  • if there were five michael jordans on one team it be like watching basketball in heaven

  • This is the year Jordan peaked athletically IMO. In 1989 it looked like he was playing with rockets attached to his shoes. His first step explosiveness was incredible.

  • i wish hi was on my team

  • this is so fukin crazy they also win this way...fuckin amazing

  • Beautiful

  • No matter how many time I think I've seen it all from #23, he always amazes me with his unparalleled all-around game. The most COMPLETE player I've seen by far... He literally could do ANYTHING!!

  • crazy shot at 3:08 wow !!

  • RIDICULOUS!!!!!

  • look at the clutch!!!

  • 3:29 look how far he is standing from the free throw line

  • There's no need to comment. This video speaks for itself.

  • wow simply d BEST

  • One of the Greatest Shots & Sequences at the Conclusion of this Game nobody had Moments like Jordans! The Cameras flashing even on Free Throws like a Messaihs is playing Basketball. Epic Game !! Jus like John Paxson said watching Michael was an Honor only he got to Play on the same Team with him. Kobe has moments that are Great but, not Epic!!! Jordan allday !! & Forever..

  • Yep The Greatest Athelete or the Best Sports Icon Ever! along with Ali & Babe Ruth !! Etc...

  • he was good

  • That was pretty cool.

  • thanks hoopsencyclopedia

  • in my top 10 of best games. in an amazing atmosphere, bucks play very well but but MJ forces the destiny, 27 4th QT pts with one of his top 3 game winner IMO

  • I think it is the best winning shot ever

    no one can stop Jordan

  • @jimmychuang No the one against the Cavs on Eilo

  • No flopping. A beautiful thing to see.

  • Mark Davis (#23 for the bucks): there can be only one! Look at the way he fell in the clutch at 5:11.

  • He definately should have won MVP award this year as well. He came extremely close to averaging a triple doube with over 30 PPG Season I might add. Thats Oscar Robertson close. I honestly feel like the NBA wanted to squeeze in a few MVP awards to Magic to compete with Birds 3 consecutive MVPs. You have to remember even now with MJ putting up these huge numbers he was still considered a one man show at this time. This was still the Laker/Celtic era. MJ sealed GOAT status when he 3peated.

  • Whoops..Keller

  • How the hell was he not MVP this year. Also lead the league in steals?? Who's judging this award..Helen Kellar..I mean WTF. Just look at the stats..sometimes I feel winning a title really shouldn't hold as much weight as it seems especially when the team is allstar packed

  • he is the greatest. you never see performances like this anymore..let alone a crowd that into a game. this was my favorite time in the NBA

  • Watch the win over the knicks by the heat where wade had 24 points in the 4th quarter and they won by 3, they were down by 13 wiht 8 minutes left, the crowd went bonkers

or the 3ot win over the bulls wade had 48

or the win in 2006 over the #1 seed pistons that won 64 games the year the heat won the title, they were eliminated ECF the year before and wade dropped 24 in the 4th plus the gamewinner for 42 points and the crowde went bonkers

  • i wonder why he shot a couple of free throws from so far way??? he prob felt he was a little long that night...dunno. peace

  • Yes, he shot a foot from FTL in some games, when he felt the FTs as a little longer distance. Good tactics.

  • wow

  • look how far he's shooting his free throws...damn

  • Amazing performance. I've never even heard of this game or seen it in Jordan's highlights. Shows how great MJ was, this game would have been the num1 highlight for 99.99% of nba players

  • man i would do a lot of things to be able to have gone to a game like that

  • lol Mj made that guy fall when he took the game winning shot

  • Lebron Kobe Wade......Eat your hearts out!!....M Air jordan 4eva

  • too bad his retired

  • The best....

  • I Saw michael jordan at the mlwaukee bucks game yesterday. He was on the big screen and everyone was all happy i was shocked :] He still looks the same.

  • almost dropped a tear

  • If MJ played like he did from '84-'93, and '96-'98 today, how high would his FG% and PPG be?

  • MJ's FG% with a hand in his face.. around 50%... With no hand in his face.. right around 65%. PPG at around 45 if he played in the 84-93.... and maybe around 38 PPG if he played in the 96-98 years..

  • Its almost scary how amazing MJ was. As great as Lebron is, its almost insulting for them to even be compared. MJ is just on a whole other level. Greatest athlete of all-time in my opinion.

  • @NastyNasIllmatic Lebron isn't even as good as Dwayne Wade, who in turn, isn't quite as good overall as Kobe. Kobe is FAR below Jordan, for the simple reason that his defense is galaxies away from Michael's dominance at the position. Not to mention that while Kobe's offense is superb, neither is it as near Jordan's level as it is often portrayed.

  • @NastyNasIllmatic completely agree. People compare Kobe to MJ all the time and the thing is that they're games are completely different. Kobe has always shot way more 3s and although he does post-up now, he doesn't do it nearly as often as Jordan did at the end of his career. Not to mention Kobe is a career 46% shooter. MJ was over 50% before he played in Washington. MJ knew his game and knew that nobody was going to stop him. Kobe tries to impress people by scoring in difficult ways.

  • noone will ever come close....

  • "he tries to shoot one from out of bounds" LMAO!

  • The Jordan Rules.

  • Pause it at 5:22. In my opinion, this is the definition of jumping for joy :o) I wish I could be able to jump like that...

  • i was wondering is there any player leads in the scoring as well as in steals other than MJ?

  • not positive but there is a high possiblity that allen iverson did both

  • If there ever was one player better than everyone else on the court then it was MJ. He must have been made in a God-like image to play professional basketball.

  • GOD MAYBE?

  • this was the day before he turned 26.

  • 27 points in the 4th

  • the best player ever!

  • ahh... sportschannel. those were the days

  • Air Jordan. The best.

  • H.E. wrote: "A most amazing stat was that MJ was shooting 55% for the year this deep into the season for 7th place in the NBA in FG% while scoring 34.2 ppg."

    Holy Sh..

  • you can shoot from out of bounds?

  • This sounds dumb but the '87-'89 Jordan is my favorite Jordan! Probably because athletically he was at his absolute peak during these years. He often reminds me of a panther or something. Quickness, Grace, Power, he had everything..

  • There is NOTHING dumb about that..I'm a huge Jordan fan and I believe he was in his true prime in '89. Ofcourse, since he hadnt won a title yet at that time you'll never hear anyone say the '89 MJ was the best one..its either '93 MJ or '96-97(which is insane to say if you followed him closely).

  • In '89 he was the complete package..physically and mentally superior to all. Honestly, if you put the '89 MJ in todays league he would shut the it down..no joke. Without the handcheck and rough play, he would own this league like a college player going back to high school and playing.

  • I agree, he would avarage like 40pts per game on 60% shooting..

  • :27 he is shooting almost 55% , unheard of for a 2-guard in the days of hand checking

  • yeah thats legit, there are not even close to as many skilled centers nowadays either, jordan played in one of the toughest eras of the nba

  • Or an NBA player going back to college and playing ;)

  • @ai002h prime years were 1986 - 1990, before the championships

  • Comment removed

  • I get goosebumps everytime I watch this. I get goosebumps everytime I watch Jordan. :)

  • I have that too sometimes. GOAT!

  • Hey there is nothing wrong getting goosebumps while watching the Greatest Player Ever!!

  • thats weird same thing happened to me

  • The slow mo replay, absolutely beautiful.

  • the few times that teams could stop him in mid air, he's dish it to a team mate for an assist.

  • I can't help watching this one again and again...

  • 27 points in the 4th quarter, & a game winner, vs a playoff team. wow

  • michael jordan is so good its not evan funny

  • i remember seeing this live in new zealand. didnt even really like basketball. until that last move. wow.

  • JORDAN'S PLAYGROUND :)

  • Yup I recognised it too!

  • superman!

  • don't you mean.... "Captain Marvel"??? ugh... heh.

  • that last play was hilariously awesome like something bugs bunny would do in looney tunes. crosses the first guy so bad he just gives up, shakes a second guy who then falls to the ground with a broken ankle. shoots over a giant who trips over his fallen teammate. the shot goes in as the tangled teammates' jaws drop.

  • Oscar Robertson did put up those kinds of numbers...but I agree that nobody ever did it quite the way MJ did.

  • The Best Shot Ever!!! Nobody can do that again!!! Jordan was so calm even there were only few seconds left, three players could not stop this final shot!

  • Yo hoopsencycolopedia rocks..i have never seen so much footage of simply the greatest player ever to have played basketball

  • i've seen that last play so many times but never in context - thx hoops

  • .548 shooting? 34.2 pts a game? 3.23 steals? 6.9 assists? WTF? these numbers aren't human. who will ever put up lines like that again

  • NO ONE WILL EVER!!!!!!!

  • ur right those numbers are crazy he had the whole package..boy the chicago fans always got their money worth..mj was more than worth the admission price alone

  • That last game winning shot by Michael is a classic shot.

  • look how far he shot his ft..he had a phase in which he did this, dunno why though. i luv the reaction when Jordan kills the game "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" lol no one provides this kind of excitement anymore

  • MJ would experiment with his FTs every year because he wanted to hit 90%. If you see through the years, it was always a little different, the stance, the distance, the twirl etc.

  • your right. he always seemed to change his routine.

  • we will.. we will rock you!

  • 55% FG. Nuff said.

  • michael jordan's the man.

  • whatturns me off are those incessant bickerings about whether kobe or jordan should get the nod.MJ is the king of basketball and Kobe Bryant's, LeBron James Dwayne Wade's will never live up to Jordan's legacy because they don't have that much drive and passion.Period

  • I concur. Michael would literally cheat to win, that's how bad he wanted it (See 1998 Finals, Gm 6).

  • that move wasnt a foul, seeing it in slowmotion is misleading, russell fell not cause of jordan's hand but cause of his own footwork reaction

  • I am from China.I am 26 years old.I like MJ very much. Now I can watch the NBA live in TV. Though Kobe, Wade are very excellent , I found nobody can compare with MJ.MJ can fly.His comportment is artistic. And he is enterprising. He can control the competition.I don't know how many people like him now in USA.Whther all the young blood like Kobe? I hope make American friends by my E-mail

  • who is that kobe ? some new kid in the block, pffft

  • deadly as usual, unmatched killer instinct, there's no stoppin MJ

  • As far as Kobe (or ayone else) vs. Jordan--you cannot describe what a HUGE difference the new rules, especially hand-checking, make. Kobe is amazing, but with Jordan's strength, speed, and relentless attack, just imagine what he would do to the Suns "just resting until we get to shoot again" defense. Hoopsencyclopedia had a great post about the Pistons defense on Jordan-how do you think D-Wade or Kobe would react if the help defense could run over and slam a forearm shiver in their chest?

  • maybe the best ending of any game ive ever seen, i bet cummings wishes he has that one back

  • jordan is the best one!He is the god to me!Kobe is only a star for shot!

  • 2000 Finals: 36.7% shooting (5 gm, 6 for LAL) 2001 Finals: 41.5% (5 gm) 2002 Finals: 51.4% (4 gm) 2004 Finals: 38.0% (5 gm) hm, I think you're forgetting some really bad playing. Or maybe you'd like the individual games like you gave us. How about 4-20? 8-27? 7-22? 8-25? 7-21? 4-13? 10-27? ....
  • Or the simple fact that Kobe plays for stats and Jordan was just trying to win a crucial playoff game.

  • wtf are u talkin about, kobe has 3 championships at 28, jordan didnt have 3 at 28. kobe plays to win championships. jordan is fucking bad, but so is kobe, kobe is close to jordan, admit that and give him his dues

  • The reason why Jordan didn't win a championship till he was 28 was because of a certain team from Detroit. At least Jordan would not relent until the Bulls finally swept them in 1991. Kobe, as far as I know, never faced a defense so tough as the Pistons'. That's what makes Jordan great--he also played to win championships, too, but the better team always cut his season short. Besides, Jordan didn't enter the NBA from high school like Kobe did.

  • Yea No one is better than Jordan. NOONE. I agree the hand check rules does favor the offensive players today. To me Kobe and Lebron r overrated way more than Wade; Wade, when healthy is the best player in today's gm to me. But u r right TBlake Jordan would have a field day in today's league. He would probably avg like 50 ppg. Lol. Against the tougher d of yesteryr he(37 ppg) almost avg. 40 a gm.

  • Yes, Michael is in a class with pretty much just Jerry West and Elgin Baylor in terms on players who stepped it up in the Playoffs, but Michael was much more efficient than either.

And 27 in the 4th... I'm pretty sure that that's only outdone by Wilt's 100 pt game 4th (31 pts), and that's unfair because the whole team was trying to feed Wilt the ball.

  • Well Kobe scored 28 in the 4th against the Raptors. But if you consider how disgusting the Raptors are and their defense, it's a dead issue.

I also remember Sleepy Floyd getting 29 points in the 4th quarter of a playoffs game. Was an incredible performance.

  • ok as if the lakers don't feed kobe the ball haha or he just doesn't pass it ever!

  • are you forgetting when kobe had to step up in the finals when shaq fouled out, yeh i think u r forgetting

  • Yeah, that ONE GAME was awesome. <rolleyes> Guess Kobe fans will hold onto that half a quarter forever. Never mind how he got badly outplayed that series by a 54 year old Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose. Jordan was never outplayed by ANYONE (opponent or teammate) in any playoff series in his career. Kobe's already been outplayed many, many times in series.

  • 54 year old, i DON'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT LOL,

  • Ridiculous! Look at all the ankles he broke at the last shot. Made them run into each other. Love it

  • Ther gose a nother gam wining shot from Jordan

  • what a finish!!

  • Yo hoops by the way, it's 27 in the 4th. Also, I've compiled an entire database of 50+ point games since 86-87 onward with totals, percentages, etc from year-to-year, decade-to-decade along with a Game Score stat for each game. Check m2 if you're interested, i'm sure you'd find it useful.

  • Thanks, that would be great if you could send me that.

  • Hoops I know you are doing great but we need more games dude. We love you man, but we are greedy. Please give us our medicine.

  • Another one soon. I've been working on a compilation mix so it's been taking a while so I'll have to put a game up in the meantime. Thanks and don't worry!

  • To me the thing that seperated Mike from everyone else i history is that the fact that his production increased in the playoffs. 33.4 ppg in the playoffs compared to 30.1 ppg in the reg. season. Not to mention that both his assists and rebounds per game were higher in the playoffs as well. Futhermore the myth that he couldn't shoot early in his career, is the reason why these videos need to be shown. Thanks alot hoops.

  • that's right, the playoff production is way more important ,and that's when team play some real defences, and fight for each point.

  • man, MJ and his buzzer beaters...gotta love it

    nice video hoops.

  • Yeah det916, that would be an AWESOME game to showcase -- 44 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists in 33 minutes! Plus, I've never seen it. ;)

  • Hoops, do you have Jordan's 40+ in 3 quarters against the Run TMC Warriors from 1990? I believe that was Jordan's best from 3 point land (7-12).

  • Yep this is to good hoops. Yea its funny to hear people say MJ didnt have a jumper. I laugh cuz u r a dumb ass to think that. He has the best jumper I ever seen as well. Get video. Keep them coming. MJ the greatest ever.

  • Yep, I agree completely. Both incredible foul shooters as well.

  • you the man hoops!

  • Another classic game, thanks for the upload Hoops, brings back memories.

  • Damm...27 in the 4th!

  • Hoops I know you've seen a lot of footage so I wanted to ask you, who do you think was the better jump shooter - Michael or Larry? Someone was asking me about this.

  • Sports Illustrated, in their 1991 "Man of the Year" issue, said of Jordan: "He's the best jumpshooter in the NBA. Bird is better from deep, but from 21 feet and in, he's without peer."

  • MJ's jumpshooting was overshadowed by his circus moves in his early years. Woolridge said he was the best jumpshooter he ever saw and that was 1985. Bird was a better pure shooter from deep and when open. MJ was the best in the mid-range and at creating and hitting his own J.

  • Keep them coming hoops you are a legend. Do you have a classic MJ game with the trailblazers between 87-89. You're stuff is off the hook dude.

  • Forget that. I wish someone would post his first homerun as a Chicago White Sock.

  • looks like Jordan scored almost half of his points in the 4th

  • He did. He scored more than half of his points in the 4th quarter.

  • Can you upload the Charlotte game where he scored 48 points in his first playoff game out of retirement

  • HOLEE SH#T!! I remember watching this game back in 9th grade! Hoopd, dude, i cannot believe the archive you have- this is unreal!

  • hoops thank you soooooooo much. I finally get to see the whole game. I cant wait to see the next vid u put up.

  • great stuff again. Nice to see the whole game. Hoops, your videos are great and i'm looking forward to next one.

  • here's jordan runner in the lane 18 footer, yea yea yea!!!!

  • thanks again hoops, u r the man, jordan's jumpers are nice and his dunks are powerful.

  • Fantastic. sends shivers down my spine again ! and what insane stats for that year !!!

  • wow thats all i can say just wow

  • I've seen that last second shot soooooo many times in the highlight reels and to see the full game, is sick!

  • that was a nice shot at the end....sick 4th qrt performance by mj and nice moves for sure...

  • Simply the greatest to ever play the game.

  • you always see that last shot in the jordan highlight vids...great to see the actual game.

on the other hand, every time i watch these things i get way too nostalgic and wind up hating today's game.

    *sigh*

  • Thanks again hoops. I always check to see if you put up a new video, at least once every week.

  • Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

    Man...

Just watched Denver x Lakers, and the commentary on the broadcast, mentioning how quick Carmelo is... How quickly they forget...

  • When shooting a freethrow, look how far he stands behind the line.

    Thanks for posting.

  • hoops! thanks!

  • Been a while Hoops. Good to see you're still on your game, man!

  • another insane performance by MJ..

  • Look at how quick his footwork and body movementss are at 2:03. Ridiculous. And lol @ how high he jumped for the final interception at the end. Wow.

  • Awesome. Vintage MJ.

  • LOL! He made two people fall down w/ that clutch shot.

  • You remain the man!

  • and one more and I will leave. I always wondered where he came up with that game winner dang thanks hoops!

  • man, that jumper at 1:41 was the stuff of legends. the speed the power, just watching it makes me think what would happed if he saw dwight in a real game! whoa thanks hoops. do you have the games where he hounded the top dog to death? it's no disrespect, i just want to see some REAL d b/c ron kobe and wade aare getting on my nerves
