Police for the most part are not Preventative measures. Police usually arrive AFTER a crime has been committed. In fact its very rare for officers to prevent crime, because if that rationale was true, crime would dramatically decrease if more officers exist. We know that isn't true. Change it or reinforce it? Just so you know, I did visit a police station not too long ago, to get myself fingerprinted for a background check. The people behind the counter were INCREDIBLY RUDE and in fact I had to go visit 3 police stations, and by the end of the trip, I ended up going to a private business to get my fingerprint card filled out. All I encountered were extremely RUDE, unhelpful members. And I was just a citizen, not a convict. Can't even imagine what the crooks deal with.

Its a surge drill. Basically its practice incase of another 9/11. It helps the police get there sooner and start setting up blocades in the even that it happens again. Fire departments and paramedics do the same sort of stuff. I just hope they never have to put it into action!

i just got back from NY and one night in time sqaure the NYPD got about 30 patrol cars, parked them on the side of the rode and all turned their flashing lights on....that was mad. ive got a video of it and ill put it on here soon

In New York City they do drills to see how fast they can get a number of police cars from one point to another. Thats probably what there doing. It has something to do with anti terrorism.

It's not deniable that SOME police officers abuse their power, but to insinuate that ALL of them do is very closed-minded.

They are called "surge drills". Basically, they plan ahead an area, and have a ton of cars just swarm into the area. Just a show of force type of deal, to show how (the terrorists) many cops they can have in one area in just a few minutes.
