your graphics are very distracting, I suggest you use neutral tones and use a wider shot. You're too close and the orange background makes my eyes hurt. Your audio is bad as well i'm afraid, and for such a tutorial it is essential to have good sound quality. Why not a white background and smaller black text on it, not over your chest and not glowing orange. Don't use cheap backdrop images, go white, it's easy and looks a lot more professional and smart (Mac adverts...).
Mr. Steve, your a charm to me, I learned a lot everytime i watching your video, sorry for my bad english, by the way Im from the philippines English is my 3rd language. your video really worth to watch. more power and Good luck. hpw you can teach me more! but im just a student and i dnt have credit card.... is there's any other way that maybe i can participate to your skype online session class... His pronunciation of "thorough" is odd. It seems to me to be a North American anomaly. All other English speakers I have heard pronounce it so the last syllable rhymes with the "burgh" of "Edinburgh", and not to rhyme with "toe".
Hey, nice video ,i know most of them , but i didn't pay attention for the pronunciation ,i mean sometimes i hear "thorough" like "through".
Okay thank u for ur great efforts ,i learn from u so fast through ur videos ,even though i have taken many courses in English ,but i have very tough teacher, his face like thunder,i dunno why, but u are having agood sense of humor and i like ur smile too.
hi mr. steve i love to watch your video, and it help me a lot to learn more english, i am rose from philippines!! im not verry good in english actually, your video help me a lot!!!! i like the way you teach take care & god bless
Hi Steve, I just wanna tell you I've seen your videos for the first time and I already love them! Hehehe, your examples (like the pretty and funny girl saying "th") are very useful and make me laugh and I hope I will increase my english skills by watching all your videos.
I really suggest you watch my TOEFL Talk 4 video to get an idea about how to structure your speaking in 45 or 60 seconds. You will need to practise. Try recording yourself so you can evaluate yourself. Try to be careful of timing as you practise on a daily basis.
thank you for the English sessions, I like listening to your accent and advice. My question is, I will be passing the TOEFL test in February, 2009 and my weakest point is SPEAKING, like developing an idea, it´s back up, logical conclusion.. How will I master in it, whether to write the topic down first or talking aloud at home when nobody is listening? ..What do you suggest for best SPEAKING practicing? Thanks a lot. Your comment will be highly appreciated. Greets Kamila
'thorough' is an adjective used to describe something which is done with great care because it was done in detail . How about a synonym like 'meticulous'? That word is a Latin one and I bet all of our Latin language speakers would know it.
my friend there are a very good way to speak english with the correct pronunciation..it is some cds its name is accent reduction by jane wellborn try to get it...
Thanks for adding to my stock knowledge.

I was going over 'word choice' during my advanced class with one of my students from Saudi Arabia this morning. What a coincidence!!!!!
I would say, "it brings back some cool memories".
Steve
PS Be careful of preposition choice!

1- it reminds me with cool memories .
2- it reminds me of cool memories .

For sure! Yet another 'th' word. I purposefully chose 'though' due to it's almost identical spelling to through etc.

I can't see the video... youtube said that this is no longer avaliable.
These are some terms in portuguese used to search english lessons on the internet:

But what does 'though' mean?
fred4horse 3 years ago
Though is used for contrasting two ideas. For example, 'Though/ Even Though she is sad, she is laughing'
If you speak French, it would be equivalent to the meaning of 'même si'
Hope this helps!
