Well Madhu and Shyama are connected indeed. For they love the same person I suppose. Bird is also same, that is what this song is all about. Both are asking the bird who their lover is. That Western dress is supposed to be Ghaghra and Choli worn by villagers in Haryana. Though it looks like some designer dress. And since it is supposed to be a village where Madhubala is singing, so haystacks and waterfall are not really out of place. Shyama really looks wonderful in that Saree.
@chamogaa What a contrast ! Madhu in an ill fitting Western dress skipping down the trail.Conveniently placed hay stacksEngineered water fall Shyama in a saree in a modernish house and lo and behold its the same bird is cooing in her house too.
Maybe Madhu and Shyama are connected?????????????????
A mystery indeed.
Please hold the applause for this correct comment eh gullu?
Two lovely, beaming faces; two carefree, joyful spirits; two amrit-like voices set to music by one of the most creative composers-- this to me is the very definition of paradise on earth. And Shyama's twinkles make her smile always more bewitching than anyone else's. Thank you very much , kitaabik.
It is Meena Kapoor on Shyama. And ofcourse Lata on Madhubala. Incidentally Meena happens to be the wife of Anil Biswas. Actually , Meena is a tad better than Lata in this song, though both have sung this song wonderfully. This is maybe because of Anil gave Meena the plum piece of the song. I listen to this song primarily because of Meena's part of the song. There is a tang in her voice that I like.

nahin yar, i always find madhubala same way,
like young excited girl, with that captivating smile, and that kitykat look sometimes that she gives ...
you think there is some performance of shayama that is kinda smilimar to this one of madhu's

i knows madhubala is super...but just in this song...shayama seems more charismatic than her..
