Only if you want to start with real good gear. Man, I started out with some belt drive Gemini turntables and a Realistic mixer I bought at yard sale for $10. For speakers I used a friends stereo system. If you want to dj, you'll find a way to get into it. Don't let anything stop you from doing what you want to do. Peace.

u REALLY dont know what ur talking about. first off, stantons are not and will NEVER be standard. their noisy direct drive and shitty housing make them a bad turntable. second, 3 times better than 1200s??? ur a fucking retard. and 3rd, when buying djing gear, u get what u pay for. simple.

do you have any problems with those cdx's? i've heard so many horror stories about them but i really want them. i was thinking about just getting hdx's but they're like a grand a piece

I've had mine for 4 years and no problems yet. I've heard stories also, but for me they've been cool. You should also check out the Denon's. They also have the spinning platter and feel more like turntables, but I don't know too much about them as far as how durable they are.

thats what i've been using, the denon dn-s3500's. they're EXTREMELY durable. they've never once acted up on me or my friend who has them.

That's cool. I was actually thinking of getting the Denon DN-HS5500 later this year. It smaller than the CDX and I like the feel of it. If I were you i'd stay with denon's if you're happy with them.
