My corgis approve. I suppose I do too, although I am not Welsh, I just have blood from every other Celtic nation on earth, and I have the red hair and freckles to prove it. I don't know how my ancestors missed Wales.
The Welsh and Scottish will never be Saxons or Britons they will always be Celts and that's the way it should be (this anthem makes me cry for all the heroic men and women who tried so hard to free all Celts in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Ulster(Northern Ireland) and Cornwall.) Also I'm proud Celt (Scotland on my mother's side and Irish on my Father's Side )
@kontrahylian : Funny enough DNA has now proved that most of low land Scotland is more English than English these days and are Angles,Saxons and Scandinavians mostly like England mixed with the original inhabitants and the late er celts The north west are celts and higher up a mix of celt/pict. over 40% of the Welsh now have Germanic genes and the other is celt and outside Europe DNA modern mass immigration! So nobody is pure virtually of any one heritage! In fact Saxon anything has vanished!
@Rogerbradly its to do with the founding population effect.......founding population was "pre celtic" and has been found to be very resistant to invasions of genes......its the culture that is most changed.....also the scots dialect is a purer english comparedto the far more frenchified (not very proper word i kno ;) ) dialects of south
Hi. I wonder does anyone know where can I get the musical of to the old programme 'Road To Wembley', where an instumental big band piece showcasing glorious wembley and the cup-ties. The last time I seen and heard was maybe 20 yeasr ago. Then it was bobby moore as the presenter. The tune is still fresh and audible in my heart. It's amazing tune and composition.
@Impignorate yeah it is ha - but i just call it the welsh national anthem. whats that song called that goes 'and we were singing - something something - land of my father' ??
Being from Brittany, my grand mother was always singing this hymn in our mother language, Bro Gozh Ma Zadoù, when Welsh were playing against the Franchies in the Rugby 5 nations tournament.. I didn't understood well since in school they were teatching us about french history, french language.. but now I know more about our common roots
@spiritdawound You were separated from your brethren when the relatively barbaric Anglo Saxons invaded and being Romano-Celts and softened up by a civilized life style like the rest of us, your ancestors crossed the sea from Corwall and Devon to Bretagne. So we are brothers. Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau means in English Land of My Fathers and in French Terre de nos Aieux.
We did a little research on this, and apart from being very good musically, it also has historical significance. We should be able to have something ready within a couple of weeks. Thanks for the suggestion!
For our friends in Wales. You can download the mp3 for free from our website (the audio's higher quality and it doesn't have the intro)
NOTE: A few people have asked why we're recording national anthems. They actually are hymns by definition, which is why every country's national anthem is included in the hymn books printed in that country.
i amso proud to be welsh <3 like if you are as well

Very nice, but you cannot omit the words. It's the words that make the anthem even if most do not understand them!!

If you've done the Welsh anthem, then why not do the anthems of Scotland and Northern Ireland as well?
