  • Wicked!

  • this is way better than the album version maybe they play it like this live awesome!!

  • This version is far superior to the album one. Both versions are great, but the raw quality of this makes it amazing.

  • vou ver ao vivo!!!!!!!

  • Deff. I can't listen to the album version anymore

  • I think you could argue that Radiohead sometimes "over-refine" their songs. this version is better in my opinion than the album version, and also the song "lift"; the version of "lift" they did in Japan is so much better than later versions I've heard. I don't know if I should expect a hail of criticism for saying that, I just think they sometimes do too much to an already good song, and in the process bring it down a noch.

  • Yeah, Id say nude is another example. As much as I loved the album I was a little disapointed with Those two. You can't blame Radiohead for maybe getting a little tired of a certain version though, they play them so much

  • yeah i agree. they played jigsaw like this when i saw them in august. i found a new appreciation for the song, it was raw and much better than the album version. also, i never cared much for there there, until i heard it live. it FUCKING ROCKED. Radiohead is one of those bands that you fall in love with their albums, and then you worship them once you see them live. they're legendary :)

  • thats bc its now not called open pick its called jigsaw falling into place 9th track on in rainbows

  • it was called open pick in 2006 idiot...

  • hey does any1 no were u can buy this track. its not on itunes. help plz :)

  • If you haven't figured it out by now, this song is now called "Jigsaw Falling into Place" and can be purchased on iTunes. It's off of their latest album, "In Rainbows."

  • when they play this live with thom on the old rickenbacher it sounds soooo fucking badass. I LOVE Jonny's sonic youth shredding at the end too, I really hope they ditch the acoustic when they tour this summer for this track.q

  • :P I remember I was the ONLY person I knew who really really liked 'open pick'. ;) I had faith in the song way back then so I take every oportunity to rub that in to 'em lol

  • One of the best song from In Rainbows!!!

  • I love it when Jonny plays all over the song, madness. shame it gets reigned in for studio recording. he's going off in this version!

  • I'll drink to that!

This tune sounds heavy with 3 electrics, don't get me wrong I love the studio version, but this would rock any venue!

I hope they play it this way at VP in June

  • This used to be called open pick ha thats weird

  • well that was fucking excellent

  • apaperplateofcourse is right not many people

  • wish i was going

  • Wanted to go to this gig big time couldn`t get ticket`s as fuckin usual, got some for Manchester in june can`t fuckin wait best band on the planet!

  • what are people actually like at radiohead gigs, cause you cant exactly mosh.

  • sure you can mosh... but only to songs like my iron lung, just and 2+2=5...

  • I didn't realise you had to mosh to enjoy a gig. Maybe that's my problem. Maybe I have been wrong to stand there and just listen to the music. I have been living a lie. A dirty lie.

  • @sgtpinky i saw radiohead once for the hail to the theif tour and i just laid on the ground while everyone else stood and danced or whatever, but quite a few people asked my friends if i was ok, i just smikred and went back to enjoying and living the music.

  • urgh... who the hell wants to mosh anyway. I don't know about anyone else but when I saw them live I danced my arse off.

  • i like moshing amoungst girls, it gives you a good excuse to put your arms between as many pairs of breasts as possible

  • asshole.

  • lol wut?

  • no he said breasts

  • You do know you can go to a gig and not mosh.

  • Favourite song from In Rainbows

  • Bodynatchers and Jigsaw Falling into Place are the best songs!

  • couldn't agree more

  • Awesome ... LOve it!! Radiohead rock!!

  • this is just an amazing example of the best band of our time. what a performance

  • No, Mr Echoes,it doesn't even come close to "nigger..." :) Too bad the studio version also doesn't come close to this live-masterpiece. I don't know why they changed it so much, getting all the punch out of it. Any chance of finding a well-recorded version of this concert? Oh, and Arpeggi too :)

  • so much? dude lok at Reckoner, it's not even the same song... this is pretty much the same. Good thing about Radiohead is how liquid their sound is. The only real trick is catching them, thanks youtube.

  • Well you have to remember, Radiohead's songs have three phases, pre-release live version, then there's the album version, then post-album version.

I do admit that I like the live pre-release version better :P But it sounds very professional on the album, just like somebody mentioned, Radiohead have a really clean liquid sound. That's definitely thanks to Nigel Godrich, he's their producer for albums and such. He is like the sixth Radiohead member. Greatest band of our time.

  • Thanks guys, great replies. I only started listening to Radiohead 2 years ago, so this is my first NEW album. Even with the old ones I went through the "WTF is this"-to-"this is the bes.. no wait, this is the best, no wait..." phase. Right now, the best is Bodysnatchers, no wait.. Nude :)

  • sorry i didn't mean to give you tumbs down is was meant for the comment under yours

  • if he's the 6th then Stanley Donwood is the 7th lol

  • that is one of the most unintelligent things i've ever heard anyone say

  • Awesome fucking song. it MADE the b side to In Rainbows, and helped solidify the strong finish with Videotape.

  • hey i'm american...well, i was gonna say don't hate on us americans, but seriously fuck america, its hard to find ANYONE to listen to radiohead with me.

  • haha I'll listen ;)

  • ha thanks...finally SOMEBODY!

  • radiohead rocks so hard

    -----------

    You must be American.

  • :O that was a 100 out of 10 :D!!!

  • Really cool Jonny part near the end that isn't on the final :( still kicks ass

  • une de mes préférées sur "in rainbows"

  • great!!

  • omg amazing

  • all the radiohead fans have "in Rainbows" i think so!! im planning to get de discbox...yeahhh

    radiohead rocks so hard

  • THE best song in the new album. I can´t wait to see what they can do for the video. I almost can imagine it. I hope the song will have one.

  • I know what you mean. I get these wonderful images in my head when I hear this song. All of them bright and colorful.

  • farggggghhk i love this song the lyrics are fantastic

ive dominated this track the hardest from the new record thus far.

cant wait for my tidy little box set im the mail

  • One of the best song from In Rainbows!!!Fantastic!!!

  • it IS on the new album, its called JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE and its beautiful

  • i cant believe this wont be on the new album :'( its such an amazing song!!

  • so is this also know as Jigsaw Falling Into Place

  • God, this song followed by Videotape could be the best 1-2 punch album finale EVER!

    Just over 7 days now...

  • It IS followed by Videotape!!!!

  • Yeah, I... I don't think that was a coincidence.

  • i love the distribution method theyve gone with for this album, i only hope more bands start doing it to put an end to money grabbing record companies

  • IT IS ON IN RAINBOWS!!!! I TI THE SONG BEFORE VIDEOTAPE

i forget the name given and i am too tired to look it up again.

    this will be epic

  • I will die if this doesn't get made into an mp3 or something

  • it is gonna be an mp3! its on In Rainbows, they've just changed its name to Jigsaw Falling Into Place

  • yep, the lyrics are the same. good, when i first looked at the tracklist i was disappointed it wasnt there

  • This is just great.

  • everytime i'm more convinced that LP7 MUST start with this track.... i fu**in love it! ''you gotta light you can feel it on youur baack!''

  • if this isn't on the new album, i'm gonna be a sad panda...

  • It isn't on it. Nor on the second disc with extra songs. Shit.

  • Or scratch my own comment. I think they renamed it "Jigsaw falling into place." The ninth song on 'In Rainbows'. Just after House of Cards. And just before Videotape.

  • Yeah its jigsaw...

  • "i hope you realize that those clips that were posted are what's been CUT from the album.. they're outtakes."

You don't understand the mixing process. They've been cut from the mix, yes, but because they were either superfluous to the song or there were better takes. Noone knows which songs will or will not be on lp7.

  • does it ever get better than this? :0

  • you're right...Ed's vocals sound like one of the tracks of "F#A# Infinity" but i forget which one...Radiohead has slowly crept towards Godspeed You Black Emperor territory lately in terms of some chord selections...the less depressing, but more scary sounding chords.

  • This song doesn`t make sense to me live but iam sure it most definatly will on the album!! coming soon to music stores near you :)

  • intro's like mogwai or godspeed you black emperor or something

  • fair few traces of the band Kashmir in this song..

seems like a whole bunch of the new songs can be likened to something or other.. ie Can and mayb even Sigur Ros, ah well. all sounds good anyway

  • I swear what hits me first when I listen to this is the vocal style. Phonetically the vocals sound like Richard Ashcroft. Amazing song.

  • i love this song, and the other new radiohead songs

  • this song is amazing!!! its going to be on the new album?? cant wait till it comes out..!

  • After listening to this clip about 50 times (and still counting) I think this is their best song yet. It's the most angry/energetic/desperate piece of music I've ever heard. It's "A wolf at the door" in full rock glory. All hail the new Paranoid Android..

  • I loved the clips of this, and the best one was the one that was reversed. It's got some vocal stuff by Thom that he doesn't do live, and Ed's vocals (as great as they are) are now strings. I loved it.

  • The clips of this song that were posted are really dissapointing compared to this. The sound seems completely watered down, not live, fat, raw and full of energy like this is. Those end bars are unbelievably amazing with johnny's guitar. It will be a crime against humanity if they aren't there.

  • i hope you realize that those clips that were posted are what's been CUT from the album.. they're outtakes.

  • C'mon man don't scare us like that. Open pick, Down is the new up, Arpeggi all out of the new album? No way... make 2 albums then :)

  • i didn't say the whole songs were cut. those clips were cut from the final mixes.

  • hopefully the album doesnt sound like those cuts either. the vocals were way too crisp. we need some vintage distortion

  • Man there music grows on you its weird!!! this is my favorite song at the moment! there bloody teasing us!!

  • this song is sick

  • This is the most WONDERFUL SONG i've ever heard ! ! ! I can't wait for LP7!!!!!!

  • Have to agree with you. Its back to guitars and sounds amazing!!!

  • radiohead's next album has a lot of stuff at like 170bpm and the beats are breakbeat/dnb-esq. i think its amazing.

if you dont agree with me then i apologize.

  • OMFG, i can't wait for LP7.

  • Radiohead i bow down before your you.MAGICAL.

  • arpeggi/bodysnatchers

  • if you havnt already go to their website an check out the very and i mean very tiny sample of things to come..theres tiny snippets of arpeggi an down is the new up

  • This is there best song yet i love the bassline!!!

  • in no way does it sound like arpeggi, are you mad!?.... i hope it makes it on to the album

  • Similar beat to Arpeggi. I can see it. Good song though.

  • Does it not sound a bit similar in parts to Arpeggi though? Because if it's a choice between the two I'd rather Arpeggi

  • This sounds nothing like Arpgeggi!

  • now this is what I wanna see

    THE GUITARS ARE BACK

    WITH A VENGANCE!

LP7 Is going to be amaaaaaaaaazing!

    WOOOOOOO

  • Yay! This will be on the album. It's in the bits of mix which were posted on their site!

  • Just because it's been recorded doesn't mean it will definitly be on the album. Radiohead always has tons of B-sides, sometimes released with singles.

  • Good enough to be on there though

  • yeah, they've got tons of b-sides. i don't know why they don't bring out a collection on cd. some of them are easily as good as their a-sides

  • Absolutely. Radiohead's B-sides are better than most bands A-sides. Pearly? Permanent Daylight? Great songs.

  • com lag. airbag/how's my driving.

  • I think its similar of Arpeggi because of the drums... nearly the same rythm ( i said nearly, so dont fire up :p ), especially at the beginning, after i think its different.

  • Thom yorke said this "If Radiohead was the UN then I would be America"

  • im sure that jonny comes up with his songs too but from wat i understand thom comes up with the idea for the song and jonny fleshes the song out

  • yeah but come on...it is all of them. what would we do with out the other elements. Thom starts the songs, but the way radiohead interprets them is what makes them unique and great. on the other hand, i did love thom's solo album, but on a different level --almost like radiohead b-sides...

  • thom writes 80% of readiohead songs so he does deserve his credit.but johnny add thes atmospheric element that makes radiohead radiohead and the other members are equally important.radiohead as a whole is just AMAZING.

  • i think jonny wrote 80 % of kid a. just listen to bodysong!

  • nah, Kid A was Thom's idea. the rest of the band initially were in shock. Jonny wrote all the strings/orchestral parts though, and the jazz section as well, i think.

  • well, and the synths, and Ondes Martenot, of course (can't go anywhere without Ondes now, can we)

  • thom looks good with a beard

jonny is pretty much the musical brain trust

radiohead is driving me up the walls

release the album already I'm starving.

  • Jonny is the real genius, he just keeps quieter about it

  • i know the band is more than just thom. i know that a lot of the others have written some of their classic songs. but thom is the front man, and as such people will always think of him first

  • That is so good!

  • wuts up with people only talking about thom? The eraser is no-where near any album of RH... Thom's an important part of RH, but he alone is not RH, get over it dudes, its the band, not just thom...

  • well thom, if you do watch youtube, i just want to say thank you for this.

  • i know that thom watches youtube. i saw an interview with him saying he's seen videos that people have taken with their phones of new songs like this one. so hi thom, lose the beard and bring the album out now even if you haven't finished it yet.

  • i wouldn't wager all my clam shells on the fact that this is exactly how the new album will sound. when radiohead records, i get the feeling they tweak and contort it enough so that it doesn't sound exactly like how they tested it on the road.

  • probably won't end up on the album... it does kinda boogie-along like the band's arrangement of Arpeggi, but damn what a great song this is. Like dark, sad surf music. And how it builds up, jus absolutely gleeful. It'd be cool if they used Arpeggi as the album opener and this as the closer, or somethin like that, give the album some kind of cohesiveness. It's somethin they've been lacking since Kid A, imho

  • there's no way they'd go back to pablo honey, thom himself has disowned that album. every new song ive heard so far is great, sounds like they've cut down on the electronica but haven't REALLY gone back to a previous sound. this'll be the best album since Kid A, and that's saying a lot. thom for primeminister

  • i dont know why but i have a feeling that this wont be on the new album but itll be a b-side, but then again what the hell do i know

  • Hysterical and good. Yesh.

  • i cant put my finger on it, but it does remind me a lot of arpeggi

  • I love how some of these new songs have such a build up throughout.

  • lp7 is going to kill

    bring on the 'head baby

  • yeah,a bit too much in the same vein as arrpegi

  • how is that similar to arrpegi?

  • while I love the new material (this song is among my favourites), I hope that they maintain some level of what they had with Kid A. They're a great band, but I hope that they don't go back to The Bends, or even worse Pablo Honey. The Bends may be great, but I think that Kid A and Amnesiac are far better, and I personally like that style alot more.

  • come 2007!!! welcome radiohead!!! go go new disk!!

  • guitars are back!!!

  • I can't wait their new album!! if all songs will be as exellent as that one it's gonna be something really BIG

  • is there are torrent to download this gig?

  • This kinda sounds liek Arrpegi with distortion, i don't think this is that great of a song

  • you're right

  • Thom Yorke meets Billy Idol!

  • They're idiots if they don't put this song on the albums. Genius idiots. It's brilliant.

  • oh yeah, they REALLY look like they enjoy playing it too!

  • if open pick doesn't make it to the album... well, it'd be a travesty. this song is hit single material

  • excellent new song....thanks

  • classic queen...i mean Love it ;) it could be a hit on the charts one day

  • I attended this gig, and I must say this must be my fav new Radiohead song, I Can't beleive how close I was!!!!

  • WOW.

  • got to love the three gutairs....this version is amazing, the album version well...

  • um its not on an album yet...

  • Yeah I really didnt really finish my thought....my logic was three guitars...airbag...the album version will be amazing like airbag....you really didnt get that from what I said?

  • nope. sounded like you were saying "this version is amazing, the album version, well, not so much."

  • Sandgrown, you are terrific!!! This was such a great night!

  • awesome! thank you!

  • Thanks for this!

    Amazing!

  • Thanks for sharing! My fav new song by far!
