@MirraSyren When I said said that Hazel O' Conner, The 80's version of Lady GaGa I ment that she pushed boundries by making her own unique style acceptable wether it be her dress sense or their musical style. They are both so different from ther musical peers and in being so pushed the musical boundries of acceptibility further. I love Hazel O'Connor and I think she was one of the best musiclal artists of all time. Her talent is amazing and we are all the more better off for her.
You can find "breaking glass" on "the pirate bay" but the only copy on there has a annoying "formatted disc" message that keeps on flashing on screen every few seconds throughout the film still worth it though its a ace film VERY ahead of its time when you look at all the x-factor 1 minute your a star next minute your nobody pop business of these days.
I saw Hazel live last night....she still rocks. As others have said she is a very under rated artist. She has a unique voice and a unique talent. The film Breaking Glass is very hard to get hold of, as it was only released on VHS...it was pre DVD days. It is now available on DVD, but it took me ten years to get hold of it
The Breaking Glass film is one of my favs, and the soundtrack is THE best ever! Many of the tracks stand so true, even today.Timeless.Looking forward to seeing her later this year
If anyone watching this has,nt yet seen "breaking glass" you should hunt it out its a fantastic film and really relevant still to the day you can find loads of comparrisons to how hazel o conner was treated by the record labels and exploited so much she broke down. You only have to look at shows like "x factor" to realise it is still happening.
fab tune , along with all the others on here ...................... film followed her life , but she ok now lol.. great music tho ...will you always be be fave ......gravyard tune is that
thesacredyew I totally did the same thing as a kid. The message of the film holds a prolific message for today as it did then...Hazel O'Connor & the film were WAY ahead of it's time!!!! Hazel IS one of the most under rated artists of our time!!!!!!
I see what you mean, however Madonna is not comparable with Hazel, at least that is my opinion since this Hazel still seem to have believes and express them with truth while Madonna has gone lost in life.
I remember hearing this when I was still a child, I used to dance around my bedroom to the Braking Glass sound track. It's still mind blowing, Hazel O'Connor is maybe one of the most under rated artists of out time. She should be up there with Madonna!
How cool is this. I remember this performance very well. It is from the show Musikladen. I was 9 years old and it blew me away. I gave my 16 year old brother money the other day to buy me the single from town. It was the first real record i called my own after some kids records. now i have a few thousands, but this is where it started. I still have the record. The song did not loose any of it's freshness. Brilliant piece of music.

I spent my birthday with Hazel in a strange vegetarian eaterie in Soho, London in 1986.
I was interviewing her for a magazine. She was lovely, absolutely charming. She wrote some great songs, too.
