I think Daniel explains and defends himself most powerfully in his song "Story Of An Artist." Being an artist — a true artist as opposed to someone who's merely famous or popular — isn't defined by slick production or perfection. It's about having an intense need to express something, and sometimes the most powerful statements are best expressed in the simplest words. His music is joy and sorrow and everything in between. THAT is why Daniel is respected and loved by so many people.

Personally I love his body of work (which there is a large discography of, which shows a lot of hard work.) It strikes a chord with me and I think his music is fantastic. Less is more.

I think his guitar skills are perfect for his lyrics and voice. Everything matches together and shows an explosion of feeling. Hes singing from the heart. You don't need to sound perfect to make mind blowing music, take Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin for example. They both have voices that can sound a little harsh sometimes, but it creates very intense and powerful music. A lot of music now is all auto tuned and doesn't have a single mistake, it's just meaningless words. Music is a form of art.
