They eggs are actually outside, they hatch and like a larva type abducts the human and then grows inside the human. Its a weird two step process... the human in this scene is restrained in slime while the already hatched alien continues to grow inside of him. So the human is not actually an egg, but a carrier of the alien.
Yeah the Alien uses the humans as like a carrier for the hatched egg. The egg hatched and they attach themselves into a human being through the mouth/digestive system to in a way cacoon/metamorph inside, thus breaking out of the human when they are finished 'incubating" LOL
