They imigrated to Hawaii in late 19th century. For an example the hawaiian singer Glen Medeiros - Medeiros is a Portuguese name, and lots of other examples of last names of hawaiian surfers. Our people have a blood connection.

I read that as a small child, her younger sister couldn't pronounce "Althea"- it came out "Tia". I also read that she chose Carrere from Barbara Carrera. But that which we call a rose, by any other name, would surely smell as sweet. I think she is very beautiful, very talented, and she seems very nice. I understand she recently became a Mom (and thereby improved the gene pool.) Many thanks for an excellent video.
