i dont understand..is the speedo broken..ive never seen anything accelerate that fast. i mean a ferrari, yeas, a high end merc, yes..but a v8 ranger...no. i dont believe it.
my mom followed me she said I drove fine, no cars were passing me either, I can see it being maybe around 5 mph off at the most, its a light truck with a v8, some performance has been added. If it was really off then It shouldnt scare everybody who ride/drives it.
35 to 65 back down to 35 then up to 65 it moves like the rpm gage i can under stand the begining because your slideing its like its off by 20 mph not even the 351 in the 93 lightnings moved that fast
Definately a misleading speedo. Still wicked sweet though. If You've got one or can borrow one, Use a Portable GPS and see what you're really doing. They're great for figuring out how over or under your speedo is. My Car is right on up until 120MPH and my truck on stock rims is like 3mph off after like 30 yet its dead on with the wrong size (bigger) wheels on it - which is weird. Its always good to know these things though.
something is telling me the speedometer is off, due to the fact this is a Ranger cluster, and both the engine and transmission are not stock for a Ranger, i am thinking the speed-o gear is the wrong one, thus you will get a off reading, ether it will state the truck is going to fast, or not fast enough to its actual speed, thus its hard to say if the previous owner put in a new speed-o gear, and something tells me he didn't, anyways i am sure its fast, small block Ford in a compact truck :)

I agree, im just saying man, its a pretty sweet ride. It may have its inperfections but doesnt all vehicles? All im saying is, its a sweet ride, its pretty quick, and its one of a kind. yeah its a hard decision, the only way i could keep it is if somebody bought a car for me, my mom will help buy me a new truck, but she cant just get one. In order to keep this thing I'll need a shed, and a really good paying job. I could try talking to some of my family maybe but no guarantees
think of this though, if i really miss it, i could buy a cheap POS ranger with a frame thats still good, redneck the floor if needed, find an old 302, add a little performance and some transmission, throw those in, add side pipes it and paint it cheaply, and BANG! My truck is suddenly back lol
Lol yea I was going to mention that actually, in the future you could possibly build a replica of it if you wish haha. Its a nice ride tho man, I thought about doing something similiar with a S-10 but time and money doesnt permit it, on top of having 3 project cars already lol.

Ford made a V8 Ranger back in the late 1960's and 1970's. the Ranger XLT was an option on the Ford F150 one of them was the winsor 302ci V8
