Hey heres an idea go back to your x box , guitar hero and watching wrestling till you can talk.Your language and rants just show what an ignorant fuck you are about anything let alone hockey.
When Kassian initiated the hit, Kennedy did have the puck. It still wasn't a clean hit, but to say that Kennedy was unsuspecting and didn't have the puck is ignorant. Maybe he should keep his fucking head up. Anytime you're skating through center ice with your head down, you should be expecting a hit, and taking that away would castrate hockey.
a totally dirty hit. with that being said that was probably the toughest thing ive ever seen on the ice. right after he hits the guy he turns around and drops his gloves like yeah i know i fucked him up now come and get it. a totall badass move for a guy who might bar fight his way out of the NHL. i heard he might not be alowed in the states. jeezz
@madeinedmundston hahaha...what are you talking about? Speak proper english! Someone needs a life if they take youtube comments personally and feel the need to report them. You fail!
some of the sheer ignorance and retardation displayed in a lot of these comments makes me worry for the sake of humankind.
"laughoholic" - you have me laughing alright...let the boys play? Kennedy was near retirement after that hit, and for what? Kassian's unsportsmanlike display running around the ice like a pea brained animal after his little baby Ellis took a clean check in the corner? yea...let em play...
@danthrax182 Kennedy was back the game after the suspension was handed down to Kassian (which was exactly 2 weeks). Sorry but if someone supposedly suffered their 6th concussion and daddy goes all over the news flapping his lips about how his kids career is over, and the player is back after only 2 weeks?!?!?! Something's fishy! Kennedy is a FAKER and the Barrie Colts is a classless organization. That 20 game suspension was a joke... the hit was only worth 5.
Puck was in the area. What wasnt cool was how he left his feet. If he didnt leave his feet we wouldnt have an issue. Or we probably still would with that creampuff Branch running the league. Cant wait to see Kassian in Buffalo. An element those midgets have been sorely lacking for years.
he didnt leave his feet till after he made contact with him. kassian just has a tendancy to explode through his checks, deffinatly shouldnt have been suspended for 20 games.
And the Windsor fans give Kassian a standing ovation! Totally clean hit. Now THAT'S REAL HOCKEY!!! God Bless Kassian. See you on the Sabres. Fuck all the whiners.
its not a legal hit if the player is never in possession of the puck, and hes definately not in possession when the opposing team deflects it in the air over his head and he gets cheap shotted.
as for the fight itself, give Stanisz credit, he fought a guy larger than himself (Stanisz 6'1 196lbs - Kassian 6'3 210lbs) in an attempt to avenge the dirty hit on his new teammate.
Anyway, for anyone who doesn't already know, Kassian was suspended for 20 games.
As for what's wrong with this hit;
Kennedy never had possesion of the puck, and it was well over his head when Kassian hit him (also like to point out to people who said he had his head down, he did not, it was in fact up)
also, kennedy suffered a cut on his cheek from the hit (meaning kassian did catch part of his head)
aftermath - Kennedy received 3 stitches on his cheek and 3 staples in the back of his head
Cant wait to see him with Kaleta driving teams bat shitt.Come on that warrents a suspension ?Campbells hit was more viscious.Hopefully this kids as smart and has some skill like Kaleta.
he didnt even leave his feet until the followed throw when he made contact he was on the ground its kennedy's own fault for skating p the ice with his head down
head up looking for a loose puck in the air, moron. not sure if you understand the rules of the game, but in order to legally lay a hit on a player he is supposed to be in control of the puck. D I R T Y , typical Kassian
TOTALLY CLEAN HIT. Now that's REAL HOCKEY!! Keep your head up or you're wiped out.
Besides... what a SLIME.. what a PIECE OF GARBAGE Kennedy is anyways. Then he promptly DESTROYS that pathetic wimp Stanisz! God bless Kassian!! See you on the Sabres!!
Yeah that is a dirty hit. i want to say it wasn't i think kassian is exactly what the spits need... but if you look at 1:36 you will notice that his feet are off the ground before contact. i didn't think they were when i saw it from the glass but now after video review it definitely was dirty. DESPITE being dirty i still enjoyed the hit and am sad to see he is suspended
thats not the reason why the sabres missed the playoffs... if u new a thing about hockey and the sabres u new they missed it because they had little offense, lalime was terrible and the sabres were inconsistent. not only because miller got hurt
All I can come up with is charging from this video.. I can't tell if he hit his chest or head from this.. but the hit itself was legal in position and in relation to where the puck is and he actually looks like he launches himself in the air when he hits him. Other than the fact that he took a running start at him (possibly charging) and if he actually hit his head (which I don't think he did.. his helmet came off when hitting the ice)
stop video @ :008-:009. He is in contact with Kennedy and feet on the ice. Absolutely no way did his feet leave the ice before the hit. You can't even argue it, video shows it !! And yes he was looking up at the puck when Kennedy slowed down for the puck.
This was a great hit. Yeah you can make an argument that he didn't have the puck. A split second earlier it was checked from Kennedy's stick. Hockey is a violent sport. If you look at old Scott Steven hits I think those were far worse.
I agree...screw the political correctness. Kassian has some balls and backs his play up with tenacity. I love it.
Hopefully, the league gives a fair suspension. It should be a pretty lengthy one, yet I hope they do not make him sit the rest of the season. These guys are still young and developing and sitting the rest of the season could really hurt Kassian's career which wouldn't be fair.
Hopefully, he learns a lesson and can come back for what I'm sure will be a deep playoff run for Windsor.
I am a fan of hard hitting hockey, but this is absolutely a dirty hit. This is a head shot with a lot of speed on an unsuspecting player that didn't even have the puck. Furthermore, there is no reason for a big guy like Kassian to be leaving his feet on a hit. To the people who are sticking up for this hit just remember that hitting a guy without the puck is a penalty under any circumstance.
@adrenalynpool he didn't leave his feet until after he made contact with Kennedy. But, he did hit him when he didn't have the puck, so I agree with you on that. If you look closely, he didn't leave his feet.
watched this over and over. Maybe I am being naive here but it was not an intentional hit. Kassian was looking at the puck and Kennedy slowed down and stopped right in Kassians line. Not intentional at all.
Dirty, gutless hit on a defenseless player. I'm a big fan of a thundering hit within the rules of the game, but there's no place for a cheap shot like that in hockey. I hope he gets 15 games.
I am Spitfire fan and season ticket holder and i don't like that kind hockey play a fair game don't try to injure good hockey players theres a way to get rid of those players ban him form the league if you can use your brain you will never make it in the NHL.
Kassian was just doing his job, Kennedy drilled Ellis earlier in the shift and Kassian was administering the punishment. This is the OHL Kennedy should have known it was coming. With the talent Windsor has they need Kassian in their line up to protect their investments.
Fuck remorse. fuck respect. hit the enemy as hard as you can. this isn't houseleague. this is the stepping stone to the big dance. piss on the political correctness and piss on this modern retard way of thinking and over anayzing every bodycheck that sends a guy flying. it was an excellent HIT. Well done, Kassian. and i don't even like Windsor as a team.
somebody help me out here. I thought the CHL implemented a new rule last year that says if the helmets come off, the linesman must come in. Every (Eastern Conference) game I've attended they jump in as soon as a helmet pops off. Are the rules different in the Western Conference?? That wouldn't make sense. Anybody know why the linesman didn't in jump here. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they let it go on, I'm just wondering why every fight I've seen in the last year has been annoyingly stopped.
So f-ing glad Kassian is out of Peterborough. Every night the "C" on his shirt stood for something else; Can't skate, Can't score, Can't speak, Can't help my team. (That's not an exact quote, I left out a few duh's).
sensing some envy.....pretty sure people who can't skate and can't score don't get drafted 13th overall...and guess what it's an all-star game, you are there to showcase your skills, Tavares was there so show his offence and Kassian was there to show his physical play simple as that
