  • My guess: he dreams that the pocket watch takes him back in time (the wallpaper looks newer) to when his son was killed, but his son still dies. He wakes and hopes that the pocket watch really could take him back, but of course it won't. When he is old he goes nuts over the watch again, only this time he goes back in time in his own mind to his childhood, and is from then on insane or senile. He hasn't actually gone back in time since the wallpaper still looks old and the watch is still broken.

  • that thing must be made by nokia.

  • WE CANNOT CHANGED WHAT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. Brilliant movie. what i did undertsand of this film, is that this guy, has the power to go back and forth on time, in other words a time machine. People always want to go back in time to fix things or change the curse of everything, and maybe hope their lifes can different. this guy desperately tries to forget his sons death by going back and forth in time with no luck, the answer is simple WE CANNOT CHANGED WHAT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED,

  • That was amazing! How did you get the effect of turning back Big Ben?

  • @georgiajasper

I found out that Big Ben is operated by some Eastern Europeans and with a bribe of £5 I managed to get them to turn it on my command. It took a few attempts though:)

  • @RadekBNU thats awsome!

  • I think i got it. The clock only lets him go back to the past one time. So he did right, but his timing was off and his son still died. So all those years he still tried and tried to go back to the past till he got old. But its useless because he wont ever. Fact: you cannot change smething that has already happened. I dont understand the last part, though.

  • heh??

could someone explain to me what happened? I dont really get it...why did he want to go into the future, and then go back to the past when he was young again??

  • Great job, definitely got an emotional response from me and obviously others as well. I recently shot my first movie "English Laundry", and posted it here. I'd appreciate any views, looking to hear peoples thoughts. Thanks, again; great job.

  • This is one of my favorite short films that I've seen. I loved everything about it, great job! I'm going to start using film grain in my short films from now on, it gives it a really distinctive look.

  • good film how did you do the scene were he got hit by the car

  • amazing film mate, i noticed you went to bucks new university and i had a look at their website and its looks perfect for me i was just wondering what course you took?

  • Bloody Brilliant film! How did you crate the synchronous watch winding with the town clock shot? Was there an overlay? and if so....what program and editing technique did you use? Loved it. Especially the end. 5 out of 5 mate.

  • This is absolutely beautiful.

  • loved it... editin, lightin, colour toning n ovisly the story, just 1 thing to ask, how long it took from pre-productn to post? n how many crew members?

  • @sexnhell

The pre-prod took about 2-3 weeks, then the shoot 4 days and the post 3 weeks which makes about 7 weeks in total. I've done most of it myself with occasional help from friends (they are listed in the credits). I hope it helps.

  • @RadekBNU what did u have to do in pre-production, was it just the writing of the story, or is their more u have to do?

  • This is awesome! Very nice and I love the message at the end! Very clever work :)

  • wow i looked up the words on the back of the watch on google translate: We can not change the past. Thats what it came up as. and then i saw the end of the short film, which made me feel dumb, because it turned out i didnt have to do that. That taught me to finish watching films before i look up what something in it means.

Great concept though! It made me a little depressed, but I do love sad stories. Keep up the good work!

  • I have begun to make short films of my own and I really dug your short film. The clock scene and the son getting hit were the most powerful overall imo. Props!

  • @Sephitron Same here! The clock tower part was great! I wonder if they used a green screen for that.

  • It wasn't just a student movie, the production is far better, congratulations, but I didn't like the story so much specially the ending sentence didn't get me that much. And I wish you use a little less "on hand camera" I fon't know what you use shoulder pad or steady cam but there are some times that you need more stillness than moving, it is more like going with fashion, there were times that you could use tripod. But it was well done, congrats again man ;)

  • a little bit confused!!

    ^.^

  • what a touching story!

  • I thought this was a very moving film. A loss like this and one may never get over. One thing I wonder about is the necessity of showing the accident, was it something the father actually saw? I don't think so, in which case in may be a little gratuitous, but very poignant overall.

  • This was really nice :)

  • Nice films.. Are you going anywhere in life in regards to film?

  • I'm touched. It is incredible film!

  • this is incredible! i am inspired.

  • great work!brilliant!

  • amazing short film, incredible!!

  • It was wonderful. You have a beautiful mind for art. Really.

  • You have done an excellent movie here! Congrats!

  • There are some amazing shots in this, the car crash being one but especially the one of BIg Ben! Did you wait for like six hours in the same spot to get the time lapse on the clock? Thats severe patience!

  • Good Job man! I loved it! really!!! it's amazing! =D

  • This video needs more views imo. Really loved it

  • The car accident at part1 is a perfect sence

  • Hi Mate

Fairplay, I thought this film was fucking amazing. Im thinking of coming to Bucks Uni, what made you decide bucks Uni?

And i'd just like to say well done on making this film, looks really really professional, I hope i can make my films look this good in the future.

Also, how did you do the big ben part?

    Thanks

    James

  • amazing short film here.

    u did film and tv??

  • Did you/still go to Bucks New Uni? I'm hopefully going there this year. You have a real talent, I fell in love with this film!

  • @helied2me Thanks! I graduated this year. Good luck!

  • this was made well man... what did you use to film this? how did you do the clock changing at the same times as the watch??

  • @softspokenlv

Thanks! I used Panasonic AG-HPX301. The clock bit, as well as few others is just green screen and a lot of patience during compositing:)

  • that was pretty amazing:D

I like short films, because movies can get boring. But this was amazing. It kept me entertained, I fell in love with it.
