  • This needs more views

  • Yeah!

  • 17 dislikes ? those ppl like carlos santana..

  • this video changed my life the first time i saw it, years ago.

  • @MCML89 Yeah I first saw this way back and every now and then view it again, I can't say that for any other video

  • D --> I feel like he was loading his shred ability for the beginning of this song then at 1:41 he was like "Okay, I'm done loading." Then busted it out dawg!

  • I honestly believe Buckethead is a real super hero. As soon as that mask and bucket comes on he does unhuman like things.

    God and my idol

  • that guitar will never be satisfied with another person playing it for the rest of its life

  • @coyotewild32 D --> That's so true. That guitar is not too worthy for any other hands. If Buckethead dies (hypothetically, we all know he's immortal), that guitar would be crying for eternity, but can't get the emotions out through Buckethead's playing.

  • he's telling a story with guitar

  • There is no one that has ever taken ecstasy, listened to Buckethead play, and lived to tell the tail of their experience, because the mind would literally explode.

  • 17 Pepole got no Bucket left.

  • best style of music ever classic rock shred with metal

  • 16 ignorant people can't see past the bucket and a mask.

  • anyone knows if this is an actual song from buckethead or some kind of only-live thing? would like to get the tabs...

  • @DarkFitzi this is part of the Soothsayer song (live version), he plays it differently each time...

  • @DarkFitzi this song is called soothsayer, but most of the song here is all improvisation, the mains riffs are here but most of the soloing is all improv

  • @axlnpage

    Excuse me sir !

Did you just say what I thought you said?

That - Shawn Lane was influenced BY Buckethead?

Have you lost your mind, or did you mean the other way around?

Buckethead was HEAVILY influenced by Shawn Lane.

Also Shawn Lane's big guitar hero was Allan Holdsworth. The originater of alien guitar wizardry.

Buckethead was very late in OTT guitar talk.

I dearly hope you made a typo here. There is increasingly ignorant buckethead comments here.

  • @ExtremeBogom ALL TRUE...

  • His light would surely blind us if he took off his mask and bucket.

  • BucketHead has a mask to hide his face from humans, and a bucket to hide his Halo..................

  • 2:13, woah he snuck that one in there real good lawl. buck is fuckin awesome

  • His hand is a fucking spider...seriosly.

  • just kidding

  • go fuck your self and get the fuck out then

  • one of the greatest things i have ever heard

  • Buckethead is so fucking amazing!!!!

  • Buckethead is the best Guitarist of all time!!!

How does he come up with this stuff he's amazing!!!

  • this is one of favorite vids on youtube dude

  • OH MY GOD i love buckethead is the best why he's never come in italy?!??!?!!?!?!?DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN

  • 4:00

I've yet to see a guitarist who can do that like Buckethead. Would you classify that as tremolo picking?

  • well.. buckethead is my favorite ide rather listen to him than anybody else.. but paul gilbert can do the stuff buckethead does... doesnt make either better though.. personal opinion i still like buckethead better

  • he's great !

  • DAMN!

  • wow, hes a genious

but he definitely missed the sweep

......just tryin to push my self-confidence xD

  • Hey, that guy's pretty good.

seriously though...words fail me. That is truly amazing.

  • It's the Soothsayer solo right...?

  • yep this is how he used to play soothsayer

  • HOLY SHIT bucekthead is amazing

  • he wears the bucker becuase hes insane.. end off

  • If we ever manage to travel through space and time or at the speed of light. I'm pretty sure we'll able to hear something like this. Buckethead is amazing

  • I think he is really in the zone here, one of my favorite youtube vids

  • i love how he holds the same bend note forever at the end of the solo...amazing!

  • This is Buckethead. This is what he does. Awesome!

  • fucking awesome

  • I'm not trying to sound mean and I am a big buckethead fan but why is he so wierd? He should write a book telling who he really is

  • bucket head had a cruel life growing up living in a chicken coop until he was given the chicken bucket ..it gives him the power of the dead chickens and thats why he plays so good ... however the chickens clawed his face of and for that he was thankfull cos now he can wear a halloween mask every day ..............he allways played his little guitar to the tomb stone cos they werent mean to him like evry one else all he wants is to be accepted

  • okay (bullSHEEIT)

  • that is not his real story dude

  • they made a comic book about him. google buckethead comic

  • I think he wears the bucket and mask so people would talk about it and wonder about it and so he could conceal his identity so when he's not playin and is just in his house chillin no one will know he is buckethead and the press and shit will leave him alone.

  • i think it's cuz his face got clawed by chickens when when he was a kid

  • Simply the best there is.

  • slash is one of the ugliest fuckers i've ever seen haha

  • i bet you started listening to rock after gh right!!!

  • what a success story

  • lol guitar hero saves people

  • me 2!!! i got into guitar frm gh3. i used to like hip hop but not really anymore.

  • lol same, its kinda embarrasin to admit for me though :P

  • yea... but hip hop is ok now. mostly cuz rappers these days only play for money not for fans like BH

  • i used to like commerical hip hop, i dont anymore but i still love old skool like run dmc, n.w.a, tupac etc

  • yea me too

  • Soothsayer is the most sacred song to me and I love this version. But absolutely nothing touches the album version.

  • I agree, soothsayer is his greatest work.

  • Nicely filmd dude

    i loved watching

  • Van halen and eruption can suck it and so can slash and The Godrather theme... Buckethead is way more talented then both of them.

  • Actually, yeah...he's right they both are nothing compared to Buckethead sorry but that's the truth.

  • eh...

  • at 4:15 his lips are moven

  • Damn how I wish I was there to see that

  • i must say, i like this solo version much better than the recorded one

  • Amd this is pure music right here folks.. You dont have to sing to enjoy good music.. Listen to the smooth sounds of this kick ass band.. ROCK AND BUCKET MANIACS.. ^_^

  • Oh.....my.......God.......

  • Still probably my favorite YouTube Favorite.

  • timmy is a gaybag.........

  • Does this song have a title? Or is it just played lived?

    I love this performance.

    :D

  • soothsayer

  • Fuckin' awesome.

  • Damn I love Soothsayer.

  • he play on a les paul standard!!!!! is it right?=

  • Les Paul Custom. Duh.

  • He also Plays a '59 and a '60 if I'm not mistaken, Customed of course. :)

  • why does your description say 'Buckethead destroys a guitar solo' ? :s

  • As in, "slays."

  • hes soo fucking awesome. one of the greatest guitarist of all time.

  • a song like this makes me wonder how people can stand up and say with confidence that Buckethead plays without emotion.

  • exactly, some people are retarded

  • well listen mate its his kind of style. i bet you he plays with a lot of emotion its just all under the mask.

  • because alot of people just spout shite for a passtime, and have no real idea about music, or whats really involved in an awsome peice of music such as this :)

  • They're Just Assholes, I had one guy Diss Buckethead but tell me that Paul Gilbert was his favorite guitarist. Make any sense to you? Talk shit about the guy, who was taught by your favorite guitar player. And Tecnacally Diss them both. Guy was an Idiot.

  • It's on the Crime Slunk Scene Album

  • soothsayer is the name of this song

  • What's the name of this song?

  • soothsayer

  • i wish it had the whole intro, but i agree with billebaru, this is the best version i've heard.

  • This is the best version of this song.<----period

  • lol..he is so clean when he shreds!

  • one of the best solo's ive seen him do!

    that was swish

  • i love buckethead

  • is he playing in new york on this tour??

  • Sat, 11/01/08 08:00 PM B.B. King Blues Club and Grill New York, NY

  • Where are you getting that info from? Just curious because its not listed on his supposed tour dtaes.

  • I have connections ;)

  • god! i am finally goin to see him live on may 31st. WOO HOO!!!!

  • Buckethead From The Coop Coming out in June! Who's Buyin it?

  • i want to see him play live so bad. hes a damn machine.

  • whats this song called?

  • i think soothsayer

  • Yeah it's Soothsayer. No doubt about it. From the Crime Slunk Scene album.

  • its soothsayer, but it sounds like hes adlibbing some stuff

  • Na, not Buckethead, he always does something different in his live performances. He likes to change things up a bit. I think he should make a live album.

  • yeah, thats what i meant by adlibbing

it sounds like it has a soothsayer tone, but its a much different riff/solo

  • Oh ok sorry, got kinda confused there. But yeah that's just like if you listen to Padmasana then look at the video of it live on youtube, it's so much different. same with Interworld and the New Innocence.

  • ah its cool man, i kinda put it wrong anyhow, so half its on me.

  • butethead has a live album but its like bootleg its called10/26/2005 State Theatre Falls Church VA if you download utorrent and search buckethead discography it'll give you ever thing hes ever made the album is great

  • 1. It's an audio boot not a live album.

    2. If you claim to be a fan then you should respect him enough not to download his music.

  • I've seen this "discography" torrent. Let me assure you that that is far from everything hes ever made.

  • that sweep tap arpeggio lick was so uber awsome

  • sarcasm you fools.. please

  • Crime Clunk Scene is a fucking amazing album!!

  • No, it's CRIME SLUNK SCENE.

  • ya its slunk

  • hahahahhaa "Crunk"

  • its slunk hehe and yes it is a very good album :)

  • what kind of pick ups are those?

  • DiMarrzio X2Ns in white

  • Are you sure?

  • piece of art

  • yeah..its diffrent frm the other.

    i prefer the other one..

or he want to take it to tha front of his music??

  • i prefer this version any day.

  • the sound is almost completly different I like it live better

  • Yeah, I didn't recognize it at first either.

I definately like this version more, even though they're both awesome.

  • what is the name of this song?

  • Soothsayer, from the album Crime Slunk Scene.

Buckethead usually improvises on the solo when he plays this one live.

  • His shredding gets old. He sounds a lot better when he doesn't shred, in my opinion.

  • i agree, like on Population Override or Electric Tears, he tones down the shredding, but those are my two favorite albums of his.

  • I own every single one of his releases, and I have to say, "Too Many Humans" off of Population Override is my all-time favorite. It's so mellow and subdued, but at the same time maintains a very high degree of complexity without killing the emotion in the song. I rarely listen to his "faster" albums, aside from Cuckoo Clocks of Hell. If you haven't picked up Decoding The Tomb of Bansheebot, you definitely should, Sail On Soothsayer is great.

  • You base that on 4:38 of one solo? This isn't even the whole song, just listen to more of him, you'll soon see.

  • Pardon me, I meant "mean" in a good way.

  • This is the best solo Ive ever seen so I hope you me "destroys" in a good way.

  • Buckethead is not a person. He is an idea. Surely he will pass on the mask. And any Buckethead should not be limited to the guitar. I want there to be a Buckethead pianist, a Buckethead bassist, a Buckethead techno artist, a Buckethead cellist, etc.

Buckethead should be a rock legacy passed from generation to generation.

  • he reminds me of V from v for vendetta

  • he actually can play bass but their are no vids of him but some songs he does bass then records over it with guitar

  • Too bad no one would ever live up to the name =/

  • You'r just trolling right? 2.level guitar player my ass :p

Big fan of all those you mentioned ;)

Jimi Hendrix also got a unique style I'd like to add, it's not just all about the shredding you know =)

  • 2nd player? go fuck yourself

  • I've seen bucket and gilbert in the same room

together,,,,,,,They are the 2 sickest guitarists

    alive.

  • buckethead destroys gilbert

  • I swear, its Paul Gilbert behind that mask ...

    :D

  • lmao ive actually heard that theory quite a bit...

  • On the FAQ of paul gilberts site, it exclaims he in not buckethead.....interesting

  • his real name is brian carrol

  • i think he is jimmy page

  • If you are serious you should die.

  • Yea, this is soothsayer

but i agree with DilutedFaith a few comments down...6 under me to be exact...

He never plays the same song twice, a different twist to it every time...

But buckethead youre amazing, dont stop doing what you do...

    Buckethead forever!

  • right the fuck on!

  • holy SHIIIITt

  • He's too good
