big rock on my opinion is one of the best spots in Sd for surfing and bodyboarding yesterday it was a clean 8 foot+ with 10 guys out anything else that could get better is that no one was out but me lol
The biggest I went out at Big Rock was two feet overhead, and just wasn't comfortable with it. The take off zone is very tight as is the crowd. Unlike most waves, if you blow the takeoff (and I blew a few) you're bound to run into someone. So unlike almost every other wave down there, I prefer just to watch it and see the people who've earned their spot get pitted. : )
Nice vid. Honestly, in the 7 years I lived in SD, I surfed about every wave there is in La Jolla, and save two (one name having to do with a whale and the other a horse), Big Rock is VERY hard to surf. I grew up in PV and know better than to get in the local's way.
paulo I have been burned really hard by a few brazilians in my time, im usually not that hostile but when some one injures me with there stupidity in the water it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially when they wont take responsibility for there actions. get it? Its ok if they put themselves in stupid positions where they could get hurt but when you burn me and cause an injury on my body, that is so not cool. peace.
true, true... keep it cool bro! no need for aggression and racism, all san diego's point breaks are crowded anyways, I truely hope you don't bring your attitude with you outside the US. Localism is a stupid and dumb thing and the ocean is for everyone. Peace.

But when there are crowds, there is always a natural pecking order in the water based on ability. So I don't think you'll ever get away from it around LA, Sydney etc. Probably best to keep the fights in the water - don't bring it on land. No chicken shit vandalism or gang ups. Duke it out with honour - fights in the water are OK. Admit it, they're fun to watch.

Big rock is the best tube riding spot in San Diego, its a slab if you ever saw one, but it is so consistent! It always wants to get you barreled.
