  • Shemp: Vital link to the older Vaudeville tradition! :) He was billed as "the ugliest man in Hollywood."

  • Thx! This whole scene is Shemp perfection! And here, Christine McIntyre is her most beautiful.

  • Why are our schools not teaching this?

  • Shemp's moves are strikingly like break dancing!

  • the first time i watched this episode, i died laughing on the floor the entire time xDDD

  • shemp: best stooge?

  • @socorrofilms Shemp is good compared to Joe or Curly Joe. Curly and Shemp were the best I thought for the rotating stooges. Moe is the best of them all

  • i always liked how shemp did that "memememememememe" sound.

  • Shemp's my favorite EEEP EEEP

  • Shemp was actually the original 3 rd stooge BEFORE Curly. He left the stooges, then, Curly joined. Then, when Curly retired, Shemp came back.

  • A COUPLE OF PIP PIPS ...LITTLE BARBAQUE AND WHAT HAVE YOU!!!! LOL!

  • His name was originally Sam Horowitz, but since his mother had a thick Lithuanian accent, it always came out as, "Shem." That's how he got the stage name, Shemp.

  • How could this be a 1956 episode, when Shemp Howard died on November 22nd 1955? I'm just curious?

  • @TheOwl1970 It's a remake of an earlier short (I believe "Who Done It?"). So the actual scene is stock footage from that previous short. Also, it was filmed in 1955 but released in 1956.

  • 1956?? I'm pretty curtain this came out way before then.

  • Shemps da man!

  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Comedy thy name is Shemp.

  • Shemp was the best Curly was ok and Joe was a homo

  • @mrbriansykes35 NOT SO HARD!!!!!!

  • @mrbriansykes35 NOT SO HARD!!!!!!\

    love joe

  • @dommovieguy CRRRRRAZY

  • @Stoogefan14 NOT SO HARD!!!!!!

  • @mrbriansykes35 Oh you meany, you!

  • Shemp Howard- one of the most underrated comics in the history of Hollywood! Even after 44 years, this short is still as funny as the dickens!

  • I prefer Shemp to Curly

  • I'm peeing myself!! That scene is so damn funny!! I don 't know how Christine McIntyre keeps from cracking up. Shemp is truly great, on a level with Curly at times and this is certainly one of them..

  • aajajajajaaa este es el mejor !!!!! xDDDDD

  • In just one clip and Shemp proves that he is more talented that Lady Gaga.

  • I can never get enough of 01:17

  • ANOTHER_THING I liked about shemp....unlike Joe DeRita and other curley replacements Shemp never tried to be a surogate Curly....he had his own style......I just loved the way he would start "chirping" and weezing (see 1:10 of this clip). ......Another Stooges Trivia: Shemp Howard did not drive a car....he got into so many accidents he gave up driving

  • I did not know that wow

  • He was a God of comedy

  • God, this scene's a ripper!! As a kid I always loved the part where Shemp starts to tell a story, then the poison takes hold - "EEEEEEP!"

  • SHEMP RULES!!!!!!

  • @ironbuttermilk was this Shimps last Episode before he passed?

  • If Youll Notice The Last Scene In THe Hallway Is Also The SAme House (Set) Used In " Shivering Sherlocks".. You, Know, The One With ANGEL The Goon Chasing The Stooges......LOL

  • Once again, "Comedy thy name is Shemp." (With apologies to Bart Simpson.)

  • Shemp is my favorite.

  • I always liked shemp and it is totally unfair to try to compare him to Curly. He actually had his own career going when Curly had his stroke and could not work anymore. Shemp agreed to become a stooge to help the family out. At this point all three were related...brothers. TRIVIA: Shemp Howard (Shmule Horowitz) was once voted "the most ugly man in Hollywood

  • @inkey2 No.. isn't larry still there?

  • @inkey2 I thought Shemp and Curly were both good stooges. I thought Joe and Curly Joe were mediocre at best. Shemp I wouldn't really call ugly. His hairstyle I wouldn't have but it was there for comedic effects.

  • @inkey2 moe and curly and shemp were brothers, but larry wasn't.

  • This is actually old footage from "Who Done It? from 1949. "For Crimin' Out Loud" was a remake of this episode and there is new footage of Shemp in that somewhere.
