Smoothness is effected by many things.... for example I'm in a public library reading your comment and checking the video. It plays smoothly for about 10 seconds, then pauses for a bit to wait for more data to flow in.
YouTube used to be good about converting Photo Story 3 files to flash, but lately it's been pretty poor. Vimeo is a good, even better, place to put stories.
when i try to uplaod my photo story 3 video to youtube it says that it failed to convert the file or it was unable to recognise it but its .WMV so do u know why its doing this?
Ok, I tried saving it to the shared file using both the movie maker and the photo story examples only the computer still does not recognize them, wants to know what program they are written on.
You can upload the story file directly to YouTube... which gives you higher quality then processing it through Movie Maker. That's what I did with this one. I made custom profiles for Photo Story 3 and Movie Maker to use when heading to YouTube... it's a download on my website's Distribute Movie's > YouTube page.
But it could be that YouTube converts things today to lower quality than it used to?? Good luck.
Yeah. Neither could I, so I just gave up. But I figured out that if you have Windows Movie Maker on your computer then you can take the wmv movie file from photostory and import it onto Moviemaker and just make that into a movie. It worked for me and it uploaded. Hope that helps :)
Thanks, Peaches. One can also use an alternative like Veoh dot com (which took my photostory wmv without hassle), and then syndicate it to YouTube. Very easy. Great to have alternatives.

Maybe you're trying to use the PS3 project file and not the saved story in WMV form. That wouldn't work on YouTube, or in Movie Maker.

i tried to convert it to windows movie maker but that didn't work either???

yes, you would save it... and follow the info on the page about where to put it so it's seen by Movie Maker and Photo Story.

I'd like to help, but I don't have the time to provide such detailed support here in YouTube... a daily comment would take too long to help you.
I suggest using the forums at windowsmoviemakers dot net --- where a number of supporters hang out.

Yeah, others have pointed that out too. Look, I am not too computer savy. When I click on it, I would pick "save", right, not "run" and then save to?
I want my stuff to look as well as yours. Thanks in advance.

This is great! I also did the old Photostory3, take it over to movie maker, then to youtube only...my photo story looks like steaming pixel hell!
WHat is your trick? Was there a certain setting you found worked best?
Please share!!

Hi... it's easy, just upload the story file (wmv) and YouTube will convert it into the flash file.
