i recommend that you at least learn how to read basic notes. it helps you in many ways, even when you are talking to your friends that talk about music all the time. notes will definitely come up. There are some short tutorials on youtube that teach you how to read notes.

but if i have the time, i might do a short tutorial on this video because some other people have been asking as well.

yea i got a book that teaches piano. Just reading through it doesnt help much. I just need to get my hands on a good electric keyboard for now

I can teach you all of the white keys on the piano instantly lol. Start from the very left white key on the piano.  That is A. Then the next white key is B, then C, and so on. HOWEVER. It only goes up to G. So A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Get it?

Yea I understand those basics like the sharps and flats also. Its just when It comes to the major scales I get kinda confused.... also I just search the YPG-635. They have it priced at 699 lol. As of now im using an old organ and its not really giving me a piano feel. Thats why im looking for a good keyboard

@tobishen nowadays piano keyboards are close enough to the sound of a real piano. not as good, but quite decent if you ask me. If you know about major scales and stuff, i think you know enough already. just learn how to improvise using chords. ;)

I've had a couple of songs like that too. I just didn't think i was ready to put it up on youtube, then all of a sudden I find a better song, then play that one, and forget the first song. i don't know if you get that or not. lol...

i can't like make myself play a song because of the way i pick songs to play. like if i here a song that i like i'll be like, man i'm so playing that on piano. but if i'm not into the song at the moment, it just doesn't come out good. i think my kingdom hearts time is gone for now. currently i'm in the disney mood, so you'll be hearing more disney for a while, but someday i might be back into kingdom hearts again sometime.

man....I've just started learning how to play (I'm 21), and I practice about 2-3 hours each day. Any helpful tips you'd be so kind to impart?

you should learn chords. it's hard for me to play the notes exactly the way they are in the sheet music. so i self-taught myself how to play chords.  after you learn chords it takes you about half an hour to learn songs. however, if you want to learn the song the way it is on sheet music, then practice makes perfect. there is no secret. i have learned songs just like the sheet music before and if i remember correctly, it would take me about a month.

Hikari is the name of the song. You got confused with Hikaru, the artist, methinks. :)
