Sanyasa is indeed necessary. Don't believe in Gurus especially tantriks who claim to know the future. They are pure rank hypocrites and materialists. They have not yet got control of their senses. Stay away from Tantriks. Trust genuine Gurus like Paramahamsa Nityananda.

The gist of Swami's reply (as I understood it): While it is feasible to attain enlightenment without sanyasa, very few have attained it in practice. From contemplating various traditions and paths, one thing is clear - While it may sound good to hear one speak of attaining enlightenment while being a householder etc. practically speaking, for enlightenment to blossom, I do not see a better path than sanyasa. Even to become a doctor, it takes years of full-time dedicated effort.
