@ZxE73 wow..heartbreaking! its a circus that has no nets, a carnival that travels at mach speed.. anyone who knows what its really all about will tell you.. the price of admission is heavy
Jake e lee is my favorite player from ozzy but whoever produced the bark at the moon album did a terrible job listen to the tracks on that album they bury jake in the mix the songs would have had so much more potential if jake was turned up more
@earlyblue umm jake admitted himself that he was nothing compared to rhoads. Look at the documentary "the last train home" and he did not leave any thing to look up to like Rhoads did. Jake is good but vice versa, Randy IS GOD
After learning & playing nearly every Ozzy song recorded up through the mid 90's.I will say Randy was an originator & incredibly gifted player..through years of practice & the only reason I ever began playing guitar..yet technically I agree with you Jake was the best of Ozzy's players. Zakk..did a fine job of taking both of their blueprints & adding his own over the top vibrato, chicken picken & pinch harmonics..but just changed order of the Riffs Randy & Jake already wrote.
@motleycrue24 I totally agree, EXCEPT it was the 80's and everything was way over done. I remember trying my hardest to find live recording of my favorite bands(and I still do today) so I could hear the raw guitars. All those "imperfections" that the studio covered up and blended away in the mix were my favorite parts. All that over production was par during that era.
How do you get just the guitar out of the track? It would be really cool to hear some of Jimmy Page's Guitar Army tracks like Achilles Last Stand and Ten Years Gone!
@ZxE73 to the best of my knowledge this utterly untrue.. his departure came at the peak and due to ozzys alcoholism and drug addition.. further, he was invited back on at least one occasion, but declined..
@ddcraver@ZxE73 for the record, i was present at the us festival the first time they played live together, and although there was initial concerns about how the gig would be received, it was clear almost immediately that jake was equally proficient technically.. though somewhat more soulful and bluesy stylistically..
@ddcraver@ZxE73 ozzy was completely out of control at this point.. tommy lee relates a story during this time when he and ozzy were alone together in a room, and ozzy crapped on the floor and started spreading all over the walls.. imagine having the best gig you could ever hope to have.. and having to navigate through situations like that on a daily basis..
In every gig there are obstacles & most times drugs & drinking are at the center of them. I know that scenario all too well..having just fired 2 bandmates for the same thing after seeing how they are on the road. To put blame on any one person isn't fair. I do not know ozzy..jake on the other hand..well sadly..for years & still he's not been able to kick the "habits". I do agree though..Jake was every bit as technically sound as ANY guitarist from the 80's including Randy.
for rock I totally agree, this is the sh*t!!!.stumble rythm takes this song over the top, not an easy lick to do with precision, he makes it all look so easuy when laying it down live too, never misses a lick.Jake E is one pof the great unsung players truth!
0:31 - 0:42 There are not many players today who can fret a guitar like this and make it sound like Jake did. Almost like a fucking keyboard. I HATE out of tune guitars, and Jake obviously hated them too. One of my favorite ozzy guitar players......YOU BET!
@BrianLuper I totally agree! but from 0.31 to 0.42 it's two guitars playing, also he's playing with not too much distortion so you can clearly hear all the chords and each single tone. Jake E. Lee is my favourite ozzy guitarist too
i did not apreciate this when it was. he had great tone and his tune if its his betrays more then scale level theory ..i might even wager that he is now a maestro of the first rank..you young guys out there playing just remember talent is desire converted into action..the concept of talent being a lucky draw is total marxist obama propaganda
This makes Jake the baddest ass ever. Even more than before.

Jake was amazing. But brother, it was his heroin addiction that forced their hand.
