The shroud of Turin is 14.3' X 3.7' The reason it is this size is that it must be able to wrap a human body from head to toe, covering the front and back. All the more reason the shroud is not a forgery. Leonardo Divinchi or any other artist in history ever used a canvas of this size. The shroud of Turin is a pure linen garment, 3 over 1 herringbone twill fabric that would NEVER have been used on a executed criminal.

Ron Wyatt took a blood scraping off the wall of the tomb believed to be that of Jesus and he had the blood tested. Results: Mother human, Father ET..not of planet earth. In ancient times UFO's were drawn as Angels. This may explain the reference of Mary being visited by an Angel, but rather a UFO. It is believed the ET's made their seed 'perfect'. Jesus was an alien hybrid it seems. So is this shroud the same man? I recommend a video on TY titled:- Ron Wyatt talking about JESUS blood sample
Carbon dating is not as inaccurate as they make it out to be in this video. It is an incredibly useful tool when handled properly. The reason mollusks date as though they were older is because of the carbon reservoir effect. It is an understandable and measurable phenomenon and no one who knows what they are doing with carbon dating would fail to apply the appropriate mathematical correction to the date. This video is deliberately misleading.
@Aquien1 yeah travel back in time with a few machine guns and hand grenades , but im sorry to say there is still idiotic people right now aswell . but you have to ask yourself if he didnt die how would the world be today , god sent him to earth to be killed to teach us all a lesson . all those fucking romans should be punished
The only evidence which supports the idea of the shrouds inauthenticity is the carbon dating ,... Which is never accurate anyway !! Also how can they take the carbon dating test seriously especially after knowing that there was a fire in the church in France which can throw the test off. ALL EVIDENCE SAYS SHROUD IS REAL. PERIOD
@carrrrera Honestly... I don't know whether this shroud is real or not... but I do agree that Something that has been burned will not show the correct carbon dating however.. I also say that noone to this day can still understand what this shroud is or how it was created.. We use DNA to sentence someone to death or prove who did this or that but we can't tell if this relic is a painting or not... somethings up folks!

The using of a plate of glass with the figure drawn by mean of chiaroscuro technique as negative plate ( like do it the photographers during revealing process of any photo) would explain why the image looks so flat, burned, blurred and produces 3D pattern. This technique is not so unusual if we consider that people used to place curtains in front of stained glass windows and there were a lot of sensitive substances to sunlight during Mid Age, Our curtains are "printed" by sunlight gradually.
You fucking idiots. Mollusks date as older because the material used to make the shell is older! It would be just like if I build a house out of volcanic rock, if a scientists dated the rock, it would be millions of years old.
c-14 dating has been calibrated due to the differences in carbon in the air over time. The Bristlecone pine issue relates to things over 3,000 years old, and doesn't apply to the shroud.

the paint hypothesis has been refuted over and over again via peer reviewed science. there is one hold out who is now dead, walter mcrone, that came to the paint conclusion, and the skeptics desperately cling to his and only his refuted conclusion. keep the faith!
Even in this video people who have studied it said "OH their is no blood on it" And others who have studied said "yes their is blood on it" who is telling the truth? I look at the shroud and I see stains on hands back head and feet so I'm more leaning on the guy who said that their was indeed blood on the shroud.
The belief in the Shroud being Jesus Christ's, Burial Cloth,is "Ulitmately" up to each one of us,just like the "belief" in "JESUS" himself....proving weather or not he existed, and was who he said he was will always be a "Debate"...so "GOD" leaves the belief up to you !...you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink the "WATER"...in this "case" ..."THE LIVING WATER"!...JESUS !
ah yes but theres a good example of a religious person saying because he had a wound on his right side it could have only been jesus. For your info i am neither religious or non-religious i prefer to keep an open mind and a very critical. I agree, the bible is a historic account, and a good one, but, what you have to appreciate is that there is no empirical evidence in support of it. I have read the bible (because im open minded) and to be fair, in my opinion, it was nothing more
How can a two thousand year old artist make something like this seriously its imposable this is proof of Christs resurrection if you don't believe this you have no excuse
@totheword3000 you my friend are4 delusional. You ask for my explanations...with all respect, im no the one explaining this in narrow minded terms of God or religion. I agree, there may be some other explanation for it (because i am open minded you see). Now youre the one claiming it to be the the definite burial cloth of christ, i dont want to hear a sentence that starts with 'i belive' or 'the bible says' but please tell me what empirical evidence you base that assumption on?!
@totheword3000 yes i know you didnt refer to the bible, but is that or is it not at the epicentre of your beliefs? See i like to get to the centre of the issue rather than beat around the bush, therefore i did read your comment, but instead of flunking round issues (which seems to be a common personality trait in religious people) i went straight into it! Your level of defensiveness in the comment also implies you do not have an answer to my question.
@mattboyo Yes your right is is the bases for my belief system but I did not use its reference because i know how you non religious types are you would automatically discount the bible despite it being a historical document and a very good one at that
There seems to be an error in the expert analysis of the race of the subject depicted in the shroud. At 3:25 Dr. Robert Bucklin states, "This is the body of a 5'-11" CAUCASION male...". Jesus was a descendant of David, an Israelite from the tribe of Judah and not Caucasian. Does his testimony discredit the shroud? Maybe. If everyone is testifying to the shroud belonging to a Caucasian Jesus, then this shroud belongs to a different Jesus, and not Jesus of Nazareth the Son of God.
@pmthrash I don't know Jewish men are pretty light in color so its possible but does it matter if Jesus was white green yellow are black its his divine nature that rally matters
Surely this one can be proven or disproven. The artefact is available for evidence. With all the experts around, it should be easy. To prove it is real, one would have to establish the date correctly and that the various fluids are genuine. To disprove it one would have to explain how the image got there. A lot points to it being real. But the carbon dating is a real killer. It was shown as being in the 13th century or thereabouts. Could this be incorrect?
@swanningaround carbon dating is usually accurate, however there are occasions when discrepencies occur, it would be interesting to note though, that when they do occur, it is usually with artifacts of fossils saild to be thousands or millions of yrs old!
religious people cling to things such as the shrowd as a coping mechanism, they want to belief and have their reality suspended by what 'thisboy01' rightly calls idolatry! The fact is you religious people are willing to think inside the box all the time rather than outside it and disbelieve your own external reality to bring you more comfort in your life! Stop clinging to a piece fo cloth and get a life!
@iqfrenzy ohhh a bit of a defensive approach there! did i strike a nerve? when you was a child did you have man friends? did yu play with them alot? did you get enough attention? im guessing youve probably experienced some sort of trauma and are more introverted rather than extroverted, you like your own space and being alone sometimes but other times you like to be social...but you couldnt really get a party going? :P
@iqfrenzy firstly i am not an atheist i am what i call 'open minded' instead of narrow minded, secondly i was conducting research on attitudes towards christianity and such phenomenon as part of a university project whihc is why i came to youtube and thirdly everything i said has something to do with it. If you took the time to read around things instead of attaching the word 'god' to everything and being narrow minded youd figure that out for yourself!
don't be so desperate. it makes you look stupid and it shows your own disbelief in jesus. keep in mind people died over stupid things in the name of christ or god including this artifact. the bible never said go idolize artifacts of jesus. it surely never said go and kill in my name. get over it. it's an old cloth.
this is an interesting artifact...but nevertheless an example of idolatry...
who cares if it was the burial wrap of jesus himself? why the heck do you kneel to it? why the heck do you want to obsess over something so trivial?! to prove the existence of jesus?
@thisboy01 - Idiot! Not to prove Jesus' existence! But to acknowledge that the image on the cloth cannot be so easily explained. Scientists believe the only way it could have been created was by radiated light! Perhaps at the moment of resurrection?!
You seem to have trouble with the fact that this is a problem with the shroud. The back imprint of the shroud indicates a much taller person than the imprint in the front of it. What is your problem?
I love how atheists go from not believing in a man named Jesus ever existing and dismiss it as a "folklore" yet, when faced with some scientists claiming that this shroud is pretty authentic, they go from folklore dismissal to "it must have been another person who was crucified." In the world that we live in, we would call you people "retarded."
@BPhire Correction - FOUR other people who were crucified. There are at least four other shrouds: Besançon, Cadouin, Champiègne and Xabregas along with several holy foreskins, baby blankets and vials of Mary's milk. WHO'S retarded?
lollol im doiny my psychology dissertation at the moment on the notion of god as an imaginary companion..like that of what a child experiences during the preschool years but in adulthood and they call it 'god'! very interesting some of the stuff you come across! I have conducted my research on both religious and non religious participants....some of the results are quite interesting! watch this space :P
@mattboyo - Sounds interesting. Man all over the world and over time, seems to realize that he is fallableand instinctively calls out to perceived outside forces for assistance. These he calls god/gods. I'd be interested to hear about your studies, mattboyo.
from childhood, into adulthood can a human properly distinguish fantasy from reality that is the question and what happens when the line between each gets blurred :P
@mattboyo - There is the added problem in that some adults go on to become compulsive liars. Do they actually believe their own stories and what leads them to continue lying?
well in the case of religion, it has been found empirically to be a strong indicator of a coping mechanism, a coping mechanism which shields them from the harshness of life, however to much time in this 'internal fantasy' blurs the line between that and the external reality they exist in, making them withdraw themselves creating an internal construct or 'ideology' which becomes highly believable to the individual concerned, so they wont see it as lying. You get what i mean? lol
@mattboyo - It is said that a person under hypnosis won't lie but this is not true. In actual fact, when challenged, when people under hypnosis are convinced of a certain fact, they will lie and back peddle to unhold that lie. This religious brain washing seems to become so central to these people that an attack on their religion is considered to be a personal attack on them and they defend it with lies if need be.
To be honest i dont knwo much about hypnosis, ive read lots of research on it etc...n there is truth in what you said, someone under hypnosis is not 'out of control' in what they say or do...they have complete control, however the inhibition to manipulate things as you would in normal conscious conditions is usually removed depending on the level of hypnosis. So yes you could still lie, however from another point of view if the inhibitions, worries etc are removed...why feel the need to lie?!
Dunno but apparently they will. If subjects are fed a scenario and then questioned about it, they will lie to defend that scenario. The one thing that I still wonder about is one where a subject was hypnotized and told that another person was not present. That person entered the room with a bouquet of roses which he hid behind his back. The subject could not see the other person but he did see the roses drifting across the room.
2) Physically, those roses were hidden behind the other person. Hypnotized or not, one normally could not see the flowers yet the hypnotized person could see them. Strange!!!!!!
very strange...the second part that is, the first part your referring too is either called a 'positive hullucination' or a 'negative one' i get mixed up between the two. But im sure derren brown done it one of his series with a guy in a room. The roses being able to be seen i dont have a clue, unless covertly mybe using some NLP the idea of the roses is put in to the session i havent a clue lol!
It sure is. I got that from a book on hypnosis in dentistry. Still can't figure it. The subject could never have seen the roses - physically impossible. Yet under hypnosis, he did n't see the man but did see the roses. Wonder if there is an element of ESP there?
Yh i can understand how positive and negative hullucinations work, (i have a few courses on basic /advanced stage hypnosis and clinical hypnosis) however the point about ESP is an interetsing one...Theres a branch of psychology called transpersonal psychology, theyve got their own journals etc, they focus on those areas that are deemed 'psychic' or 'esp' however, if you dig around you find that that branch is funded by organisations that try to promote the idea of such phenomenon, and you
can clearly see that alot of the research into that are biased when taking into account the authors own ideologies...however it does get you thinking! very interesting reads...but none of the results are replicated or validated so one could say they are'rash conclusions'!
ill also add that thats been disputed for centuries...uis it nature (innate) or is it nurtured or conditioned...whatever the answer i guarantee you it has nothing to do with 'religion'!
in response to your last post...youl need to get on psychinfo or psychnet (ive never used ERIC personally) but do a search on the developmental significance of dishonesty in pre schoolers, or simply why children begin lying...if you want it summed up look for a meta analyses! your probably gonna come across alot of different perspectives, psychoanalytical, biological etc but read it its interesting! and its all EMPIRICAL!
@mattboyo Interesting because I was married to a compulsive liar and my two children are affected to a certain degree with it. The girl admits that she seems to feel the need to lie but tries to control it. The boy just plain lies and withdraws when confronted. It seems to be a genetic thing.
Yes indeed thats one possible explanation for it, there is alot of biological evidence for that too, theres also lots of evidence for being 'conditioned' to le, however there are other developmental mechanisms involved from a psychoanalytical perspective, they make interesting reads too.
not entirely genetic...however, a religious person would maybe argue they are born with it...o its gods doing! wow wow! how about ermmm no think of the other possibilities and stop being so narrow minded!
im not concerned with energy and matter, im concerned with something that can be supported, be validated and be reliable! Not something that is said and expected to be believed that dont produce any of those 3! In a rational world in order to believe something you DO need evidence, however if your someone who is less critical (and religious ppl across cultures and denominations have proven to be...countless times) then you need your imagination! and thats all it is!
@mattboyo Tens of thousands were crucified. It was the Romans' favorite use of capital punishment - to put dissenters and rebels on display! However, it is even more unlikely that a crucified man would be scurged, crowned with a vine of thorns, stabbed in his side, and buried with such expensive cloth, Atheists, clinging to ignorance
Until you go and research the "four" several holy foreskins, baby blankets and vials of Mary's milk yourself; I will continue to believe that you get your information from brochures
Many years ago, as a full fledged believer, I researched Josephus to see what support there was for the Jesus story. I was shocked to find that it was either partly or totally a forgery. From there I kept reading outside the dogma mills and I know how you feel because that is how I felt. Mad that I'd been bamboozled for so many years. I have kept reading and researching and what a lot of hooey this whole thing is .
I appreciate that you care. But, I will say this and I don't think anyone can disagree on this. Truth is, yes, there are a lot of yahoos out there who want to force the idea of christianity to people. They use means of trickery...such as the ones you've presented. They do this in the hopes that if there is physical evidence of "God" being here on Earth, then, people will believe...when the real idea behind God should be nothing but --Faith. For many, that's not enough. Sad.
That does not mean that a creator does not exist. To explain this "crazy" idea I just presented, one would need to look into the Second law of Thermodynamics...and if we get into that, we would be getting ito writing a whole new novel on YouTube. Needless to say, we really don't need any proof of a God, not Mary's Milk, not a foreskin, not a hair, nothing, not the galaxy, and definitely not science (even though science is awesome). All you need to do is look inside yourself to find it. Simple.
@BPhire I agree, BP. Simplistic people need simplistic solutions and explanations. Whatever energy is behind our creation is what God is - not necessarily a human like entity although some people have the need to picture it that way. I don't find it difficult to picture an energy and call it God rather than a Charleton Heston look-alike. I doubt very much that it needs worship or adoration. I further don't think there is a personal interest in anything human.
exactly its something internal within you, not some external being! compare 'god' to santa claus, the tooth fairy etc...ppl can distinguish them as fantastical beings but why nto god? clearly a mental block somewhere!
And as an addendum to my last post. I think people display how weak they are when they are searching for signs of God. People have the right to believe in a creator of everything around us. But for some reason not being able to prove the existence isn't something that should be viewed as "bad" or "stupid." For example, all of our brains have thoughts but none of us can display on a table what we're thinking. In other words, we know we have them but we cannot prove it.
see thats the thing atheists dont believe a man called jesus never existed (becos theres probably been several) what they dont believe in is that he was the son of 'god' there a big difference and it usually starts with the word ignorance!
that isnt evidence that its the burial cloth of christ, that is evidence that it is more than likely the burial cloth of someone that was crucified. How many people were crucified ? religion is clinging to straws!
Great. So, now that you've gathered the scientific analysis that this is indeed the cloth of someone crucified. Now, you can't believe that it might be a man called "Jesus." I wonder if was common for criminals that were executed by crucifixion back in those days received a crown of thorns.
@mattboyo Tens of thousands were crucified. It was the Romans' favorite use of capital punishment - to put dissenters and rebels on display! However, it is even more unlikely that a crucified man would be scourged, crowned with a vine of thorns, stabbed in his side, and buried with such expensive cloth, Atheists, clinging to ignorance.
@mattboyo Did I ever mention the bible no i said what dead man can leave a radiation burn and and most crucified people were either burned are thrown in heaps outside the city's they were crucified in not buried in rich mans tombs with a rich cloth over their face not one mention not the bible you should really read the comments before replying.
You say the shroud is a ancinet fake, yet even with your so called enlightened brain and modern technology you can't explasin how the positive negative image came to be on the shroud. You know nothing yet talk about facts, yet you don't know what you are talking about. You are a confused man who can't explain where the image came from. For someone who knows nothing you sure do post a lot. Tell us oh mighty one where the image came from, how it got there, and from who or please stfu
Why dont you tell us where it came from...leaving out your own beliefs, youl find yourself in the same position! The only difference is religionists wont accept any thing else other than faith! which makes them ignorant!
Except that there are, according to the Catholic encyclopedia, other similar shrouds in existance. How many shrouds did Jesus have? OR is it a natural phenomenon caused by embalming chemicals and nothing to do with magic?
Catholic Encyclopedia : A certain difficulty was caused by the existence elsewhere of other Shrouds similarly impressed with the figure of Jesus Christ and some of these cloths, notably those of Besançon, Cadouin, Champiègne, Xabregas, etc.,
5'11" is pretty darn tall. I find it a little too tall. the Average height then was Approx 5'6". Isaiah 53 doesn't indicate a tall person. Height certainly doesn't prove anything but the image of him portrayed thru history seems to indicate an average, sort of unattractive guy
@BPhire Well, if you were to make a fake you would have to do thorns. I don't trust the people who controlled and owned it. Then or now.. They are liars and violent and they have no relation to Jesus. But these maniacs make such claims
@IExposeMormonism Well, if you were to make a fake you would have to do thorns"
Considering there is no historical support for his life and that his crucifixion story runs totally against all traditions and laws of the time, it is highly unlikely a crown of thorns makes a difference.
Some claim that there was an imprint of a cross also seen on the shroud which is interesting considering that the cross as a symbol wasn't used by Christians until the third century. Previous to that it was a fish.
Yeah. Course. Very odd, I'd never heard of that but if true, it would suggest (to me) a late forgery. Though, saying that, how easy would it be to accidentally or naturally print a cross shape on there? I mean, it's only two lines, innit? surely the easiest shape to make naturally and accidentally.
Coincidentally though, I fell onto a news page earlier with someone claiming to have found Aramaic writing on it. Paradolea maybe, otherwise I wouldn't know what to think about that!
People seem to always be "finding" thngs. Helene who found the "true cross" and now every Catholic Church boasts having a piece, the whole amounting to a box car of firewood. There are a number of holy foreskins, Jesus baby blanket and umblical cord and vials of Mary's milk. Ron Wyatt (a male nurse/ amateur archeologist) has "found" all kinds of relics as well. This is just another relic.
P.s. Just snooping through your page and watched the "Dead Man" prank. That's terrible!!:-)
Poor girl! That could screw someone up for life. My uncle, a typical, hard, tough, no nonense Northerner (northern England) found someone hanging in the trees round the back of his house. My uncle did all he could, try to lift him or bring him down but couldn't. Turned out the guy had got into drug debts with a local gang*.
Anyway, screwed my unc up for a long time. couldn't get out of bed for weeks...
And he is the type that wouldn't miss a day of work even if he had been bitten by a rabid dog at the weekend. He was the type who would recommend "shrugging off" clinical depression.
She could get post traumatic stress with that.
*Not long after, I was in the pub down the road. The landlord got a phone call and the whole pub heard him shouting down the phone. He hung up, walked into the public toilet and BANG. He shot himself in the head. He had also got in debt with them...
They had come round the week before. Placed a pistol on the table and said "pay us the money next week, or use that on yourself. If you do neither, we will use ours on your family while you watch and then do you in".
I was in the pub when he killed himself. Quite a shocker, that!
Anyway, very off topic but I do worry for that girls mental wellbeing after that.
I'll have a look at Blue Maze. Nice one, thanks for the suggestion!
That would have been a shock to the system all right, especially if the only dead he had seen before were in coffins. Finding something like that takes away the niceties and reveals the ugliness of death.
ha! Holy Foreskin?? Sounds like something Robin would utter at the sight of seeing someone "uncut" (I believe the majority of Americans circumsize?).
I wish I had a holy foreskin. Would make a great keyring!
Back to the clip. Bet they wouldn't allow a stunt like that on either of our countries (UK and US) TV, would they?
My uncle had seen 2 people (that I know of) who died after separate pub fights and I believe he found his friend, OD'd on heroin but finding a kid hanged seems harder to me.
Never in the army, or owt like that, so death wouldn't be something he'd be used to.
my best friend was kicked out by his mum and moved in with his dad. 3 weeks later, he comes home to find his dad hanging in the hallway. Now that really fucked him up! He soon turned to heroin, no doubt to dull the pain. He would never, ever talk about it with us. eventually, he kicked gear (temporarily), and suddenly found religion, which was even stranger than the drugs to me.
I agree. He's one of the most intelligent people know (currently doing Phd in psych) but I think he was desperate for something to cling to. Interestingly, at this time, he was in a terrible, depressive state. His mum couldn't cope, so the local vicar told her that he should stay at the Vicarage. That Vicar was fantastic, never once so much as discussed religion but maybe my friend witnessed the good that can come from it (as proven by the vicar) which interested him.
OK. Should be with you now. Please let us know if you don't recieve it. YouTube forum and messaging can be bizarrely poor, when you consider how brilliantly the rest of the site is designed.
Sometimes, I can't link onto the sites you have given me and have to to do a search. Man, the mummified child thing was a hoot. I've passed it onto a couple of the other posters. It's too good to miss.
LOL, this is entertaining. who in the modern age could go for this shit. plus, hey. this video is actually quite old compared to modern science. newer videos are much more of these times and our ability to understand something. this is old video. but... i found it very entertaining, i love a good fairy story!
a good answer my friend. Our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ is with our Father in Heaven and also deep within our hearts it saddens me to hear people ridiculing Jesus and our Father but the day is drawing near when everyone will stand before God and will have to ansswer to him God bless my friend
If the blood samples from the Shroud was compared to the sample from the Ark by Ron Wyatt there would be a stated scare to all people if they were one and the same.
Suppose they put the samples from the Shroud and put in a growth medium look at the chromosomes
Did they 14C test the actual body of the cloth or did they test a patch or re-weave? Another mystery - the Bible states that Jesus' head was wrapped separately from his body, yet the shroud shows otherwise. I'm not being a skeptic - either for or against the evidence. It's just important to weigh in on all the details before making any inferences.
There is another video on here showing that they carbon dated a piece that had been woven in to cover the burn. The man that originally dated the shroud and did not believe it spent the end of his life trying to show the mistake he made when it was pointed out to him. He originally thought the people were crazy, and while trying to prove them wrong, he realized that he was the one that made the mistake.
i have a question, why are this shroud and all shrouds alike so big?

@fencingperson
It is 8 X 2 Cubits, 1st century measurement.

Leivinn20 1 year ago
You fucking idiots. Mollusks date as older because the material used to make the shell is older! It would be just like if I build a house out of volcanic rock, if a scientists dated the rock, it would be millions of years old.
c-14 dating has been calibrated due to the differences in carbon in the air over time. The Bristlecone pine issue relates to things over 3,000 years old, and doesn't apply to the shroud.

ah yes but theres a good example of a religious person saying because he had a wound on his right side it could have only been jesus.

@totheword3000 you my friend are4 delusional. You ask for my explanations...with all respect, im no the one explaining this in narrow minded terms of God or religion. I agree, there may be some other explanation for it (because i am open minded you see). Now youre the one claiming it to be the the definite burial cloth of christ, i dont want to hear a sentence that starts with 'i belive' or 'the bible says' but please tell me what empirical evidence you base that assumption on?!
mattboyo 1 year ago
@totheword3000 yes i know you didnt refer to the bible, but is that or is it not at the epicentre of your beliefs? See i like to get to the centre of the issue rather than beat around the bush, therefore i did read your comment, but instead of flunking round issues (which seems to be a common personality trait in religious people) i went straight into it! Your level of defensiveness in the comment also implies you do not have an answer to my question.
mattboyo 1 year ago

Could this be incorrect?
swanningaround 1 year ago
@swanningaround carbon dating is usually accurate, however there are occasions when discrepencies occur, it would be interesting to note though, that when they do occur, it is usually with artifacts of fossils saild to be thousands or millions of yrs old!

from childhood, into adulthood can a human properly distinguish fantasy from reality that is the question and what happens when the line between each gets blurred :P
mattboyo 2 years ago
@mattboyo - There is the added problem in that some adults go on to become compulsive liars. Do they actually believe their own stories and what leads them to continue lying?
LoraSinger 2 years ago
well in the case of religion, it has been found empirically to be a strong indicator of a coping mechanism, a coping mechanism which shields them from the harshness of life, however to much time in this 'internal fantasy' blurs the line between that and the external reality they exist in, making them withdraw themselves creating an internal construct or 'ideology' which becomes highly believable to the individual concerned, so they wont see it as lying. You get what i mean? lol
mattboyo 2 years ago
@mattboyo - It is said that a person under hypnosis won't lie but this is not true. In actual fact, when challenged, when people under hypnosis are convinced of a certain fact, they will lie and back peddle to unhold that lie. This religious brain washing seems to become so central to these people that an attack on their religion is considered to be a personal attack on them and they defend it with lies if need be.
Matthew1944 2 years ago
To be honest i dont knwo much about hypnosis, ive read lots of research on it etc...n there is truth in what you said, someone under hypnosis is not 'out of control' in what they say or do...they have complete control, however the inhibition to manipulate things as you would in normal conscious conditions is usually removed depending on the level of hypnosis. So yes you could still lie, however from another point of view if the inhibitions, worries etc are removed...why feel the need to lie?!
mattboyo 2 years ago
@mattboyo - why feel the need to lie?!
Matthew1944 2 years ago
2) Physically, those roses were hidden behind the other person. Hypnotized or not, one normally could not see the flowers yet the hypnotized person could see them. Strange!!!!!!
Matthew1944 2 years ago
very strange...the second part that is, the first part your referring too is either called a 'positive hullucination' or a 'negative one' i get mixed up between the two. But im sure derren brown done it one of his series with a guy in a room. The roses being able to be seen i dont have a clue, unless covertly mybe using some NLP the idea of the roses is put in to the session i havent a clue lol!
mattboyo 1 year ago
@mattboyo -....
It sure is. I got that from a book on hypnosis in dentistry. Still can't figure it. The subject could never have seen the roses - physically impossible. Yet under hypnosis, he did n't see the man but did see the roses. Wonder if there is an element of ESP there?
Matthew1944 1 year ago
Yh i can understand how positive and negative hullucinations work, (i have a few courses on basic /advanced stage hypnosis and clinical hypnosis) however the point about ESP is an interetsing one...Theres a branch of psychology called transpersonal psychology, theyve got their own journals etc, they focus on those areas that are deemed 'psychic' or 'esp' however, if you dig around you find that that branch is funded by organisations that try to promote the idea of such phenomenon, and you

mattboyo 2 years ago
@mattboyo Interesting because I was married to a compulsive liar and my two children are affected to a certain degree with it. The girl admits that she seems to feel the need to lie but tries to control it. The boy just plain lies and withdraws when confronted. It seems to be a genetic thing.
Matthew1944 2 years ago
Yes indeed thats one possible explanation for it, there is alot of biological evidence for that too, theres also lots of evidence for being 'conditioned' to le, however there are other developmental mechanisms involved from a psychoanalytical perspective, they make interesting reads too.

LoraSinger 2 years ago
I appreciate that you care. But, I will say this and I don't think anyone can disagree on this. Truth is, yes, there are a lot of yahoos out there who want to force the idea of christianity to people. They use means of trickery...such as the ones you've presented. They do this in the hopes that if there is physical evidence of "God" being here on Earth, then, people will believe...when the real idea behind God should be nothing but --Faith. For many, that's not enough. Sad.
BPhire 2 years ago
That does not mean that a creator does not exist. To explain this "crazy" idea I just presented, one would need to look into the Second law of Thermodynamics...and if we get into that, we would be getting ito writing a whole new novel on YouTube. Needless to say, we really don't need any proof of a God, not Mary's Milk, not a foreskin, not a hair, nothing, not the galaxy, and definitely not science (even though science is awesome). All you need to do is look inside yourself to find it. Simple.
BPhire 2 years ago
@BPhire I agree, BP. Simplistic people need simplistic solutions and explanations. Whatever energy is behind our creation is what God is - not necessarily a human like entity although some people have the need to picture it that way. I don't find it difficult to picture an energy and call it God rather than a Charleton Heston look-alike. I doubt very much that it needs worship or adoration. I further don't think there is a personal interest in anything human.
Matthew1944 2 years ago
exactly its something internal within you, not some external being! compare 'god' to santa claus, the tooth fairy etc...ppl can distinguish them as fantastical beings but why nto god? clearly a mental block somewhere!
mattboyo 1 year ago
And as an addendum to my last post. I think people display how weak they are when they are searching for signs of God. People have the right to believe in a creator of everything around us. But for some reason not being able to prove the existence isn't something that should be viewed as "bad" or "stupid." For example, all of our brains have thoughts but none of us can display on a table what we're thinking. In other words, we know we have them but we cannot prove it.

Some claim that there was an imprint of a cross also seen on the shroud which is interesting considering that the cross as a symbol wasn't used by Christians until the third century. Previous to that it was a fish.
Matthew1944 2 years ago
Yeah.

Cheers.

Sorry for being so off topic.

Sometimes people just trade one addiction for another and religion is one of them.

Thanks for the chat, mate!

OK. Should be with you now. Please let us know if you don't recieve it. YouTube forum and messaging can be bizarrely poor, when you consider how brilliantly the rest of the site is designed.
Hope you like it!

Whether it is real or fake my Savor still lives, in heaven sitting at the right hand of the father.
Jesus is the way, truth, light and the Son of God; the only way to the father.

a good answer my friend. Our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ is with our Father in Heaven and also deep within our hearts it saddens me to hear people ridiculing Jesus and our Father but the day is drawing near when everyone will stand before God and will have to ansswer to him God bless my friend

the shroud of turin is fake period.

If the blood samples from the Shroud was compared to the sample from the Ark by Ron Wyatt there would be a stated scare to all people if they were one and the same.
Suppose they put the samples from the Shroud and put in a growth medium look at the chromosomes
krystalmanor 2 years ago

Here's a question for you, preachersaredumb.
WHERE does Truth exist?
If you think religion is a bunch of horse manure, and you think that matter and energy is all that exists, then WHERE does Truth exist?
Truth is NOT a physical entity.
It is neither matter or energy.
And yet, every human being bases his/her life on this concept every second of every DAY.
TRUTH, is an entity BEYOND the physical world.
Preachers, however misguided at times, know more about the TRUTH than YOU.

If you don't believe in God or gods, then you don't believe in anything beyond matter and energy.
Tell me where Truth exists, hotshot.
Otherwise, you are just another pretensious adolescent atheist loser who has NO fucking idea what the hell he is talking about.
BEFORE you criticize the beliefs of others, analyze your own, ok?
