@willsbob123 No, she recorded the high note before the tour started, along with parts of some other songs, to use as playbacks. However all of these (including the very old playbacks she uses) have been re-recorded for the DVD.

On some videos from the tour it sounds like there are 2 voices singing the 'any' (at the start). This is because Celine's mic is still on as the playback starts, then her mic is faded out.
The reason why she still sang the 'any' part was in case the playback failed, so she'd have enough time to realise and do the rest live, without any embarrassment. Luckily this never happened, but at the first concert of the tour it was all live
Any more questions about her playbacks I'll be happy to answer them. I've spent the past 2 years studying her pre-recorded tracks and have had information from others about the way her sound team do everything. It's very clever.

The fact is, it was the normal playback, but they dubbed it with the original vocal recording, no effects etc. The crack in her voice during the note is heard in other concert vids, it's just less obvious with the echo and applause found in a bootleg video. Anyway she was ill why would she sing it live then?

She hardly goes out of tune when she sings live, that's a fact. And she reaches even higher notes (it's a man's world on this tour or Can't help falling in love from Vegas, to name a few).
She is still flawless compared to many other contemporary singers.
You can tell that she meant this quirp in one way or the other by the movement of her head at 1:58-1:59, she moves her head back and lets the note rip. She's gone lots higher than this, in chest or heavy mixed, and stayed in tune.

sorry but she does lip sing in her tour. She has been lip sining "the power of love" starting from the line "cause im your lady" for the past 10 yrs. She also lip sing "I drove all night" there are vids on youtube that proves it. (the play back didnt start on time) her micro was on as well as the music. Anyway i thought that "All by myself" was lip sing too, but obviously with that vid, shes not. The woman is the best singer the world will EVER have, no doubt about it.

Sorry, but what you say is all very interesting, except that it sounds like whether this runner has run this distance is unclear til the runner themself says it. This is why we were given the 5 senses, not to let us make fools of ourselves. If you can't hear it or be bothered to compare it with a couple of other vids not to go to such great lenghts and ask Celine herself or her sound-engineers, well then sorry again... get a hearing-aid!
I am sorry but all this stories about singing live (or not) are hard to believe unless the statement come from Celine herself or the sound engineer (or professionals that work directly with her) as conclusion taken from video and other sources are not really reliable, are they? Let's face it for once and for all, it's all speculation without any realistic base. But what Celine has to proof by now?
Just enjoy the show (and her voice) or then, change the "channel"! Get a life!
By way of conclusion I must say that I love Celine and was upset by that too when I found it out and was able to surface it myself thru close watching of her DVDs and a concert in Berlin. It is her job to be perfect, but as every human being she's not made of stone. But she's not the only one doing that (e.i Aguilera, Mariah but very little). She remains the great singer she was she just has to play by the showbiz rules, ladies and gents. Sad but true.
The show was nevertheless better than Las Vegas, coz there she abused the prerecorded tracks to the extent that the only strong live song remained "river deep, mountain high", the rest - I drove all night (except for the very beginning), power of love (except for the first chorus), it's all coming back to me, to love you more, I surrender (except for the final passage), my heart will go on - were all prerecorded. Yuck, it's so bubble-gum-routine-love-machine fake ((( Sorry if I upset somebody.
And to end this little competition I will say that there is no bloody "contract" that says she "cannot lipsynch", at least none of which you might know. This video is 99% live coz the passage 0:55-0:59 (and only it!) is prerecorded, which you can all enjoy in ALL her "all by myself" vids. She always does a fake jaw vibrato when she lipsynchs, which she does not live. However the concert is half fake, coz "power of love", "my heart will go on", "eyes on me" "to love you more"... are lipsynched
Her jaw wavers when she sings live anyway... it's just a little more exaggerated when it's lip-sync. There is NO way any of the songs you mentioned are lip-synced, apart from 'The Power of Love' occasionally.
Sorry for ya, whoever u r. I was the same a couple of years too, blindly ignorant of what the technology is capable of nowadays. I really don't know what you mean by occasionally as far as Power of Love, I have perfect pitch, fundamental musical background and have been to her concert, plus have seen all her DVDs. Do really have perfect pitch? I do too. It's quite rare.
As for the other stuff, I know Celine lip-syncs in parts on tour... however, when I went to see her, she only lipped the first song. The majority of what she does around the world is live- the performances of her songs are significantly different.
Don't get me wrong, I know she lip-syncs, but I also understand and respect her reasons for doing so. :)
it's in the Taking Chances contract that celine dion CAN NOT LIPSYNCH in any of her concerts during the tour. this is obviously live. listen to 1:39-1:41 and compare that to the orignial. it just goes to show how great she is at what she does when she's so flawless, ppl think she's lipsynching when she's not.
She is, without any doubt, the best: and she is singing better now as well. This is one of her best versions of this song and you can tell how much she is still holding inside. Amazing!

Come on guys this is LIVE the reason you dont hear the ANYMOOOOORE lol, note echo is because its very high and sustained, if she just belts out a straight perfect note without any runs your not going to hear an echo since its so perfectly sustained it would just blend in.

Her sustaining the note covers what echo there would be and there is a slight echo the whole time and right at the you can here it and when she goes high the second time its barely there again. When she sings with her chest, with more power backing it there is a large echo, when its in a high tone the echo is barely there throught. Check the ending higher notes.

The "anymore" high note towards the end is totally mimed...! You can tell from 2 things: (1) she struggles at the end of the long high note (as it turns back live) and (2) the last note at the end her voice almosts cracks and she has to modify the note. Interesting... the live to mimed to live is quite impressive. You have to listen to it a few times. Compare it to other posts of this song and you will see.

I agree this was TOTALLY LIVE! The end note was in a different key to normal but because she didnt quite reach the note she just decided to sing that last note differently. She is the best performer EVER! I saw her in in the o2 and she took my breath away! She gives her all every second.
obs. Almost missed out the point. Listen from the start, you can deff hear the echo to 0.48 then you can't hear it. And then at 0.54 she's singin live again.

sorry but she does lip sing in her tour. She has been lip sining "the power of love" starting from the line "cause im your lady" for the past 10 yrs. She also lip sing "I drove all night" there are vids on youtube that proves it. (the play back didnt start on time) her micro was on as well as the music. Anyway i thought that "All by myself" was lip sing too, but obviously with that vid, shes not. The woman is the best singer the world will EVER have, no doubt about it.

Tikihut1252, her voice doesn't crack, what she did was just displaying a wrong layer of high voice note...not alot of artists are able to do that without going off the actual note...amazing she is!!!

Okay, enough is enough...I have seen Celine sing live 4 times now, including opening up for Michael Bolton in the 90's and in Vegas. She does NOT lip-sync. Does NOT. Get it? And that includes "The Power of Love".

lip synching?saw her many times in the Vegas show;sometimes she forgot the words and had to be helped,kinda hard to be lip synching and forget your words; saw her also when she was sick,fifteen feet away from me she was blowing hard and struggling for every breath,lip synching?,at the soundchecks in Europe she was amazing;saw and heard her sing "My Love" walking round in a circle with no backing;only THE voice;absolutely pitch perfect the lady's a national treasure and we're lucky to have her

Sorry, but what you say is all very interesting, except that it sounds like whether this runner has run this distance is unclear til the runner themself says it. This is why we were given the 5 senses, not to let us make fools of ourselves. If you can't hear it or be bothered to compare it with a couple of other vids not to go to such great lenghts and ask Celine herself or her sound-engineers, well then sorry again... get a hearing-aid!

I am sorry but all this stories about singing live (or not) are hard to believe unless the statement come from Celine herself or the sound engineer (or professionals that work directly with her) as conclusion taken from video and other sources are not really reliable, are they? Let's face it for once and for all, it's all speculation without any realistic base. But what Celine has to proof by now?
Just enjoy the show (and her voice) or then, change the "channel"! Get a life!

By way of conclusion I must say that I love Celine and was upset by that too when I found it out and was able to surface it myself thru close watching of her DVDs and a concert in Berlin. It is her job to be perfect, but as every human being she's not made of stone. But she's not the only one doing that (e.i Aguilera, Mariah but very little). She remains the great singer she was she just has to play by the showbiz rules, ladies and gents. Sad but true.

The show was nevertheless better than Las Vegas, coz there she abused the prerecorded tracks to the extent that the only strong live song remained "river deep, mountain high", the rest - I drove all night (except for the very beginning), power of love (except for the first chorus), it's all coming back to me, to love you more, I surrender (except for the final passage), my heart will go on - were all prerecorded. Yuck, it's so bubble-gum-routine-love-machine fake ((( Sorry if I upset somebody.

And to end this little competition I will say that there is no bloody "contract" that says she "cannot lipsynch", at least none of which you might know. This video is 99% live coz the passage 0:55-0:59 (and only it!) is prerecorded, which you can all enjoy in ALL her "all by myself" vids. She always does a fake jaw vibrato when she lipsynchs, which she does not live. However the concert is half fake, coz "power of love", "my heart will go on", "eyes on me" "to love you more"... are lipsynched

Her jaw wavers when she sings live anyway... it's just a little more exaggerated when it's lip-sync. There is NO way any of the songs you mentioned are lip-synced, apart from 'The Power of Love' occasionally.

Sorry for ya, whoever u r. I was the same a couple of years too, blindly ignorant of what the technology is capable of nowadays. I really don't know what you mean by occasionally as far as Power of Love, I have perfect pitch, fundamental musical background and have been to her concert, plus have seen all her DVDs. She is a great singer, no doubt about it, but she protects her voice and does not sing demanding songs live on tour. Too bad, but it's true. Every word I said(((

Do really have perfect pitch? I do too. It's quite rare.
As for the other stuff, I know Celine lip-syncs in parts on tour... however, when I went to see her, she only lipped the first song. The majority of what she does around the world is live- the performances of her songs are significantly different.
Don't get me wrong, I know she lip-syncs, but I also understand and respect her reasons for doing so. :)

it's in the Taking Chances contract that celine dion CAN NOT LIPSYNCH in any of her concerts during the tour. this is obviously live. listen to 1:39-1:41 and compare that to the orignial. it just goes to show how great she is at what she does when she's so flawless, ppl think she's lipsynching when she's not.

I SERIOUSLY doubt with all my mind this IS NOT lipped.
Her sustaining the note covers what echo there would be and there is a slight echo the whole time and right at the you can here it and when she goes high the second time its barely there again. When she sings with her chest, with more power backing it there is a large echo, when its in a high tone the echo is barely there throught. Check the ending higher notes.
Celines hair is fake, her singing in this performance IS NOT.

Let me preface this by saying i LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Celine Dion.
The "anymore" high note towards the end is totally mimed...! You can tell from 2 things: (1) she struggles at the end of the long high note (as it turns back live) and (2) the last note at the end her voice almosts cracks and she has to modify the note. Interesting... the live to mimed to live is quite impressive. You have to listen to it a few times. Compare it to other posts of this song and you will see.

I agree this was TOTALLY LIVE! The end note was in a different key to normal but because she didnt quite reach the note she just decided to sing that last note differently. She is the best performer EVER! I saw her in in the o2 and she took my breath away! She gives her all every second.
