I live in a country with universal healthcare, and it's great! The thing about universal healthcare is, that the gov doesn't decide how you should be treated. You and your doctors do. With universal healthcare no one is denied medical treatment. People in America are dying bacause they can't afford insurance. that's just wrong! just forget about your fear of socialism and help each other.

I believe that the State should control services like health care or child care. But people still have the right to choose their own doctors and schools. the only difference is that you don't have to pay for it. But yes there will always be a private sector as an alternative to the public one, but that just improves the quality of the treatments. They were denied because they were so expensive. She would never have been able to afford the drugs in the US, and insurance tends not to pay once illnesses reach a certain cost. The argument is not about all people being entitled to health care, it is about people paying for other peoples insurance, the tax burden it would put on us, the increase in deficit, and most likely an increase in the amount of waiting for doctors because of 55 million new people. Welfare is a socialistic system, but provides people that are disabled, have children and/or jobless for a period a relief. Universal healthcare does not need to be added on.
Approval rating is high for healthcare in Canada compared to the U.S. and other countries. Now looking at the Canadian system tells different stories. Lack of doctors, high taxes, and wait times. You think it would be easy to tell from being in Canada, I guess not for you.
System does not mean its good if no one starts a protest. Flaws can still be pointed out just as I did with the Canadian Healthcare system.

With universal healthcare no one is denied medical treatment. I believe that the State should control services like health care or child care. But people still have the right to choose their own doctors and schools. the only difference is that you don't have to pay for it. But yes there will always be a private sector as an alternative to the public one, but that just improves the quality of the treatments. All I'm saying is that Unviversal Health Care is necessary for those who can't afford insurance.

Sure the state CAN provide services (as a monopoly, participation with which is enforced with threats of violence) but the question of whether they should is much more complex, and the answer is relative to each individual and their preferences.
Anyone who understands how economics works, can see why state services are destructive. It squashes diversity, disrupts the equilibrium of pricing, and under-serves the market.
Don't project YOUR preferences on EVERYONE by force.

They were denied because they were so expensive. She would never have been able to afford the drugs in the US, and insurance tends not to pay once illnesses reach a certain cost. In the US she wouldn't have got the drug at all. Your system doesn't stop people dying, it just means that money decides everything.

are you saying its OK for GOV to deny care but not privet companies? the drug in question is affordable in the US and women use them all the time. and insurance CO do stop paying after a certain amount but that is how insurance works. like my car insurance will pay up to 50,000 for an accident but i can always increase the amount. insurance is to cover a risk. if you are sick the risk is 100%. what we need to do in the US is have tort reform open up the market and let competition in.

I'm being dishonest. Your health care system is better then ours. Every Canadian news station shows unhappy Canadians over health care. All my friends and family are pissed over having free health care. LOL

took a x-ray and my right lung was completly deflated and my left lung was barly producing oxigan for my body my asma had caused that if i hadn't gone to the hospital (whitch i went to from the doctor first and he called an ambulance after i took about 6 medician in 1 hour that should last 4 hours each i still couldn't breath ) i might have died if obama had his way and no asma caused problems cauld be treated at hospitals i wouldn't be her writing this comment

Im concerned about deficits too, because in the 8 years before we came into office Washington enacted two large tax cuts primarily for the wealthiest Americans, added a prescription drug benefit to Medicare, funded 2 wars all without paying for it. Amendment 10 states that powers not delegated to the Federal Government in the Constitution is thus delegated to the states and the people. The argument is not about all people being entitled to health care, it is about people paying for other peoples insurance, the tax burden it would put on us, the increase in deficit, and most likely an increase in the amount of waiting for doctors because of 55 million new people. Welfare is a socialistic system, but provides people that are disabled, have children and/or jobless for a period a relief. Universal healthcare does not need to be added on.
