • so your telling me..they know its not realll...

    explain homie

  • not like they had other forms of media back in "them old days."

  • freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose!! Free or lost, you decide.

  • @13Loriful No it isn't... you insane fool.

  • @Messyification Think deeper. LOL if you can.

  • @13Loriful What?! Deeper about what?! Deeper into the meaning of the word, freedom?

Like, ability, carte blanche, elbowroom, exemption, flexibility, free rein, immunity, laissez faire, liberty, opportunity, power, prerogative, privilege, right, unrestrained...?

None of them mean nothing left to lose... You'd probably realise that if you had your freedom taken away from you. Probably worth thinking deeper about that... LOL. If you can.

  • @Messyification Hey now, let’s not get our knickers in a wad. Obviously we are not on the same train of thought. I was actually trying to be comical. You know the song ‘Me and Bobby McGee Janis Joplin’? “Freedoms just another word for nothin’ left to lose…” Listen to the song and maybe we will be on the same page. Like I said, just tryin’ to be comical and for the record, I don’t even remember posting that first comment or why…. So. Friends?

  • @13Loriful Ha! Song not listened to because I can't find it. But point duly noted. Friends. Knickers utterly unwaddled.

  • @Messyification Cool! :-)

  • I know what you mean. I also really hate it when people try to push their religion as the "right" one.

  • Don't forget Jeremy Irons ;D

  • What is there to "defend"? Is the movie oooh so blasphemous that it needs defending? It's a witty comedy for dog's sake.

  • for "dogma's" sake, right?

  • it's actually pretty philosophical and thought provoking in parts, especially if you just read the screenplay, especially the deleted scenes

  • I agree. But what is there to defend? Compared to 19th century atheist authors such as Nietzsche and Feuerbach, the movie is quite harmless. Every modern criticism of religion is tame and harmless. And Christians still manage to feel persecuted :) There is nothing that the modern critics need to defend themselves for. Other than being way too polite and understanding.

  • theres one simple answer to that:

Take a poll of how many Christians know who Nietzsche is, then take a poll on how many saw "Dogma"

Numbers of substantially different, making Dogma an easier target.

People these days are lazy, ya know

  • @policyguy224 well its like how they attack pagans and wiccans by saying they worship the devil and clearly they cannot tell you one thing from the Wiccan and Pagans tenets and they get it have right by saying pagans believe do what thy will but they leave out the part that says harm none do what thy will. thats why they are a epic fail and there faith is in decline

  • @policyguy224 Exactly!!! Why do so few people notice this?

  • Other than in getting 'cliiped short I thought it was some of his best work ever.... love the movie

  • One of the few GREAT British actors 2nd only to Anthony Hopkins. I also like Laurence Olivier, Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Richard Burton, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, Elizabeth Taylor, Helen Mirren, Emma Thompson and Vanessa Redgrave

    9. Joan Collins

    10. Dame Thora Hird

  • I thought Anthony hopkins was a welshman?

  • Wales is in Britain, :P

  • The Welsh dont seem to think so XP

  • Pwned.

And I'd agree with a lot of that list. Hip forgot Maggie Smith though.

  • hes known for carrying a pack of sawn off logs up his arse i wouldnt make that a great thing.

alan rickman is the best british actor ever, he was in die hard :)

  • You´ve forgotten about David Thewlis!

  • and Gary Oldman
