Now there are quite a few slums in Mumbai which are bigger than Dharavi now. These are 1)Nehru Nagar, 2) Kurla-Ghatkopar belt 3) Mankhurd-Gorandhi belt 4) Yogi and Yeor hill slopes. No wonder 78% population of Mumbai lives in slums.
The total area of Karachi is much larger than Mumbai. Karachi is spread over an area of 3,530 sq.km, where as Mumbai had an area of 603 sq.km.( Check wikipedia or any other reliable source). This is the reason Mumbai looks so congested with population bulging at its seams. Karachi is nicely spread out and looks more well planned
