Can someone help me out here...on APB...the given lyric is 'macrobiotic stuff', but no matter how closely I listen to it still sounds like '*micro*biotic stuff'....anyone else?...
Yes, sure there are technical issues with the Atom Heart Mother suite, it does sound a bit uneven and demoey here and there. However, the great tune and that eternally wonderful Floyd sonic texture mean that there is far more good than dodgy about the piece.
I was listening to the egg cooking sound at the last track - Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, when I suddenly smelled frying eggs !!! and I was like OMG, totaly mulit-sensual experience !!!
turns out my roomate was making an omlete right on time ! yeah !
Damn! Haven't heard this since my smokey bear days back home on the other end of the world!! No no -not alucinating!! (true!) But it's still mind blowing again ... yeah where's that joint?
To put the record straight, think there are a lot of girls on the net but not that many uploading on Youtube -even less so into ProgRock!! Am I right PinkVintage007?
It's a great upload and thanks! You have good taste or lived the day..or both.
@soundspur You're right. There are a shortage of Floyd Girls. & Thank You. I am 22 so def did not live the day, but this is the only taste I've ever really had! :)
I always remember someone at the roundhouse camden london during the funky part, between about 10 .00 to 14.00 punching the air energetically on each beat, with a variation on the idiot dance.
Sometimes, Pink Floyd is scaring me... It's just brilliant, but I'm always a little scared by their music... But I keep listening to it, cause it's awesome. :D
does it not sound like sumting on the x factor ...........NO.........it does not...this is good shit wiv some vibrato..oo,oo and hamond organ ....thank fuk for dave and roger and the boys......god bless Richard
What a flash-back. I haven't heard this album in it's entirety for almost 35 years. I must have flogged it in those days because it all came back as the album unfolded. Why did I leave it so long? Children.

@johnozzyboy no, no, no... not indeed.. it's a FACT that that same cow stars in the first ; "BEVERLY HILLS COP" movie, with Eddie Murphy.. so she claimed her 15 minutes of fame, better than the both of us.. lol
1. "Atom Heart Mother" I. "Father's Shout" II. "Breast Milky" III. "Mother Fore" IV. "Funky Dung" V. "Mind Your Throats, Please" VI. "Remergence" Gilmour, Mason, Waters, Wright, Ron Geesin Instrumental 23:44 2. "If" Waters Waters 4:31 3. "Summer '68" Wright Wright 5:29 4. "Fat Old Sun" Gilmour Gilmour 5:22 5. "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" I. "Rise and Shine" II. "Sunny Side Up" III. "Morning Glory"
Pink Floyd story - I was in hospital. It was about 1:00am and I was in a lot of pain. The nurse gave me lots of pain killers and sleeping tablets. I took them and put this album on. I was laying on my back with a cool breeze blowing over me. This album combined with the drugs was fucking incredible. I literally left like I was flying backwards. I'll never forget it, ever! It was the highlight of my 2 weeks in hospital.
Saying that.... I still enjoy this album when I'm not sedated. Love it!
If you're in a hurry and don't have 52 minutes to kill (you should be shamed if you don't, It's worth the listen) But if you can't, some brilliant keyboard from Wright and wicked back up from Gilmour starts around 9:56 ...but it's pretty much all good...
@StrawberryJungle You are a girl..(perfect..!) Your in love..(perfect..!) With Pink Floyd..(perfect..!) And try to be perfect..(perfect..!) So..; feel perfect..!! your better than best dear StrawberryJungle.. Take that on the heart.. lol
O Ow. What was i missing this sound. Good heavens, listening after years to this masterpiece i realize: they were their time ahead. Influences from Africa/India etc etc. Thanks for the upload.!!!
Atom Heart Mother absolutely amazes me. I am a classical music fan, and I love the way this music is structured. It tells a story in musical notes. I wish it could be listenned to in the musical tone that it creates. Beautiful.
@Nelson676 I've always loved it and I mean always - this record was given to me when I was 6...very intense experience at that age (sometimes scary, sad, at other times soothing, relaxing etc...).The b-side is probably Pink Floyd's underrated piece of vinyl ("Summer '68! wow!).And the track "Atom Heart" is beautifu here, and live too, even without the brass and choir, the main theme is just beautiful.
wow, girl. Thank you so much for this gift. Wonderfull album. Pink Foyd will ever be in our minds, souls and "atom hearts". 4 ever Gilmour, Wright + , Waters, Mason & Barrett + ...

@kotjay I think it might be Pink Floyd members ; they HATE it !!. Don't know why ; I always loved it. I had it as a precocious 8 year old rock music fan in 1971 !. How could the Floyd dislike it so much ?. Maybe they're referreing only to the title track, as side two is my favourite with the songs on it
@TheKenfig That doesn't fully explain why Gilmour performed 'Fat Old Sun' in Venice just a few year ago.I was lucky enough to be be there on vacation and the concert was fabulous but there was such a down-pour that night and very few people stayed till the end! I have been listening to all of Floyd since I was 14 ( now over 50!) and can always find an appropriate track/album to suit my mood....
@kotjay I followed them from arnold layne onwards, and even after syd barrett s abscence they retained that quirky organic slightly mysterious feel , as on atom heart mother and ummagumma, with cultural references to diverse influences as vaughn williams and the beach boys. from meddle that gradually disappeared which was symptomatic of the more mainstream approach that came in the 70s.
@puddypuss...You're absolutely spot-on..through out their 'evolution' from 'Piper' there remains an unmistable thread of genius (for want of a better word) . culminating in The Division bell ,which has some of the finest and cleverly-constructed lyrics they have ever matched with sound. ( hope this kinda makes sense?!)
I would love it if my sisters would let me play the whole of it. But they get so annoyed because you can't "dance to it" and it's not "3 minutes long" :( shame, the only like shit music....
Storm Thorgerson, inspired by Andy Warhol's famous "cow-wallpaper," has said that he simply drove out into a rural area near Potters Bar and photographed the first cow he saw. The cow's owner identified her name as "Lulubelle III" :-)
i still dont understand why the band hates this album so much. i think it's one of the best albums they've ever done. right up there with Animals. in fact, this is so opposite to that album that it's like night and day

I hope it's right, because I'm not a native english speaker :)

@mschlafli
It's just because the uploader said, he couldn't upload some albums due to copyrights. So I asked if he could upload ummugumma and saucerful of secrets INSTEAD
I hope it's right, because I'm not a native english speaker :)
