  • saw him live at Dollywood about 5 yrs ago...AMAZING!!!

  • Mountains are in Florida? Uh, no. And Gar only has one "r"! But I did like the video and the song definitely put it over the top

  • GAR is spelled with just one R dude....It is a native fish which we have down here in the Glades....

We also have a few fish from Africa and South America which don't belong here......

Sierra Cuban, Tree Hugger of the Everglades......Miami, La Florida, Estados Unidos de América

  • this song reminds me of good times gone by

  • Thank you, this has been added to our playlists here and on face book.com

  • Most Cherokee were located in N Carolina. The Siminoles were in Fla,

Do goggle "Trail of Tears" it's such a part of our history that everyone

should know. The indians were forced from many places but some didn't

leave and hid out in the woods. In Fla their are a few Indian Reservations

one on Aligator Alley & one in Hollywood. So the indians still exist there

and have their own laws & court system. They have gambling too which

brings in the tourists it's interesting..*Country Girl*

  • man brings me back, i was Born and raised in the everglades, i was literally raised at holiday park, every time you hop in a air boat in the glades you can literally feel the history and really feel the seminole wind and become one with it. from the gators to the gar to the moccasins

  • Theres a lot people that wish that bitch never blew at all!!!

  • Beautiful song, it touches me deep inside...I had the cassette back in the day (it was purple!)

I absolutely love the piano in the intro and the ending.

  • this song makes me want to learn to play a fiddle!!!

  • gotta be honest, dont really care about the words, but i LOVE that music!!!!

  • Song good but disappointed no vid of the glads

  • This is country music. Not stupid fucking "Red Solo Cup" or any bullshit by Brad Paisley. Savor this song everyone, because country music is dead.

  • @EmCeeSTD hey i know what you mean, i turn on the radio and hear nothin but crap. but i have to disagree, i like brad paisley and of the contemporary musicians is probly the closest to having talent and integrity. and he shreds on the guitar!!

  • @EmCeeSTD you are so right it makes me sick thinking about it

  • MY FAVORITE EVER SINCE I FIRST HEARD IT..... THANKS JOHN ANDERSON....

  • yeah.. this a great song, ruined by pictures of mountains???? have u ever been to FL?? I grew up swimming in that black water...

  • It doesn't matter were the pictures came from, they just show what a beautiful and majestic land we have here. I live in Florida and it don't matter. This song simbolizes what we have gained and lost. Thank our Forefathers and Native Americans for what we have. God Bless America, the greatest country that has ever been and ever will be on this beautiful planet!

  • @nofxrocker1290 it is of the mind set that is tried to be instilled upon you my friend.the song is desgined to help you "clear your head" ,clear you mind and set yourself upon a higher level of a more positive nature (when your in hard times ) free your thinking of all that ales you and try to find inner peace with in your self it is not as easy as i write this but if your willing to try the sprit will listen and aid you through your rough time

  • @nofxrocker1290 that...... thats a very good point it should be swamps!

  • @nofxrocker1290 The Cherokee were not originally confined to Florida ... google "Trail of Tears."

  • take a good look at how florida used to look. before walt disney and his bulldozers leveled it off. proud people of florida was forced to deal w/ rhe horse shit of walt disney and hollywood.

  • WHOOP WHOOP okeechobee where im from an raised

  • do save the everglades! even if a lot of those pictures remind me of Idaho. such beutiful music though.

  • These pics are all from like colorado florida is flat....

  • wooooooooooooooooh okeechobee

  • I spent the first ten years of my life in Jacksonville, god i miss it

  • I'm sorry but the pictures are NOT of Florida. I live in Florida, born and being raised and I know Florida does not have mountains. Please choose better pictures next time. Thank you though for uploading the song.

  • You need to show some pictures from us seminole's homeland! I love this song!

  • AHHHH Florida looks nothing like those pics , and the Seminole Indians were from Florida

  • I'm with that guy beneath me, the first 35 seconds had no pictures of floridian terrain. FAIL.

  • Some of these pictures are of completely opposite terrains then the everglades.......not even close....very bad..very bad indeed!

  • John has a great voice and is not hard on the eyes lol.

  • amazing song but why all moutains its about south florida

  • There's an awful lot of pictures of mountains in this video... its nice and everything, but this song is about the Everglades. In Florida. Which is flat as a sidewalk.

  • why are there pictures of places that arent in florida, if the song is about florida lol (:

  • My dad plays this song on guitar (:

  • why dont you make this song available for mobile?

  • Damn Gar, always fouling my fish'n line.

  • I have to agree with yall this is one of my favrites great song

  • from

  • It is interesting that the images are of mountains and the Seminoles lived in the swamps of Florida and Georgia. the song is awesome!

  • tHEY DON'T MAKE TRUE COUNTRY MUCH ANYMORE,SAD

  • @2005pappa i agree with you this new country is more like country crap...well a lot of them...they need to go back to the old ways of true country music

  • Love it-creates a western image.

  • This song rocks

  • Woops! I misspelled Cheyenne

  • First heard this song while on I-25 going up to Cheyanne from Denver. A great driving song. I love it!

  • Some pics of the everglades would have been more appropriate

  • I believe it was in the early 70s when the gov't tried to dry up the everglades to move in businesses. They had dug miles of trenches to drain it. When they almost complete the project a hurricane came and refilled the swamp with water. Osceloa's ghost? I love this song!

  • @Deimoshunter agnus in '72?

  • @deathbybmx Not sure. Could be the one.

  • John anderson seminole wind..... white pride!

  • Who originally did this song? Who wrote it? Anyone know?

  • Great song. Beautiful pictures. But not one of them taken in Florida.

  • My dad sang this song all the time when he had his band, but now it's just a memory of his voice. RIP Billy Clark.

  • Great song but why pictures of the Southwest when the song is all about Florida??

  • Love this song, have since I was a child and would listen to it with my parents. Love this video because a lot of these pictures look exactly like the area around my home town, Durango CO... • Funny how none of this pics are of the everglades.....PRESERVE THE EVERGLADES

  • @rattattat100 How is that funny? And why?

  • @superchef78 wasnt laughing..was saying that in the slideshow, there are no pictures of the everglades. There are no mountains in Florida.

  • nativejit,

Micanopy and Okeechobee are both in Florida. The Seminoles mainly resided in Florida, few in southern Georgia, but never as far as Oklahoma.

I'm from Lake City, Florida, and this song describes it so well. I love Florida and I LOVE this song =)

  • <3

  • Great!

  • Proud to have the same name as this legend.

  • wow..... the united states is no longer the United states! :(

its sad if you think about it!

every hills,Mountains,Valleys etc that we have are slowly leaving because we keep building and building on the land for house, stores etc!

we can thank the U.S. for letting people keep coming over here from Mexico etc.

    times are moving quickly!

  • this might have been your land but we killed you fair and square

  • @alphalph123 jackass

  • There are no mountains or Buttes in FLORIDA!

  • Ok so where do mountains come into play with the florida seminoles?

  • @hidrat i know there aint 1 pic of a swamp

  • @hidrat well he did say seminoles but not florida...I guess the seminoles werent just in florida but i know what you mean....

  • @CMink7777 the seminoles were in Florida and Oklahoma, thats why he says from okeechobee to micanopy

  • @nativejit nope, micanopy is a small town in north/central Florida. Seminoles were a Florida tribe..defined by where they were, rather then bloodlines. The tribe was a mix of several different tribes, runaway slaves and some outcast whites.

  • This is a great Indian/ American type song! It tells alot of History, and Humanity!

  • i heard this song by my dad because he has it as his ringtune

  • loved this song since i was a little boy over 15 years ago

  • im only 13 and i love this song

  • Another blast from my childhood! Wonderful song, back when Country was country.

  • One of my favorite country songs since i was younger.

  • from the forest to the swamp:)

  • Thumbs up if John Anderson is better at singing than Justin Beiber .

  • @sw33tns0urnutz Justin beiber dont deserve to be in the same sentence as John Anderson

  • @crb2011 quess what!.... you JUST made it happen, DOUCHE BAG!

  • @crb2011 Jon Anderson is better than Justin Bieber.

  • @crb2011 you idiot you just put them both in a sentence better to use "it" when refering to jb

  • @rockonbro1 Fuck you i was making a point smart ass mother fucker.

  • @sw33tns0urnutz hah ..... justin is just pička !

  • @sw33tns0urnutz I'm better than justin beiber and I suck big time. I mean I realy suck, i couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

  • like a big ol floppy penis i must say i love it!!!

  • the botts are bbuissy!!

  • This is one of John Anderson's greatest songs, but who ever encoded the video really sucks in the audio mastering department because they only recorded one side of the stereo spectrum and missed the violens and steel part on the other side of the stereo spectrum and essentually tries to pass this off as a mono encoded sound video when it's actually missing the other side.

  • Great Song and great pictures of some of the most beautiful country I ever seen

  • I FOUND IT !!!

  • It's unreal how people grow up listening to rap, lady gaga, justin bieber, katy perry, and if you play this song in the car, they are either laughing out loud or in their head!?! EVERYONE should know the lyrics to this song and sing it a-loud in the car.

  • I miss the red earth ... I see some of you want to debate American history on here.... I just miss the rose rocks of my folks home...it was along the trails of tears and my family's property produced rose rocks... so much history in the land itself, you can almost hear the tales on the breeze....

  • why didn't you include any pics of Florida?

  • @carn333 It is not the uploader's obligation to include content in relation to the respective song/track. That is a very odd expectation.

  • @superchef78 hey,it's a fine vid..I like it.Just wanted to know why you didn't include a few pics of the seminole river and it's path through Florida...since that is what the song is about.Just wondered why you didn't, nothing negative was meant.

  • @carn333 "Just wondered why you didn't" -- It's not my video though. If you are truly so concerned about stuff like that that you feel obliged to write publicly about something, then you might be
