The Bible isn't about physical realities, it's about spirutal realities. It is therefore most likely to be misrepresented by both its defenders and critics. But if God is real, He doesn't need a book to prove Himself, so that's where you need to direct your questions. Give it a try? Take your time waiting for the answer, no need to hurry.

If God really exists I think you are entirely correct about the Bible.

There are however hordes of Christians that think every single word is the holy word of God...

"Christians" have been duped into defending an untenable "literal" interpretation while Jesus openly used parables to convey spiritual realities, so the line between them can be hard to discern. A metaphor is an acceptable way of conveying a real message. That Jesus himself was a physically real person seems fairly certain, but what's important is where He is now. Without a real experience, the Bible remains only a book of tales, but there are people who know that there's more to it than that.

Please: Try not to think that all men are supporters of ignorance - which is sort of how you sound. Some of us are simply human beings who seek the common goal of respect and love for all, regardless of all of the 'othering' potentials that the fearful might seek to turn us to.
