  • I remeber the big husky.

  • that straw hat suggests the influence of shakey's & farrell's.

  • That sounded like Hardee's Big Twin. I remember the Huskee burger too. It was sort of like a Whopper. But they sometimes bring back the Big Twin. They are still good.

  • dont forget the special sauce.

  • Huskee Jr? Isn't that the same as a regular Hardees burger? So what is a big burger? Hardees Plus Size? Jumbo Mini?

  • And this kid thought Tony C's was fun

  • what a square

  • "Well we got trouble/Right here in River City" . . . somewhere out there, Robert Preston is spinning in his grave. Everybody sing the jingle with me now: "Hurry on down to Hardee's/Where the burgers are charcoal-broiled!"

  • I used to take a Hardee Husky Shit after one of those gross things.

  • The Hardee’s logo color scheme in this vintage commercial resembles the couch used by MARK GALfione, GIOVANNI, and Robert Christian in a 2010 Top Dog production. The video title says this commercial is from 1972, which was the same year North Carolina—the state where Hardee’s began—elected arch conservative Jesse Helms to the U.S. Senate over U.S. Rep. Nick GALifANakis (maybe 2648 University Dr., durHAM, NC 27707). Despite another from durHAM, Top Dog’s GIOVANNI more resembles the Jersey Rican

  • Whatever happened to the original"Hardees"animated tv commercial icons?

    "Gilbert Giddyap" and"Speedy McGreedy"?

  • Allan Baker is the Music Man in this ad.

  • I gotta friend you for that commercial retro. I was under 1 years of age, but grew to love Hardees Breakfast sammiches...

  • I LOVED Hardees steak biscuit , go anywhere and try to find a steak biscuit, you wont find them, its always the same old Sausage,Ham, or Bacon and Egg biscuit, why is it that no one ever liked the steak biscuit?

  • Hardees was awesome but they made an incredible mistake around 1990. They started buying up all the Roy Rogers to convert them to Hardees. They had too many Hardees restaurants as the demand for Hardees was not the same as McDonalds. They found out too late... Plus, I always thought Roy Rogers was 200% better. I hear Roy Rogers is making a come-back and have been building up the East coast to the Mid-West. Hardees had the BEST breakfast items.

  • I remember the Hardee's Husky burger, it was almost like a Whopper.

  • Weren't there a series of Hardee's cartoon commercials from this same time period with a man who talked like Humphrey Bogart and his pet elephant that were always trying to swipe a Hardee's hamburger?

  • Garden maybe it was Mike Huckabee

  • @wkat950 Now that I've watched it again, the guy DOES look a lot like Sean Hannity.

  • its a parody of the music man musical

  • The kid behind the counter reminds me of Micky Dolenz.

  • @visor109 Reminds me of Donny Osmond.

  • @MrLogoman007 OK, I'll give you that one. He LOOKS like Donny Osmond, but still reminds me of Micky Dolenz. And the kid, he looks like Bobby Brady.

  • I remember this commercial.

Doesn't it appear that the guy working the counter almost kicks the kid in the face when he vaults the counter?

  • I was negative 2 years old back then, Hardee's commercials have always been a little hokey

  • Ha, I was born in 1972.

It's cool that the kid at the counter can bring back the memory of this to people who saw it back then. A little early for me, but still cool.

  • that guy reminded me of Donny Osmond lol

  • Kid looks like Bobby Brady

  • Where the burgers are "Charco-broiled!"

  • Dude looks like Jack Black.

  • iwas 2yr old

  • I remember the Hardee's commercials from the 70's that were done to the tune of "Hello Dolly"

    Hello Hardees, well hello Hardees....

  • I do believe that it was their answer to the Big Mac. I got

paid a whopping $60 dollars and I can remember they flew in from Houston about 2 dozen "special" hamburger buns for shoot.

  • cool

  • Very cool to see commercials from people that were actually in them. Even though I was just a kid in the 70s, I miss it.

  • Was that the Hardees answer to the Big Mac?

  • Wow, you were cute - nice commercial!

  • I remember Hardees at that time. They were in round buildings that had a weird swooping roof with sharp edges at different points.

  • Yep, we had one of those funky roof locations in my hometown growing up in SC.. and then they converted to the rectangular orange roofs which were a Hardee's trademark for decades. I even remember the orange smocks and getting a free paper chefs hat.

  • Columbia or Spartenburg ?

  • Actually, neither. It was Greenwood, a mill town which is about 44 miles south of Greenville on US 25.

  • I use to visit my grandmother's in Spartenburg, I always remember seeing a common house down the road from hers & everyone saying "Thats the man who owns the Sparten Foods Company" provider of foods to the Hardees company. I remember the old Hardees there, it was small & believe it was made if red tile.
