This is Herb Reed's group. Herb was the original bass singer. Buck Ram's music has spawned hundreds of tribute groups most of whom do not put tribute in front of the name when they call themselves The Platters. Herb has been around since 1955 and was president of The Platters corporation until he quit in 1969.

My guess is that this group is legally called "Herb Reed's Platters". The legal stuff started in about the early 1960's and continued as late as 2006. There were many groups that toured as "the Platters". Each spinoff group had at least one member of the 1953 Platters.

Even Tony Williams was not a member of the original 1953 Platters. He replaced his sister Lynda Hayes,
