I really don't think hes that full of himself. He seems pretty humble for the most part. What he meant by "I hear my riffs all the time" was that he hears guitarists playing stuff that has been influenced by him in Fear Factory. And honestly I really think that guitarists that play his style have a lot to learn from him.

He plays a lot of guitars. 7, 8, and 9. You are right. He had Conklin make his custom 9 string. Don't listen to the other guy that responded to you. Everyone, check Conklin Guitars website under custom instruments. Rusty Cooley had a jet black 9 string guitar made with a fanned fretboard.

F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E, A. So to put it another way, he has two lower strings, and one higher. The fanned fretboard is a trip. The longer end is 27" and the shorter 25".
