ive loved skateboarding ever since i got consolidated 1 vid back in 97, but i don't agree with these dudes bitching about marketing and suits. The skateboarders are still the ones signing the contracts for the big bucks at the end of the day. I doubt any of these guys would refuse if mountain dew put a 2 million dollar contract in front of them.
In all fairness, Skateboarding is what I do, and it draws me away from computer work, I love doing it, because it really keeps you active and excersizes your muscles, its great fun and dont worry about the injury, it really doesnt hurt in skateboarding, try it, dont like it, try scootering. ;)

it's easy to see that this film doesn't have a huge million dollar documentary budget, and that it's not all oversaturating and shit (there's not ads and plugs all in it), they picked skaters to talk about skateboarding. what else do you want. lutzka can do what he wants he's that good. and dyrdek has been bringing skateboarding to the spotlight in every positive way possible. of course he's popular and is on mtv with his show, but in the end almost every episode is about skating.

rob contradicts what he says at the very begining by creating the street league. the judging mite be fare but this contest is treating skateboarding as a real sport with the espn coverage and the commentating is rediculous talking about trick selection and all this nonsense. rob has done alot for the sport but he has taken it to far with the street league

you know, there right. "where is the soul of skating going?". i know ive only been skating for a few years, but still alot has changed. kids are totally missing all of the enjoyment of skating cuz they are too focused on getting sponsored or whatever. when i started skating the only skateboarding video games were the tony hawk games and no one would just go and sound like big posers and say "skate is more realistic than tony hawk" and there really were no reality tv shows for skaters.

As much as I hate to say it, the Berrics is beginning to play the whole marketing side of skateboarding along with Nike and Zumiers and shit. And I don't mean exclusives, collabs, and such; they have to support themselves. I mean opening up an online shop that competes with companies that they supposedly support and making people pay for a video part. Not that I'd have any problems paying the skater for his work, but no one ever said that the money was going to Shane, if you feel me.

it's easy to see that this film doesn't have a huge million dollar documentary budget, and that it's not all oversaturating and shit (there's not ads and plugs all in it), they picked skaters to talk about skateboarding. what else do you want. lutzka can do what he wants he's that good. and dyrdek has been bringing skateboarding to the spotlight in every positive way possible. of course he's popular and is on mtv with his show, but in the end almost every episode is about skating.
