Can you carry the bottle jus by the loop instead of all the 4 cords, or that would loosen it? Maybe it would need a square knot on the other two cords just to prevent it?

I use this knot all the time, though typically with a slip'd sheetbend instead of a double-fisherman's bend. Good to see it getting more publicity.
