Obviously their going to be a few instances when he goes down easily, but when your the best player in the world your going to have 100 different people trying to hack you down. You have to take in consideration tactics of the manager, performance of the different players etc. Argentina for example have a pretty crappy defence and a very average midfield if you exclude messi,and a pretty average keeper. One player cannot take the slack if the rest of the team are not performing.

@chelseafc4evercfc the difference is when he "tackled" alves, his intention was clearly to hurt alves. he came in studs up, over the top of the ball (he could have easily won it fairly if he had wanted to), and stamped down. the fact that alves was quick enough to get out of the way doesnt make the challenge any less malicious. the rules say whether or not there was contact is irrelevant - red either way. (btw im not excusing alves's shameful acting, just saying he deserved the sending off)
