It was sad, another sad thing was how faith was involved. Priest said that in ''jesus name the cancer would be gone!'' This didn't happend. When he died no one got mad at 'god'which I think would be a natural reaction but the whole shit got twisted all around ''ah he's in heaven now!'' The whole thing just made no sense to me.

My mom recently finally got over breast cancer. After months of chemo and several surgeries, she's healed and shows no more signs of cancer. Now my parents are in debt. Maybe we shoulda just asked Zeus for help. Woulda saved a ton of money.

Now, I'd like to follow the scientific method as much as possible in this way: we shouldnt "deny" something 100% because it is impossible to prove something false 100%;sure at 98-99% but i say never at 100%.
But regardless, if we dont have reasons to believe in it in the first place, why believe it half way?There are other methods, better ones, to doing the same things, without a god.

The only part I don't take literal is that the earth was created 6000 years ago. It proves that one book in the Old Testament was inaccurate. For a book written Before the Common Era there is bound to be inaccuracies from the interpretation, and from the translation from Greek to Latin to English.

The caller is responsible for my aunt's death. While god was busy taking care of the "mass" in her breast which could or could have not been cancer my aunt was praying to god so he cured her (doctor diagnosed) esophagus cancer, since god was else where taking care of Diane, my aunt died.

@jinnyiskewl I'm not sure what you mean by "your God," but if it's the God of the Bible, then your God was a sociopathic, narcissistic, misogynistic, and racist serial killer and you're just cherry picking the "God is love" parts. Well, if you want to cherry pick, the Quran tells people to be charitable, not to do evil, not to lie, not to cheat, not to steal, to be forgiving, to treat others with kindness, to live peacefully, and to let others have freedom of religion.

This is the main reason I myself became an Atheist.
Religion doesn't make you want to ask questions, you just simply say "God!".
How does a bird fly? How does radiometric dating work? How does the immune system carry out its actions?
Religion is an inadequate tool for finding answers and providing explanations, it teaches nothing. The pretentious bastard that dares claims that there is a God, should rightly be portentous enough to tell where the hell has he been for the past 14.5 billion years.

I've been thinking about these arguments in reverse. If you believe in God because you think you were healed, then don't unhealed people count as evidence against God? If you think beauty in nature shows God's existence, then doesn't ugliness in nature show His nonexistence? It just seems like you can't have it both ways.

Thanks to science the gaps god can hide in are getting fewer and smaller all the time. In the future god will be left to reside in mythology and it's believers will become irrelevant and simply an amusing remnant.

Agnostic or not; the argument would always still exist. Don't you go thinking you have the moral high ground because you linger in the middle. Of course we should 'bash' a person for their beliefs. Especially when their beliefs involve murdering homosexuals, non believers and anyone who works on the Sabbath. How the fuck can you be Agnostic?

Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
Exodus 22:20: "You must kill those who worship another god."
They do simply what their holy books tell them to. The Quran has the same basic views. Most Christians ignore these parts. It is unacceptable in todays society because Intelligent free minded people noticed religion is BS.
