Pretty good choreo. Remeber though, fast cuts inbetween shots adds to the action effect, and can make overall product look more polished, and give that finished effect. Overall 4 out of 5. I would like to see more ^^

I know the sword is heavy and sharp, but the pole is lightweight , easier to operate and longer.

Very good question...but fairly hard to answer antonisgs.

As that´s a fight coreographed, it´s only a demonstration of king fu tecnics with pole and sword. In a real fight there are many things involved and which makes difference such as reflexes, placement, perception( thing Bruce Lee had much more than any other fighter) and with that antecipation.

we call this a knife not a sword. a sword in chinese is called JIAN. this type of one sided weapon is called DAO which means knife.

@MrRunforyourlife The word Dao literally means "knife", which could mean an actual kitchen knive, a dagger, or the Chinese Broad sword. Any blade with one edge is called universally a "Dao". It's basically like a Chinese "Sabre", and the "sword - Jian" is the general term for any Chinese sword that is straight blade and double edge. The most common Jian seen all the time is the "Gentlemen" variation, which is kinda like a rapier.

Very nwell coreographed, but I saw you had some issues with safety of the Dao and power of the staff.

At the beginning, when you unsheathe the Dao, the cutting edge can't be in the inner side, actually it must always face outside.

And you can have more power with the staff if you straighten both arms at strike.

For just one year of training, that was awesome!

I'd recommend more cuts and a tripod (possibly with a dolly) to speed the experience up a bit.

And though the somersault at 0:48 is nice to look at, there's no real point to it.

It would have made more sense, if the Sabre had been swung at his legs, but this way it unnecessarily broke the tension of an otherwise quite pleasant to watch choreography

But I wouldn't have a chance to pull anything like that off myself, so I should probably shut up now.
