  • @stealthinsweden As a security guard (and flashaholic) I 100% agree with you. My favourite model is the AA Mini Maglite, but now it has a Terralux Upgrade for longer runtime. Among other brands, I also have some Led Lensers (P3, M1, P7, T7) their zoom is better than the Maglite but... You should try the new P6, very similar to a Mag

  • @stealthinsweden The D10 is infintely variable in output from 3 lumens to 145 lumens. That's the brightness range of a Maglite solitaire to the brightness of a 5D maglite in a package that's a little bigger than chapstick.

    The P20A2 has 3 settings 230 lm, 60 lm, and 5 lm.

I do like Maglites though. Obviously, since I have 4 or 5 of them.

  • @entoptics Would have really liked to see a multimode Rebel Mini Mag in this one, as well as the incan. It would have provided the "missing link" as well as current gen apples to apples comparison with the higher end lights.

And while the Nitecore is a good edc the longer 2xAA form factor is a better household light ergonomically. Shame about the "Sit in the dark for 2 seconds to avoid the blinky modes mode" on the Mini Mag. A low low would have been nice as an alternative.

  • Cool comparison. Makes Maglite look useless...

  • @MountainPsy Any Maglite can have now led upgrades. from 700 to 30 lumens for few bucks, usually 140 lumens

  • @newhuskytwenty Unfortunately I have tried a Maglite led before. It was my first led torch. I was amazed with it at first but then the little circuit board inside the torch failed after only a month. I went back to the shop only to find they had removed all the 3 aa cell LED Maglites from the shelves. Maglite USA did however offer to repair the torch. I decided to rather try a different brand and now have a couple of the excellent 4sevens lights as well as a couple Nitecores. Way better!

  • @MountainPsy Never tried a factory made led Maglite, although I have a 3D and a mini AA with Terralux 16¡40 lumens upgrades that work perfectly from many months ago , my tiny AAA mini Mag maybe will have a Terralux led someday, but It will only get 30 lumens with it, so I am not decided yet. I got four Led Lenser models, Fenix and some other brands. My upgraded Mag are my favourites

  • @newhuskytwenty I still have a couple of the AAA mini mags lying around. I used to have a 3D but it got stolen... It would be interesting to try some of the upgrade options with the Maglites. It's still a legendary brand at the end of the day.
