  • Not true, sportbike will be the hardest to do in slow speeds, weight is on top, so you tend to fall over earlier.

  • Wow... I'll be heading back to WA soon from England, and I've gotta say... compared to the parking lot test over here, this is shockingly simple. I'm not being uppity or trying to downtalk the skill it takes to pass any test on a bike, but wow... it's much simpler back in the States. The controlled stops and avoidance manoeuvres have to be done at 32mph, hitting a cone is an instant fail... going to be interesting moving back to the other side of the road though.

  • that seems almost impossible on a big bike like a harley or something

  • Before taking MSF test, get a permit and practice with a rider who can coach you. The MSF course is GRUELING because they work you for 6 hours at a stretch; by the time you're ready to test, you are EXHAUSTED.! You DO learn a lot but it is NOT for TOTAL beginners. Before you take the MSF course, you should have a licensed rider show you the basics only & then PRACTICE the simple stuff.! Save yourself the embarrassment of dropping your bike or popping the clutch! I speak from experience.

  • @cjfredonia In your opinion, is it easier to go through the endoresement course, or to get the permit, then go take the test?

  • @Demrush,The difficulty of the DMV test depends on the location..generally speaking, they ask you to do much less than the endorsement test. If you can do the circles & figure 8's w/o putting a foot down, you're good. You're done in 1/2 hour instead of 12 hours & you save a couple hundred bucks! But, even so, the MSF course is important because of their stress on safety issues. They teach 'intelligent' riding skills. I guess 'easier' is not always better. U have to have a permit in any case.

  • whats that yellow bike?

  • if I'm 16, Do I have to take the driving test?

  • Can I use my own bike?

  • too things i notice on that , 1 the harley does this guy think it wise to do a test on one,it was too big for the course & is he a experinence rider going for another test for some reason, 2) why is the sport bike at the end only got one front light. i'm from the uk so, our test is simliar too yours.and i just passed :D chuffed

  • only this? here: watch?v=b-yc22eqQsQ

in Brazil if you don't pass u need to pay (converting...more than one hundred dollars, for cars too)to try again

but once you pass(using only a 125 or 150cc bike)you can ride any kind of mtb

  • @ortafunk wtf isnt this video about motorcycles not 9/11?

  • I live in Indiana, and I am wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle for next spring. I already have my license. So do I just need to take a written test? Because I know I would fail that test just because I have never been on a motorcycle in my life.

  • ARE THESE THEIR BIKES OR ARE THE GIVEN FOR THE TEST

  • @tsilimon a Beginner needs to go to school & learn how to ride. Motorcycles are Not for Everyone, that course thing Is stupid that Is Not real life, real life Is You ride like everyone one Is drunk & has No brakes & gravel & curbs Is the devil & of course riding on a heavy traffic highway Is suicide waiting to happen everyone speeds. What to do at this point Is join A Church where They believe September 11 2001 was an Inside job.

  • @ortafunk It means the world trade centers did Not collapse because two 767 jet Airplanes loaded with jet fuel hit them because that Is technically Impossible. what happen Is the false government used Airplanes as a decoy thermate & high explosives so why don't you get your head out of your ass & quit believing these government motherfuckers are smart, they are a bunch of murderers.

  • dude with the supersports bike rapes

  • this test is so gay idk why people would do this when you can just go do a motorcycle skills test thing where they teach you everything and you getta bypass all this bullshit well at least in wyoming we got that

  • @GILLETTEWILDHOCKEY If you can really ride a bike, this is no problem at all. It sure beats taking a "course."

  • Yah, if you want to pay bookoo bucks...

  • @xxArcanexx really? mine was $15 plus a good insurance discount..

  • IF YOU CAN MASTER THIS TEST ON A SPORT BIKE THEN YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL RIDER!

  • @theden25 Any rider with competence should be able to do this test with any motorcycle.

  • The guy on the harley needs practice. That cone weave was terrible, and it isn't that hard to do on a big bike.

  • How far apart are the cones when doing the weaving?

  • @Shniggitt 12 ft apart with a 2 ft offset.

  • what bike is at 4:38 ?

  • just a question: do you need to have a normal drivers license in order to do the motorcycle driving test? its been bothering me for some time now lol.

  • i only have my permit for 1 month and have been in traffic and freeways numerous times already at 75mph.. I think riding in heavy traffic is easier than this test.. LOL!

  • @yourleftnut1 There was a point in time where I didn't even have a permit and I was riding everywhere, including to the dmv to take a permit test. I failed the first time. It was funny to see the folks at the dmv watching me take off on a bike that I'm not "endorsed" to ride.

  • So I take it you need your own bike to take the test for the license right? Or do they give you one for the tests?

  • anyone know how long you can ride your motorcycle on the streets with just a temporary permit?

  • @TyronakaBallar 90 days. You can get two instruction permits in the state of Washington. DOL may issue a third motorcycle instruction permit "if it finds after an investigation that the permittee is diligently seeking to improve driving proficiency."

  • The guy with the black bike at the end had a light out.

  • @Lablover1000 thats the high beam, he just has it turned off.

  • @Lablover1000 no they both come on if you activate the high beams if its low beams uts only one light

  • Can someone explain the restrictions of the Washington Permit and the differences it has with the full endorsement.

  • the guy at the end, dropping his bike:L:L

  • these guys suck

  • when is anyone riding a bike on the street gona weeve through poles er sum shit

  • How do they get to that place on bikes if they got no license yet?

  • Temporary Permit

  • @tsilimon Is there also an exam for a temp permit?

  • @tsilimon

hey sooo if you get a permit, how do you drive by yourself? you dont need someone next to you?

  • @tsilimon but you need a person with a motorcycle licence to to watch you correct?

  • @Lex5151 permit and accompanied by a licensed rider.

  • @Lex5151 Epic fail. Lamest question in a long time.

  • @InferiorThanYou Sorry, I don't get that.

  • the guy at the end was doing good till he sqeezed the front brake i looks like

  • how much do you wanna bet that instructor has NEVER driven a motorcycle in his life!?

  • You are correct.

  • @huebear Uh...You don't need to have driven a motorcycle in order to administer a test. It's pretty straight forward. You can't stall, you can't place your foot down, you can't skid...It's all noticeable to someone who doesn't ride a bike.

  • @huebear true

  • "end"man seemed like he was doing good too what happend

  • how tall is the driver at the end, he/she seemed to not be able to touch the ground to well

  • Hey ! Timi = good Job -I have Skoter Korekt Good lock :-) Peace !

  • what kind of bike is it easiest to pass on? I am interested in riding sportbikes but I hear they are monotonous for the test... any tips guys?

  • anything with low weight, low horsepower.

  • Ok, thank you very much

  • dirt bikes are i think i passed mine on a 150 yamaha

  • i just took the skills test it was easy up until the emergency stop i speed up and slam the breaks but i still go past the marker and the examiner said i was going proper speed when i knew i was going like 35 km

  • Nevada you can take a 3 day course for it and not have to bother with DMV at all other than to give them the certificate for your endorsement if you pass the test. Bikes are provided.

  • what happend at 8:37? he was doing so good.

  • Well, when wheels don't rotate with enough velocity, they stop producing their gyroscopic effect, which gives the rider balance. Lose that gyro, lose your balance. In practical terms, he tried to ride through a corner going too slow.

  • @tsilimon LOL i like the way you explain things. but i got 1 question. i live in north carolina united states. Do you have any idea how old you must be to get driver license? Im 17 YO right now.

  • All you have to do is go to the dmv and get the motorcycle handbook thing study it then take the test for the permit.. you dont have to take a skills test for the permit but you can only miss like 3 questions. with a permit you can't ride anyone on the back..

  • @tsilimon too much front brake is what happened

  • @CrazyCrazyJ He probably used the front brake.

  • boooooooooring

  • do they provide bikes to use?

  • You have to bring your own bike and riding gear.

  • The one in Bellingham provided small user friendly motorcycles

  • how hard is it to get a license in most states?

  • Not too hard. I did a some slow turn practicing in a parking lot and had no problem on the test.

  • not sure everywhere but in maryland you can take the computer test as many times as you want and dont pay until you pass.

  • Probably alot easier than Wa. Wa. has figured out how to endorse everything so they can make money endorsing and also make money fining if people are not. Wa is the most over policed state I have ever seen as far as ticketing for dumb stuff

  • Well "it" is pretty much everything. But I'm not gonna get in a "youtube comment fight" with someone whose obviously more mature, and wouldn't start such a thing. mmmk. thnx. bye.

  • Stan Ridgway rocks. Tell Doofus to go listen to his Fred Bizkit records and leave us alone.

  • Do I have to have my regular drivers license befor i go for my m1 lisence in california?

  • YES U DO NEED IT

  • Is it easier to take a skills test on a dirt bike? just wonderin

  • The only reason he fell is because he hit the brakes for some odd reason. Still this makes him another rocket amateur.

  • Lol i was soooo hoping the last guy would fail... he was acting all macho at the instructions, like he was too good of a rider to bother listening.

Justice. This cheered me up big time.

  • @verticalpivot Just curious as to the distorted observations you had that allowed you to reach a conclusion that he was "acting all macho at the instructions"? Was it because he had a nice jacket, bike, helmet, or perhaps a shaved head? What I noticed was he was nervous, you could see him bouncing his right leg, in addition his hands were in his pockets... Obvious sign of a defensive posture. You sir are a moron. [period]

  • turn your speakers off to avoid the crappy sound track on this video !

  • agreed, but a good video.

  • no kidding qwertshadow

  • that guy with the harley had the hardest bike for the test

  • @deathknight161, but on the "braking while turning" cruiser has easy way to do it, but the sports and enduro bike has hard because cruiser is lower. (center of mass is lower) sorry for bad english.

  • thanks for the vid

  • Do you have to own a bike beforehand? I thought they provide them at the course?

  • ok i don't get it...so is it bad that they put their foot on the ground when they turn?

and how should i take the test if i don't have a motorcycle?

and how hard is the test in Texas?

  • haha that was funny at the end

  • try passing ur test in the u.k if you want a challenge

  • Man the one in Georgia is way easier. About 10 years ago when my Dad took it he said they just made him do a figure eight and that was it. I just took it 2 weeks ago. They made me do more than a figure eight but it was still very easy.

  • Please tell me the guy on the Harley DIDN'T pass! I saw at least 3 infractions. But hey, he looked and sounded really cool didn't he. ;)

  • Awesome i didn't know it was that easy to get license in america... sad thing is that your cards dosen't work on more places than america but our European Convention cards work all over the world...

we begin with security controll... oils, chain, lamps, electronic systems, wheels, brakes... then slow driving... then brake in 70 kmh.. then 90kmh ... and then you drive on highway and then in the city...

  • Thanks a lot for this video. I watched it a few times, practiced on the empty lot, and passed the test on the first try.

  • Methinks you protest too much....

  • you cant ride on the streets with a 50cc

  • who says?

  • you can actually. Most places allow it. All you need for a 50cc and under in British Columbia anyway, is a valid drivers license.

  • Yes you can, you don't even need a license in most states, you just have to stay to the side.

  • What jacket did that sport bike rider have? Me want!

  • I have to take this exact test on Friday, I literally watched this video 5 times, biting my knuckles the whole time...

  • Here's what I did:

    I got up early.

    Walked about a mile.

Got on my bike and rode some on Interstate.

Got to the test site early and practiced.

Tried to go first while still loosened up....

If you can't do it during practice, go ahead and make an attempt.

It's amazing the riders that show up completely unprepared.... many don't pass....

  • thanks for the tips, i passed. i found out it wasn't that hard since you are allowed some mistakes, my examiner was nice also and allowed me to retry some of sets.

  • the examiner shouldn't be so "nice", sorry for me sounding like an asshole but you don't get retries on the road.

  • You do in a parking lot, which is all this test assesses.

  • and thats great if you plan to just drive in the parking lot, what are you retarded? take to wide of a turn and get hit by a truck, then ask for a "retry"

  • Wow you have it easy there. we have to pass your test just to get a learners permit also limited to a 250cc, 70kmh, no passengers, and only at night and have a L plate. Min 6 months later we get restricted licence after passing road test with a trailing car still cant ride after 10pm or before 7am or drink at all.If your under 25 then 18 months later you can do another test for a full licence, if your over 25 then its down to 6 months.

  • dam lol wher do u live... thats worse than cali's restrictions... far worse

  • Wall of Voodoo cover of Ring of Fire.. classic! lol!

  • how the hell did he fall off ? What was his mistake ? It happened way too fast I couldn't figure it out.. ?

  • I think he was to hard on his front brake while leaning over. Bike stopped and then gravity took over kerplunk.

  • makes sense. thx man

  • ROFL at the sound effects when the guy fell over.

That sucks man, did he pass?

  • Crashing the bike/laying it down is an automatic fail.

Using front brake in a low speed turn... moronic :P

That dude needs to downshift to a 250. Couldn't even do an offset weave on a sportbike lol

  • arent you going to flip if your using front brake while going fast?

  • possibly if you lock them up. Honestly, if the slow turn is hard to manage adding a little rear brake can help load the bike and make the turn easier.

  • You don't pull in your front brake completely, you teather it. Dumbass.

  • Actually, it's "feather" it. Tethering, or "teathering" for the spelling challenged, is a different act altogether. This is important because tying your hand to the brake with a piece of rope is, um, unsafe.

  • yea i like sports bikes better then any other vehicle. im like 14 i want a ninja for my first. think i should take alot of classes.

  • Take the MSF as soon as you can when you get your motorcycle permit. You will definitely be able to ride better (and MUCH more safely) than a lot of teenagers on bikes.

Don't let your friends teach you how to ride. It's a good way to get hurt.

  • I just finished taking the MSF course offered by my local Harley Davidson dealer. It was incredibly beneficial and it really teaches you how to become an excellent, SAFE rider. Sign up for a class. It is worth your time!

  • thanks ill try to get a lisence

  • nice im 15 and drive a sportbike in seattle its registered insured and has a plate but i cant get a driver lisense can you drive one with a driver permit for cars or do you have to take the course

  • You can get a learner's permit for motorcycles, but it is only good for 3 months (I think). You can keep on getting them, but eventually you will want to take the skills test to get your permanent license to avoid the hassle...

  • In Georgia they are good for six months but restrict the rider to daylight, dry roads, no interstates, and no passengers.

  • you forgot also has to be under 500cc

  • I took this class in Tacoma last year. I would highly recomend it to anyone experianced or not.

  • Actually, this was not a class. It was an actual exam. I do agree with you that the class would be valuable.

  • so did all these people pass, and why did the dirt bike guy have to go for so long?

  • thats not hard thats easy try to make the license in switzerland and you will see what hard is!

  • The guy with his back to the camera at the first duration of the video has a nice jacket. Anybody know the brand or where I can buy one like that?

    Thanks

  • Google: Icon Motorcycle Accessories

  • looked like Road Armor to me

  • thats valuable information! THANK YOU!

WIll be takking the test in a little while

  • So you can bring your own bike/scooter, right? Where was this filmed? I'd like to practice myself.

  • This was filmed at the large parking lot at the corner of Girard and D Streets in Bellingham, WA.

  • that looks like a hard test, here in oklahoma we don't half to take a test like that, our test is a written test then a riding test that is basic street riding with someone in a tail car. i have my endorsement but i dont' think i could do that test. congrats to everyone that has.

  • Sometimes I drop by and watch new riders taking the test. Riders keep showing up unprepared. The course has a lot of scratches and marks from dropped cycles. Those who have practiced pass with no problems. Makes you wonder about the skill-levels of riders you see every day on the street, especially those with their unwary girlfriends on the back.... You have to practice anything to achieve competence and riding a bike is no different.

  • i agree i don't think that someone can just stop at the training you get in a beginers class or at just taking the riders test. my large sportbike is much harder to operate at slow speeds than my old enduro.

  • I took it today. Just like the video and easy -on my scoot. There were 4 of us. One guy's bike fell over before the test started, leaked a tiny bit of gas and he was OUT. POW! The next two guys (Harley/Racer) failed the cone weave and they couldn't do the tight turns in the box. This course is not easy on a BIG bike or a RACE bike. Go Practice the course days ahead of time, it's painted in the parking lot.

  • It can be easy if you just study this video and then go practice. If I hadn't practiced, I would have failed on this tight course. There was no information available so I made this video!

  • I wasn't sure where this video came from and thought maybe the state put it up. Your video really helped me and no one in my test group knew anything about it.

  • hmmz well he was going really slow i bet its easy to stop the wheel like that, probably just too much brake while the wheel was turning?

  • thats funnny i have a 636 and the same jacket. thank God i used a diff. bike for the test or i woulda been all fucked up too.

  • LOL R1 guy Locked up front brakes up hahahha

    Nice Vid

  • it's a ninja 636...or a zx6r...I am not to good with kawi's, but i know its not an r1

  • oh shit your right what the fuck was i thinking?

    zx6r

  • Honestly it looks like he stalled and going so slow the back wheel locked.

  • I did this at a place in Kennewick when I got my license. It's not too tough, but I started riding a few months prior to it so I had some practice. The bike matters. I could NOT do it on a Honda Magna. You need something that'll do tight turns at low speed (low center of gravity).

  • what happened on that last one where it sounded like something blew up or something...?

  • ...hit by space junk.
