  • i killed the motherfucking one that crawled on me in my sleep here in colorado

  • A house centipede, genus Scutigeromorpha - they really are harmless.

  • @Myopicvisions I hate that they call it a "house" centipede, as if they're emplying that could be in my house. I'd move.

  • idiot

  • Wow I just saw one of those creeps !!!!!

  • It's a butterfly... True story.

  • get it it is a rare bug it is a caterpillar 1000000 years ago/ [not kidding saw it in sience channel]

  • thats so damn cool

  • Those are called "House Centipedes". I get them in my home in LA quite frequently. They're startling but pretty harmless.

  • We have those all over Iowa and one day my girl friend was screaming in the bath room and go there. She had been standing on the toilet for 3hours because one of these were on her towel when she put it on! So I move a couple things and there it was about 4 inches long scary as shit would have taken pictures but I threw it in the toilet cause my girl slammed the door as soon as I picked it up and the fucker tried to climb out so I had to flush!

  • I would have killed that motherfucker.

  • we have thoughs all over iowa and i hate the creepy little things

  • cool

  • common household centipede, and they can bite.

  • Yep, Its a Scutigera Coleoptrata

  • thats just wrong on so many levels

  • a spider had sex with a centipede. This is what came out.

  • really, unless im mistaken.... thats a centipede, which , if im correct, is poisous

  • Ahhhh Its a Spiderpede!!

  • jeannec1 is right, it is a house centipede, also affectionately known as a "thousand-legger". They are actually quite beneficial, and are predatory on other insects and spiders. Although technically poisoness, they are COMPLETELY HARMLESS to people, and cannot bite you---their jaws are just too small. If you find these in your house, chances are that you have few insect pests around---just call them the house patrol.

  • the nema of this insect is

    Scutigera Cleopatrata

  • dude

i just saw one of those in my bedroon yesterday

    it looks creepy

  • that looks more like a silverfish than a centipede....

    those suckers are uuuugly!!!

  • Spiders have EIGHT legs.

It's a house centipede; they usually live in walls and basements.

  • thats better then having it crawl on ur arm. i just had that happen right now! DX -shivers-

  • oh man that bug looks fucking hostile. holy shit. tell it we don't negotiate with terrorists.

  • lol, not a silverfish, not even close to a silverfish. Silverfishes are very primitive insects and they have 6 legs, if I had my arthropod handbook on hand I could tell you what exactly it is, but it is closely related to millipedes and centipedes.

  • that is a silver fish ya dumbasses

  • Omg i saw one of those at my cousins house in greenwich Connecticut(yes, their wicked rich) and we were freaked the fuck out. Ive been looking for what it was called for 2 yrs, finally i found it...damn these are scary lookin

  • This is a house centipede and it has fangs that cannot penetrate human skin, so it is harmless. It is venemous but if it is capable biting through the skin it will only hurt as much as a bee sting. I have noticed more of these have been showing up in central New Jersey over the past few years.

  • its a millipede and it is very posionus

  • Damn i hate centipedes. They always find a way into the damn house in the Summer! lol. The world would be a much better place without them.

  • thousand leger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • those make exelent fishing lures

  • ew i have them too +o( .

  • The House centipede, Scutigera coleoptrata, is a yellowish grey centipede with 15 pairs of legs. Originally endemic to the Mediterranean region, although i have seen one in florida ate my relatives house, so i'm guessing southern american regions as well. completely harmless, the actually rid you're house of ants and spiders.

  • IT ATE UR RELATIVES HOUSE OMG

  • Yea, I didn't see your comment when I posted. Everything you've got there is correct except the regions, they inhabit homes as far north as Michigan.

  • It's a common house centipede. They're relatively harmless.

  • SORRY! This IS a house centipede. House centipedes are harmless & our allies. FREE PEST CONTROL! Despite their name, house centipedes are quite capable of living outdoors. They can be found under logs or rocks or behind rotting tree bark. Take care of these miniature, invertebrate wonders and they'll help you control your pests.

  • Its defo a house centipede. I know.....I have freaking loads of them in my house in new jersey...freaking disgusting. I hope you killed it. =D

  • I'm PRETTY sure it's a silverfish

  • Nah way man, silverfish are Tini, this is a centipede, be careful some of these are poison

  • im budding in for no reason :D

  • looks like my penis

  • damn man you must have herpes and ghonorea all together : P

  • thats one ugly penis. HAHAHAHAHA! lol

  • sliverfish are boring, but these are cool.

  • The most common name for these guys is "House Centipede." However, this the real name behind this guy is a Silver Fish. In their larval stage, they are small and have a silver color that flashes as it moves. They also eat paper in this stage As they grow, they lose their silver coloring, becoming brown. Their legs get HUGE and they get real ugly. In their adult stage they eat smaller bugs and other pests. I know they're really scary, but they really clean up the other bugs.

  • What the heck?

Silver Fish and House Centipedes are something totally different! Not even in the same Class...

  • its a choped off hairy dick that moves

  • lmfao!

  • lmfao!

  • lol I found a house centipede at a basketball tournament and my friend started jumping on it.

  • That's a House Centipede.

  • thats a HUGE centipede!!! But weirdly different

  • WATCH OWT ITS GOWNA EAT YO FACE OFF :3

  • I thought it was a caterpillar until it moved. Looks like a centipede species...

  • yea i have those in my basement

    lol there centipedes

  • lol omg it looks lik a centipede had sex with an spider lol

  • hahaha me too i thought it was a centipede dat had sex with a spider hahaha lol

  • I have these things in my basement.

  • Yea it's a centipede?

  • arent these things poiseness

  • Only the big ones can bite threw skin, but their venom won't kill you! They're actually beneficial in the house if you have a bug problem... but they are quite alarming with their speed!

  • That's not a silverfish. Silverfish move much faster and are not usually seen in lit areas. This is my arch enemy: the house centipede. (wikipedia it for details). It is hands-down the only thing in the world that scares the living SHIT out of me. I can't stand them, yet here I am watching a video of them lol.

  • I am with you on that one! The first time I saw one of these was in Korea at midnight. I swear I stepped on that thing 5 times and it still didn't die. House centipedes: YUCK!

  • I'm a bug person, and this is one of the few arthropods I kill, just on principle that it's too fast and has too many legs.

  • god.... these damn things bite? I already hated them... now I hate them more...UGH

  • its half bread with a wood spider and a centipede/millipede lol

  • i have seen one of those before, in the girls bathroom at my old school :P it was creepy, everyone was screaming (well, sorta) or running round and telling people. LOL

  • yah i found one, thought id call it mine till it bit me and it does bite hard but i bite harder, he knows now

  • did you keep it

  • This is a "house centipede" (scutigera coleoptrata) originally found in the Mediterranean area, now happily existing all over the United States. They love to eat cockroaches, silverfish and termites - however they have a nasty bite so even though they are helpful, you don't want to get bit.

  • spot on did u know pound for pound they are the second fastest land dweling creature on the planet able to run 6 lengths of its body per second, the cheater can only manage 2. the the fastest is the tiger beetle able to run 8 body lengths per second

  • Thanks for informing them many people jus kill with out realizing these can be helpful bugs.

  • The Cheater? xD

  • it is a silverfish. THe are fast little boogers who usually wind up climbing down the wall in my house. There next stop is usually hell.

  • lol wrong^^

    Silverfish (Lepisma saccharina) ->6 Legs

  • Spider?....the fact that it has more than 8 legs should of clued you in on it not being a spider...I wish people would just search "wikipedia" for shit like this...just a plain old centipede.

  • its a bug big woop

  • NEVER!

  • Its a centipede, big whoop.

  • ese es un cien pies por mi casa encontre uno necesitan humedad y tierra son carnivoros (comen otros insectos ) vivos o muertos

  • that is what we call a silverfish.. I probably kill about 10 of these on a monthly basis.

  • how can you call this a silverfish, it's not silver, and certainly not a fish :P

  • dude sliverfish isnt a fish its a bug that eats wood. so happy with the new discovery i had told you?

  • yup, i stand corrected. upon finding the REAL silverfish, this is indeed a house centipede. +1 knowledge

  • BUHAHAHA =D lol you made a joke

  • It is indeed a common house centipede...PEOPLE!!

  • Yea, they are house centipedes, but up North in the Pa area we started calling them Silverfish...a nick name that's been used elsewhere spuratically, but is also a name of another insect.

  • lol, its only a house centipide

  • Hi, here is a scutigera coleoptrata, Friendly, Guillaume.

  • That is a HOUSE CENTIPEDE. I know because I get them all the time here in my room. I didn't know what the **** they were either so I searched bug archives until I read about them. The previous poster is right though they aren't poisonous to humans but they hurt like hell if they bite you.

  • I've notice that you like this little creature, no matter how it's called ;)

And I saw really small one but it got away before I got camera, very very small one ;)

  • do they really bite?

  • thats not a silverfish dink, its a house centipede, don't mess with them, they have a harsh bite, but not harmful to humans.

  • its a house centipede.

  • its not a centipede or a millepede! its a silver fish, there not eaven closley related, just caus they have more than 6 legs, dosent make them a centepede.

  • its a centipede! How did this guy not know that?

  • tis obviously some form of cenipede.

  • grossssss eww ? wtf is it ? its horrible

  • Uagh that was in your room?

  • after 5 people calling it a centipede, i have to agree that it just might be a centipede ...

  • May be a large centipede, but defenitly not a spider.

  • spiderpede

  • damn, thats a big ass centipede

  • definitely a centipede

  • i think thats a centipede

  • Yes it is.

  • nema potrebe da ju gazim, nek trce okolo, ne grize, ne prdi, ne smeta ;)

  • jako gadna buba, nadam se da si je zgazio poslije...
