You got something wrong there. The tempo. You're singing it as a pop song, you starts to play it as a reggae song than you turn it into a rock song and go back to reggae.
The song is played faster than reggae, not as melodic as pop and your voice has to go along with it. You know, together. That's what makes the harmony between the melodys.

whoever posted saying try to play unchanged...well, i'm sure you don't need anyone telling you not to pay attention to views like that. the whole essence of a cover is either to reproduce it entirely as the original was; or to make it your own and make it completely distinguishable from the original. so far you've done a pretty good job of doing your own thing. so go on, keep it up. and helio123 can take his unnecessary views and ram them where the sun doesn't shine.
