First time I heard the studio version on Mirrors, I thought it was a cheesy poppy track. I wanted the Astronomies and the Flaming Telepaths. Then, when I was later in the discography, I came across this on Heaven Forbid and was pleasantly surprised - it struck instantly. It got stuck in my head for hours, and, hoping to do some retrograde appreciation, went back to the Mirrors version. Couldn't stand it. The drums and the multiple vox there just doesn't sound right. This version is lovely!
Great version of a great song... But does anybody else find it kind of funny that he says, "...because the dice rolls much too easily?" as opposed to, "...so indifferently?" like the lyrics in the Mirrors song?
Yo gay boy- stupid comment. This is definitelt live, listen to the CD track compared to this. FYI, it's on a CD called "Mirrors". This is completely different and in fact...amazing.

And this is a reprisal of that track from their 1998 album "Heaven Forbid". It's not live and to my knowledge they've never put out a live track of "In Thee" on any of their live albums
Do you really think I'm arguing that this is the same track as Mirrors? This is a reprisal of that song for the first album they released in over a decade. It's not an uncommon thing for bands to do. Hell, BOC rereleased "On The Lamb" and "Subhuman" three different times, and Astronomy twice.
But that's completely besides the point. This track is either studio recorded or SUPER overdubbed just because the cleanness of the tracks. It doesn't sound live at all, especially compared to BOC's lives

Stellar acoustic work by Buck.

I like this better than the original studio version. This should have been a huge hit for them. The organ adds some nice, colorful tones to the song.

I wish their old studio work could be as clear and well recorded as this LIVE cut is.

this is live. its not a huge venue so the crowd is smaller and is in a more acousticly designed stage, making it sound very clear and no distortion.
Very good song and i love how its done here.

This is studio recorded, not live

yo adding crowd sound at the ends doesn't make it a live track

You have literally never listened to a live album

Sure have, there is no hope for you. Here are (3) simple directions:
#1- Listen to the original cut from "Mirrors".
#2- Listen to this cut from "Heaven Forbid" (forget the crowd noise).
#3- Admit that it is a live track.

That's one of the most beautiful things I ever heard. But now I can't decide whether I like the studio or the live version better.
