looks like the dog has a fairly straight back does he? I can't stand these german shepherd's that look like half frogs, there is no way that is a breed standard as the kennel clubs see it. you watch one of those british sheperds in the showring and tell me that the dog walks normally. Those dogs are mutated so badly it's disgraceful, if i were at a show and saw one of those dogs i would boo them for sure!

@afghi420 mate, i have a purebred german shepherd, mum was a working dog and dad a show dog. Her line is certified as purebred by the kennel club.

Her back is straight. It really unhealthy for a dog to have a curved back, thats why you see most german shepherds get hip and back leg issues.

My dog actually recieved a 0 on its hip test. So it shows how damaging a serious curve is to a german shepherd.

@bebill2 Sure, i think that should be more than obvious to anyone with a brain how damaging that curve in the spine must be, somewhere down the line some seriously inbred brit must have been in charge of the KC's Shepherds. And for some strange reason they thought this severe downward curve in the spine looked good. Maybe if all you ever used your dog for was posing with his hind leg extended back, like you see EVERY shepherd doing in pictures. They could quickly begin fixing these flaws as well
