  • at least you have a first aid kit most people dont

  • My Gerber saw (same one) broke in 25-35F weather....coghlan broke, wire saw doesn't cut anything practical even as a back up, and laplander/kershaw works alright but I wouldn't trust it for a long period of time or regular heavy use circumstances.....only thing I have found that is flawless is to carry a 12,15, and 20in blade with a couple bolts, washers and wing nuts and make your bow saw handle right after getting a small fire built.....only thing that has worked without fail and is durable a

  • thanks

  • Do you walk around in public looking like this? Or just the woods??

  • Incredible video! It was very informative and interesting. Great kit! Don't know how this video has a dislike button... I have been very interested in the pouch you hold your Basic Wilderness Survival Kit in, I have been watching this and other videos that have your kit numerous times looking for some sort of brand name on it, but I can't. Do you think you could tell us what brand it is?? Through video, e-mail, or comments, I just want to know how to get one! Please reply and again. great video

  • @Osibis6 Thanks for the kind comment. Its made by a company by the name of "Rothco". Got it at an army surplus store for under 10 bucks. Thanks again

  • @ryanjcus Cool! Thank you very much for the speedy quick reply Ryan! You can just discredit the comment similar to my original comment on your Basic Wilderness Survival Kit and Contents video. Thanks again!

  • nice ass. hahahahhaa

  • It's nice to see him get out of the basement once in a while. It gives his parents some "alone" time.

  • Im really frickin tired of all this tactical stuff! What happened to leather, wool, canvas, wood all the time tested and proven materials? And if it isnt as good why are all the good wool jackets, canvas tents, etc., twice as much as this new crap? WOOL does not melt, get holes from ashes or suck heat from your body when wet, so we trade all that for what? to save weight, and look "tactical". The old materials have stood the test of time, and true survival with the pioneers of this country.

  • Im not sure if thats the best way to carry your gear. I think you covered all the essentials but for hiking long distances with that belt on your hips, your gonna wish you had like a shoulder strap or something to eliviate all that weight on your hips. Atleast in my experience.

  • Is there anyway I can mount my dog to this belt?

  • u should probably switch the position of the medkit with the survival kit bc if u get hurt it might be hard for u to get to it

  • I totally agree. If you keep essentials on a belt, you will most likely have them with you, even if you are separated from a backpack.

  • Fuck i thought you were about to be mauled by a wolf at 2:10

lmfao, cute dog dude, I bet he/she would be good for helping catch small game too.

  • I wear the same outfit to church every sunday morning. Lot os room on my pew and they don't ask fr money.

  • do you have a pet survival kit?

  • please take this as some tips, and not critisism. but its not a good bug out kit because you lack alot of fundamental needs.

    food, shelter, fire.

my suggestion is get some cotton balls soaked in vasaline and charcloth. and a flint and steel or firesteel striker.

a rain pancho (ripstop is much lighter) would be ideal for both shelter and protection.

food.... well you should carry something other than just water. even a snack bar for an energy boost.

i also recomend an led headlamp.

  • @yourredcomrade717 Thanks, but this is not a bug out kit. Take a look at my channel and other videos. You'll see exactly what you just suggested plus more. I appreciate your respectable comment though. Be Safe

  • @yourredcomrade717 He has more than water. He has food. Remember the MRE in his first pouch up front that he showed us? DUH!

  • do you have a review on your canteen

  • where did you get your large survival knife and foldable saw pls. respond

  • Great video Ryan. Thanks. ~Wolf

  • dude you don't have to say survival in front of stuff

  • epic vid ryan!

am telling you man you should totally make and sell kits dude, ud make a killing!

  • Good video, but leave the gun at home

  • thats a nice dog...i want him...how much??

  • are those shades ur wearing oakly's

  • at :52 into the video, was that multitool a leatherman surge?

  • Ryan, in this video you look like a dork! :) But, you have survival gear instead of pocket protector. However, still best preparedness vid. Thanks

  • Ha Ha! Thanks.....I must of left the pocket protector at home!!! I wont forget it next time!! Be Safe -Ryan

  • @ryanjcus Lol. You're a sexy dork.

  • can mre's be eaten cold i was wondering

  • @nroc13 yes MREs can be eaten cold and sometimes they taste better that way.

  • umm the belts are at any military store they bags too and vest and anything else he have i explored the stores when i first seen the video

  • where can i buy the pistol belt and the belt bags

  • Any military surplus store.

  • Your stainless steel D2 blade will ship soon in cold conditions.

  • are you a law enforcment officer?

  • The fact that you keep your 1st aid kit out of reach and your gun in reach says a lot about who you are.

  • LOL its all within reach!

  • @boomtao same could be said if his first aid kit was 'within' reach and firearm was 'not' in reach.. It's all arbitrary when said and done. now stfu..

    good response Ryanjcus...

  • Great vid, great dog, great info! What kind of belt are you using and where'd you order it from?

  • Watch out with that Gerber saw. I have the exact same one. I was cutting a tree and the blade snapped in half and gave me a nasty cut. Anyways great kit 5 stars.

  • Good looking GSD!!!

Enjoy her company my friend... One day she'll be gone... GSD's are the best!

  • great idea ryan!5 stars.

  • Ryanjcus you look like a police officer!

  • how much was the military pistol belt

shadow is a great dog she is trained well way to go ryan

  • Ryan, Great Video, i currently working on my own belt kit also. You've got some great ideals!!

  • sorry if this is kinda weird but you look like a policeman, are u?

  • Maybe he's military? That's my guess.

    Nice belt too...

  • look more like a park ranger to me.

  • Great Vid...Nice Dog..They make packs for dogs too..Put em to work!

  • are the packs detachable? because its kinda hard to reach the first aid kit....

shadow's an awesome dog...and you would definetly survive a zombie outbreak...(sorry i started thinking of "I Am Legend" after seeing the dog)

  • Yes, they are all detachable. This setup has changed a significant amount since the vid. I need to start noting that on these vids. My gear is always improving and being modified to get the best preformance. Not to say that this wouldn't be a great kit. Shadow eats zombies for breakfast LOL. Thanks Buddy

  • belts are good but i wouldnt have all that just because i think it would be a pain to take that on or off all the time to relax and if u dont it would start to bother be but nice vid

  • What kind of situation are you refering too? You pack gear based on the situation.

  • Ah the true bushcrafter... taking nothing but photographs, leaving nothing but footprints. Moving like a gentle breeze through gods beautiful land.... and emptying a whole magazine in to anything that 'looks at you the wrong way'.

  • Shadow definitely looks like a bad ass dog!

  • Nice kit! Best thing to have over rough terrain, I live and hike in northeast mountains and have a similar kit. I carry a large pack for camp and a waist kit like yours without the glock.

  • GOOD STUFF MAN ,ENJOYED IT

  • This video made me think i was in boot camp again. Lol

  • Great set up. You look very professional in the video. With that set up and a small back pack you could survive for quite a while depending on amount of skill you have. Thanks again. Jet over and out

  • Hey Ryan, Just picked up a Blackhawk LRRP Buttpack in coyote brown to go on my pistol belt below my tac vest. I'm gonna give it a shot as the mutha of all belt type survival kits! I'll let ya know how it works out.

  • Sound sweet!! I'll have to look it up. Keep me updated. Later

  • Good system for those who don't have room to store a full size pack, or want something to keep in the car...Great video.

  • Very good video. Thats an excellent carrying system; handy and it's weight is most likely centered on the body. All in all, a good choice!

  • Great vid man. looks like an excellent way to "grab 'n' go" in a hurry and be pretty well prepared for just about anything.

  • Thanks Jeep. Very True, easy to grab and your ready to go.

  • great video man as usual.

Love that set up. I use a Maxpedition Fatboy shoulder pack but i want to experiment and use your belt set up. Looks more efficient.

BTW- love that knife. Its a Kershaw Outcast?

I have to check that out.

    5/5 stars

  • Thanks Bud, I did a review on the outcast on the sameday and posted it, before this vid. Check it out if you get a chance.

  • holy shyte bro, u looked like a state trooper at the first of this vid lol. all you need now is a ruck sack and i will pick you up and we'll head to Iraq too kick some arse five stars A+++ BTW no offense to any Iraque watching this vid. LMAO

  • I guess so, somone else left a comment on my channel. I didn't realize it when I was out there. I'm gonna go pull some people over tonight.LOL Thanks for the support and rating!

  • Great stuff if you dont need to carry a pack. Shadow seems to be a bit of a camera hog in this video.

Looking forward to the next batch of videos dude.

    5 Stars again

  • Maybe It's my height(6'2"), but I don't have problems wearing my Medium Alice Pack, with the Pistol Belt. I also can wear it with other bags and packs that I own. I'll post a video sometime Of Me completly geared up. Yeah, I let shadow think shes a movie star.lol. Just wanna say, Thanks for your constant support, ratings, comments. They are very much appreciated. Later man

  • Excellent vid! I think I will go to cabelas soon and get one. The only problem I see is that It will probably be very hard to wear a backpack and wear the belt at the same time, but other than that it sounds like a great thing to have.

  • Thanks for the comment, In the video I mentioned that you can wear alot of packs(depending on size) including an alice. Thanks bro.

  • o ya, I guess you could if it is a smaller pack. once again, great vid!

  • excellent:)

  • Much appreciated. Love your vids man.
