The Media really is softballing Palin. If they weren't they'd give some facts like-when arch conservative Christopher Buckley endorsed Obama-he said specifically it was because Palin was not ready to lead.

Reagan appointee Charles Fried was advising the McCain campaign, then resigned over the nomination of Palin and announced he had voted for Obama.

IMHO -if McCain's campaign hadn't keep Palin away from the media, she'd have damaged her reputation even more than she already has.
