  • This worked ship-sharp for the soap dispenser after I was on search for the problem and a quick link to this video saved the day. Thanks for an effort on your wiz! It worked on an instant. My linguini clam sauce dinner thrown up on carpet floor is clean. Lol!

  • my problem was with the red gasket on the formula tank. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!!! lol

  • unfortunately for me i had to completely open mine and take apart the water heater and remove all the calcium blocking the water lines.. fortunately it worked amazingly.. i possibly could have tried CLR in it.. might have been easier as its suppose to break calcium and lime and whatever else.. thank you for posting this!

  • its sad that these machines are 200-400 dollars and they have so many problems. i have one it is a very powerful machine but if you don't use bissell soap you get a boat load of foam in the tank that will eventually leak out without empty!

  • Thank you so much for this video. My Bissell quit working 3 months ago and I was prepared to send it to a repairman. After watching your video I checked the washers and sure enough the washer to the solution compartment had slipped down into female chamber. I removed the washer and placed back onto male end. WORKS LIKE DAY FIRST PURCHASE, TY.

  • It was a great help and we appreciate the video, however my wife took apart the bottom with a spring inside and I was hoping you would of filmed the bottom part of the tank by taking it off and reassembling it, cant figure out where the spring goes thanks a lot.

  • I was also having problems with water dispensing from the hose but not the floor. Take off the reservoir and compress the tabs on the white nozzles. Cleaned them with a brush and problem resolved.

  • Oh my gosh! I have been so frustrated with my Bissell! I have been trying everything to get it to work correctly, but nothing was working. Although the answer in your video wasn't exactly what was wrong with mine, it pointed me in the right direction.... my problem was with the red gasket on the formula tank. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!!!

  • 2:18 you you said nipple XD. Sorry, sorry go on.

  • my bissell model 8920 it will release shampo. It does not release water.I CHECKED the red gasget is still in the proper place.we love our bissell please help.Renae in Iowa

  • oh wow thanks your a big saver on this i was having problems with both of my bissels but i love them because i feel a bit better having them to decently clean my carpets even though i think carpets are nasty but thanks again

  • Your issue was my mine except with the solution dispenser. Thank you for the fix after several frustrating hours of I am so happy I came across your video. THANK YOU

  • Thanks for the tip! For me, water was coming out, but no solution. Had this same issue with the gasket on the solution tank. however, it seems that the formula just leaked out, presumably into the water bladder. I used the hand tools, sprayed a little and took my time suctioning... By the time I was done, all the fluid was drained. now I gotta see what the fix for that is.

  • Wow! This is a fantastic tip! My Bissell gets a lot of use and has been great-- but all of a sudden, we weren't getting any cleaning solution dispensed. It was the red gasket!

What's funny is that I remember thinking when I checked the solution tank "didn't it used to have some part that was red?" and never put two and two together.

  • Thanks dude, You just saved me a few hundred bucks in repairs.

    Much appreciated!

  • Mine doesn't dispense water at all anymore, used it twice in 3 years and it's a pile of crap. My gaskets are where they belong so the issue resides elsewhere.

Took it apart, cleaned everything, checked for mineral deposits still nothing. Call Bissell, they say send it in for repair at my cost since it's out of warranty. So, for $280.00 I got to use it twice in my foyer, would have been cheaper to hire somebody.

  • Thank you! Mine was the formula dispenser.

  • After an hour of frustration, i determined the problem with my unit was the formula dispenser. It didn;t move the little valve at all. I couldn;t figure out what was wrong because the red rubber valve sitting in the bottom of the unit seemed all springy and rubbery. DERP. One screwdriver and 10 seconds fixed it like a charm. Formula dispenses now that the rubber gasket is where it belongs. A tip of my cap, sir.

    THANKS...!

  • THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

  • AWESOME THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS IT HELPED ME~!

  • duhhhh, i guess i should watch entire video first. Ya, it was the gasket on the Formula Tank, didn't realize they were the same type. Fixed now, thanks man! great video. When i phone Bissel hotline they did not mention this they just wanted me to buy a new tank from them :(

  • can anyone tell me why my Formula Tank will not "click" in anymore. i just sits above it it will not go in. i've tried everything. only used this thing twice, and is now 1 month over waranty.

  • Thanks for the vid. You just saved me a trip to repair store and/or picking up another Bissell cleaner. Thank you, Sir.

  • Any suggestions on how to get the heater to work again. I have used it twice and it worked fine the last time I used it. Unfortunately the warranty has expired

  • Please help I tried doing the red thing you just did and its still not releasing water. Anyone help me

  • YES! Mine has had this problem since brand new, and when I don't use it a few months, I am not sure how to fix it again! I came back to your video today. This little engineering mess makes me SO mad. You are right, they are too expensive to have to be fiddling with these gaskets every time. Today, it worked through 1/2 the kitchen, and quit. And, mine is both places: water res, and formula tank, too! Thank you!

  • Same here. It worked on the formula tank perfectly. Thank you!!

  • AWESOME !!! works like it was new again. Such a great help...

  • Excellent video. Very helpful. Many thanks!

  • Thank you, that seemed to work for me. However, I might add that my problem was with that rubber gasket that is on the soap dispenser bottle. Same solution, just different gasket.......... It has been working just fine.......................so far!

  • I've tried this technique and it worked temporarily, but I have to constanctly remove the holding tank and replace it to get the water flowing again. Seems kind of ridiculous for a convenience device such as this to be so tempramental. This carpet cleaner is the worst piece of crap, I've ever spent money on. I'm vowing never to buy Bissell products ever again because of this incident.

  • u da man

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • how about a vacuum problem... not getting any suction.

  • After spending a few frustrating hours today, we discovered that our problem was the exact same thing, EXCEPT it was that red gasget on the cleaner container. THEN, I watched this video...should have done first! This, also was after a lengthy time of storage...6 months or so. Good job on the video. Thanks.

  • Bissell spray problem

  • Problem having spray work. Have replaced pump and solenoid to no avail. Do not have the problem with the gaskets as the video shows. Tried cleaning the heater element which was largely clean. No spray. Checking between switch in handle wand body found a bread board with components. I wonder,,,

  • the dirty water goes on the floor instead of in the reservoir. How do I fix that?

  • Haven't had a problem with product dispensing, but overall poor suction and the plastic keeps breaking on the latch. Seems they forgot that it has to hold a heavy water bladder.

  • I have this exact same machine and so far I haven't had this problem, I will keep this in mind if this happens. Thank you very much :-D

  • Thank you. I hope that is the problem with mine.
